Okay… deep breath… time for a slightly awkward, slightly dramatic, but hopefully a little funny announcement 😅
So, about the novel…
Yeah. That one.
The one I was working on, hyping up (in my head at least), and probably confusing you all with random updates. Well… it's officially discontinued.
Cue sad background music.
Now before you grab your pitchforks (or just quietly judge me), let me explain what actually happened.
The novel got rejected.
And not just a simple "nah, not for us" type rejection. It was more like: "This doesn't really match the Japanese style/nature/whatever-we're-looking-for vibe." And honestly? I read that and just sat there like… "Okay… but what does that even mean??" 😭
I mean, I tried. I really did. But apparently my story decided to go on its own adventure and forgot to carry its "Japanese nature certificate" along the way.
After that, something very natural happened — my interest just… disappeared.
Gone.
Vanished.
Evaporated like water on a hot pan.
And I don't want to fake it. Writing something without interest feels forced, boring, and honestly unfair to both me and you. You deserve something I actually enjoy creating, not something I'm dragging like a school assignment.
So instead of stretching it endlessly or pretending "updates coming soon" (we all know what that means 😶), I decided to officially discontinue it.
BUT…
(Yes, there is a "but," don't worry, I'm not leaving you in emotional damage mode.)
A new series is already in production 🎉
And this time — things are going to be VERY different.
First of all: no contracts.
No approvals.
No "this doesn't match the vibe."
No mysterious rejection emails that make you question your entire existence.
This new series is purely for my own interest. I'm writing what I want, how I want, and at my own pace. Which also means one very important thing:
It will NOT get discontinued.
Because there's literally no one to reject it except me… and I'm pretty sure I won't reject myself (hopefully 😅).
Also, I'm focusing on making the English better this time. Not just "okay-ish" or "it works somehow," but actually clean, readable, and enjoyable. So yeah, small upgrade there — your eyes can relax now.
I'll be making a proper announcement for the new series very soon right here, so keep an eye out. You'll be able to check it out, judge it, support it, or just silently read it at 2 AM like most of us do.
And honestly, I'm kind of excited again.
Like, actually excited.
Not "I have to do this" energy, but "I want to do this" energy — which makes a HUGE difference.
So yeah, to sum it all up:
Old novel = discontinued ❌ Rejection = received 💀 Motivation = temporarily lost 🫠 New series = coming soon 🚀 Contracts = nope ❌ Freedom = 100% ✅
And to everyone who supported the previous novel, read even a little bit of it, or just listened to me talk about it — thank you. Seriously. Even if it didn't go where I expected, it still helped me learn a lot (including how confusing rejection reasons can be 😭).
Think of this not as an ending… but as a plot twist.
A slightly chaotic one.
Okay, maybe a VERY chaotic one.
But still — a new beginning.
