There was no sound on the other end.
After waiting for a moment, Nora became impatient and called out, "Pedro Langley?"
"Hmm, oh." Pedro seemed to come back to his senses, but he wasn't in the least bit flustered, anxious, or thrilled. Instead, he asked very calmly, "Did you go to the hospital?"
"Yes."
"Oh."
"Hmm?"
"I'm booking a flight to Lai'an City now."
Pedro said calmly, then hung up the phone.
Nora: "..."
Is this guy stupid?
Two minutes later, Pedro suddenly called again.
Nora answered.
"I'm in the car now. Are you feeling any discomfort?" Pedro asked, his tone still very calm but seemingly suppressing something.
Holding a rabbit pillow to her chest, Nora played with the bunny's long ears and said sullenly, "No."
"Oh."
"..."
"..."
There was a moment of silence on the phone.
Finally, Pedro squeezed out a sentence, "If you feel any discomfort, call me anytime."
