The door clicked shut behind them with a soft thud.
Emily stood just inside, her eyes adjusting to the warm, muted light spilling from the lamp on Lina's desk.
The room smelled faintly like lavender — or maybe that was just Lina — and it felt… still. Like it was waiting.
Lina set her keys on the table by the door and kicked off her sneakers, then turned back, watching Emily without saying anything right away.
Emily took a few more steps in. Her fingers trailed along the edge of the bookshelf by the wall — where art supplies and sketchpads were stacked alongside a few old novels with folded corners.
"It feels like you," she murmured, eyes soft.
Lina arched a brow. "Messy?"
Emily turned, smiling. "No. Warm. A little chaotic. Quiet in the best way."
Lina bit her lip, amused, but didn't deflect the compliment. She walked closer, stopping just in front of her.
"First time someone's called my room quiet."
