Once Shurry was done speaking with Bete, he walked around to the various groups from all the familias that came down this time. Though he did this, he really wasn't looking forward to conversing with Finn again, yet even so, he had no choice now, it would be an inevitable thing, especially since they were all done here together, and there was also the obvious, Luna and Terra were getting along nicely.
Eventually, it came time for bed, and thus the night watch began. Shurry sat by a crackling fire, watching and waiting. The first on night watch was Nernatti, and a couple others from the Ganesha familia, Ganesha was asleep and would be used as the alarm clock for everyone later.
Poking the fire with a stick, Nernatti wore a difficult smile. "I've spent my life being all a flutter with my emotions. Wanting to find someone cute to date." She started. "Or a little brother to dote on. Now I find out that I could have had one… It's so frustrating." She pouted.
"In my timeline, you were a great big sister. Though, your antics didn't really change much from where you are now… It sort of made it feel like you became my little sister after a while." Shurry answered with a light chuckle.
"Humph! I know, I'll make Bell my little brother."
"You can try. He's going to have half elven babies eventually." He chuckled again. "Sometime after all of you defeat the dragon."
One of the Ganesha members had a shiver run the length of his spine. "Are you certain we can even pull it off? That thing slaughtered the Zeus and Hera familias like they were nothing."
"I'm uncertain as well, the strength those people had was nothing short of immense. Even now, though I'm a level 5 adventurer, and considered first class, I don't feel like I can claim that I've even touched the power of their weakest members." Another from Ganesha uttered.
Shurry paused, and waited for a moment before speaking. Even he would need to be careful in what he said here. "It's fine to feel that way, I don't blame you for it, in fact I think you're not only right to think that way, but you're indeed correct. You are not a match for them." He said, making sure they understood. "That includes you as well, Nernatti." He added, pausing for a moment.
"I know, and that's why we're down here right now. To train with a real hero, and thus grow stronger. Hoping we get what we need to defeat that monster." Nernatti spoke up in her high pitched voice, and a little flair… However, it was clear, she'd been forcing herself into feeling all of that, none of it was genuine like her usual self.
Shurry smirked a little bit. "That's right, I'll be training you, with the specific purpose of pushing you beyond your limits. So get ready…"
"But I should be limited to level 5?"
"Same here?"
Shurry shook his head, and sighed. "Upon reaching level 10, one gets a whole new set of abilities, as far as stepping in to update familia's status on their own. Which means, all associated skills and abilities required to make such a thing possible…"
"What do you mean, Origin Wolf?"
"I mean, that I can see your souls. There's a reason why I have all of these people down here, and took no one else. You're only limited by what you believe, and soon, you'll see just how far you can really go. Your gods believe in you, and have come down here with us because they too believe in your ability." Shurry elaborated, allowing the silence to fall…
With the next hour passing by in total silence, each person left to their own thoughts. Shurry, already feeling heartache living in this timeline for the moment, realized that this test was going to be far more painful than he had ever previously thought. The night watch switched, now with Raul, Ana Kitty, and different member from Hathor familia.
"Hey there, it's been a quiet night so far, right?" Ana Kitty asked, sitting down and fixing her skirt in a way to show some of her goods to Raul…
Raul, now red as could be from the sight, sat down and shrunk a little. "Aki, do you have to show off like that?" He practically stammered.
"Yes, it's rare I can be free in front of others. Now is as good as any. Origin Wolf here isn't going to try anything, his spirit Luna is a woman with the power to grant blessings, our friend Samira is an amazoness wearing nothing, and lastly… You, you're my chosen mate, of course I'm going to tease you every chance I get." Ana Kitty explained and then snuggled up to Raul.
"Hey, it's not weird for us to be naked on expeditions. Plus I suspect Origin Wolf is going to put us into positions where we won't have time to give a damn about nudity in the slightest." Samira said spreading and stretching. "I've got a natural advantage in this regard, I also heard there's a story behind the Origin Wolf. I'd like to hear it." Shurry's ears flicked once. "Yeah, it's about the earring, isn't it?"
Shurry took in a deep breath, and let it out slowly, the mini Iska in his heart boxing and kicking away the bad feelings with a passionate smile on her face. "Well, if you want to hear it, I'll share, Samira?"
"That's my name, so what's this story?"
"Which one do you want to hear first? The one that led me to fear each member of your race more than a Leviathan when I was a kid? Or the one that's a bit more heart warming?"
"The most interesting one."
"They're equally so…"
"Then your childhood one."
"Very well then. I was born to a beautiful werewolfess in Telskyura…" He began, retelling the story in little detail as possible, but retaining the events. "... And that's when I was drugged, and violated against my will with no hope of resisting."
"Holy shit. No wonder why you feared them like individual Leviathans. Those ones were monsters. So what's the other story?"
Shurry's lips curled into a smile. "A dear friend from the middle of my childhood, Iska, risked her mind and body to help me over the last hurdle. She was pregnant with twins… And, gave birth to a werewolf girl, and an amazon boy."
Samira spat out her water, and covered her mouth before her scream woke everyone up. "You're not kidding? Damn, that's something else. Your seed is so powerful it overrides our race's specialty?"
From then on, there was more discussion about all manner of topics, each shift finding their own reasons for pushing harder, and further. Realizing there was much more they could do.
