Chapter 141: End of the World of Warcraft Simulation
[June 2016 – August 2017: The Defias Brotherhood was swiftly eradicated. After assisting Varian in quelling the rebellion, you returned to Andorhal. Your territory has since developed at a staggering pace.]
[In 2016, the Rodane Innovation Award went to a goblin named Shacks Bigwitz, who, by sheer accident, invented a strange device. He discovered that if images were divided into individual pixels, it might be possible to transmit the image of a person or a scene over long distances. He named this invention "television" and submitted it to your territory's patent office. While it was still far from being a true television, you knew a new era was dawning.]
[With electricity now widely used in both industry and daily life, your territory made an incredible leap forward—from the steam age straight into the electrical age. Gone were horses and carriages from the streets; now bicycles and motorcycles zipped through instead. Master Engineer Gelbin Mechatorque had won the 2015 Rodane Innovation Award with his internal combustion engine and was now researching automobiles. While goblins already had crude oil-fueled race cars, they were no match for the modern cars you had reproduced.]
[Over these years, your territory had far surpassed Lordaeron in both economy and technology. You could sense that Terenas II was becoming wary of you, but you didn't pay it any mind. Frankly, if you wanted, you could force him to abdicate in a matter of minutes.]
[Your territory had attracted a number of non-human residents—not just gnomes but goblins and orcs as well. The former came drawn by your thriving economy; the latter were orc war prisoners taken into asylum shelters. You even considered buying Thrall, but the moment you acted on that thought, you were immediately warned by the Bronze Dragons.]
[A gnome named Chromie warned that doing so would disrupt this timeline, leading to drastic changes in both history and the future. She also told you that this timeline was the most promising out of all possible ones—on others, nine out of ten lives in Azeroth had perished. That shocked you. She made it sound like you were native to this world.]
[One thing that lingered on your mind: Kel'Thuzad had, over the past two years, completely abandoned necromancy and undead magic experiments, and had devoted himself entirely to studying card games. He missed countless Dalaran Mage Council meetings and was even stripped of his Council of Six membership. Yet he didn't seem to care. Gelbin had grown close to him, and according to him, Kel'Thuzad was now obsessed with earning the "Duel King" title. He had lost the last two tournaments to opponents' "god draws" and was now researching rituals to improve his luck.]
[In September 2017, Antonidas arrived in Andorhal with Jaina. After seeing the changes with his own eyes, he came to you to inquire about relocating Dalaran to Andorhal. This was different from the game: the Blackrock Orcs had driven dragons to massacre the people of Caer Darrow, destroying the Violet Citadel. After it had just been rebuilt, Ner'zhul attacked again, leading to the fall of Dalaran. Thanks to recommendations from Kel'Thuzad and Jaina, Antonidas thought of you.]
[To be blunt, he came begging. Luckily, you had money and land to spare. You agreed to Antonidas's request, and within months, the new Dalaran was built to the southwest of Andorhal. As expected of a magic city, you saw plenty of high-tech wonders there—including a mechanical construct called the "Auction Bot" that could sell goods just like a real person. You saw its potential and bought the blueprints from the owner for a hefty sum. You have obtained Mechanical Blueprint: Auction Bot.]
[You also bought a famous weapon at the Dalaran auction house—a gun named Santos's Famous Shotgun, said to have belonged to a renowned hunter named Santos Yale. You have obtained Epic Item: Santos's Famous Shotgun.]
[In July 2018, all was calm in Lordaeron. Aside from Thrall escaping Durnholde Keep with Taretha's help and entering Alterac Valley with your tacit approval, everything else remained peaceful. According to the original story, Kel'Thuzad was supposed to be lured by Ner'zhul's call to Northrend in pursuit of power, later returning to secretly form the Cult of the Damned and spread plague throughout the kingdom. But now? Come on—was spreading plague really more fun than playing cards?]
[After nearly two years of research under your leadership and with Master Engineer Gelbin Mechatorque overseeing development, the first automobile was finally completed. It was a bulky four-wheeled vehicle powered by a 1.1 kW internal combustion engine, reaching a top speed of 14.4 km/h. Though not as fast as a rogue's Sprint, it marked a giant leap for mankind.]
[In April 2019, after three years of research led by Shacks Bigwitz's scientific team, a television set identical to the one in your memory was finally developed. In June 2019, Azeroth's first-ever television show, Romeo and Juliet, premiered. From that moment, humanity officially entered the television era.]
[Although televisions were still luxury goods, they spread rapidly throughout the world. There were now dedicated drama channels, a Dalaran General Channel teaching magic, and even a Yu-Gi-Oh!-style channel starring Azeroth's top three duelists: Arthas, Kel'Thuzad, and Gelbin. Even you often found yourself entranced watching TV. The world was gradually being reshaped according to your aesthetics.]
[In December 2019, you learned that Thrall had succeeded in becoming Warchief of the Horde and had begun attacking orc prisoner camps to free his brethren. He soon captured Durnholde Keep. You didn't deliberately stop him—though, should he ever attack Andorhal, you wouldn't mind teaching him a painful lesson.]
[By 2020, although your memory of World of Warcraft lore was hazy, you still remembered that this year should've been the height of the Cult of the Damned's activity—arguably the most iconic year in the game's plot.]
[In the game, Kel'Thuzad released the Plague of Undeath in Andorhal. Arthas, to contain the plague in Stratholme, purged the entire city. Then, in pursuit of the demon Mal'Ganis, he led his entire fleet north to Northrend, eventually trading his soul for the runeblade Frostmourne and exacting his revenge. A month later, he returned as a Death Knight, killed his father, and destroyed the Kingdom of Lordaeron.]
[But none of that happened here. Arthas and Kel'Thuzad were now famous celebrities, heavily invested in their public images. Arthas, being quite handsome, had even begun starring in your Lord of the Rings adaptation, playing Aragorn without needing makeup. The Scourge Plague? Not even a trace. Meanwhile, Archmage Ansirem Runeweaver, host of the Dalaran General Channel, came to Antonidas complaining about a voice persistently nagging him, telling him to go to Northrend to seek power. It was like a damn broken record. Annoyed, Antonidas cut off the connection with a spell. You realized Ner'zhul might be at his wit's end.]
[It suddenly hit you—everything you'd done had created a chain reaction of butterfly effects that had drastically altered this world. With Dalaran now inside your territory, and as long as Medivh's Book remained intact and the portal couldn't be opened, the Burning Legion would remain locked out of Azeroth forever. Perhaps Medivh had foreseen this. He was supposed to appear as a raven in Lordaeron to warn of impending doom, but now, he hadn't even shown up.]
[In 2022, at age 39, you got married. Your wife was Arthas's sister, the Princess of Lordaeron. That same year, you had two daughters. At last, you had ties in this world.]
[At the end of 2022, Thrall returned to Alterac Valley with a reunited orcish Horde, living in seclusion.]
[From 2022 to 2029, various events unfolded. In 2027, King Terenas II passed away. Arthas had no interest in the throne, and as the third in line, you unexpectedly became King of Lordaeron. Soon after, you were unanimously appointed Supreme Commander of the Alliance.]
[During this time, your forces joined with Duke Hydraxis of the water elementals to defeat Ragnaros the Firelord and banish him back to the Firelands. You also wiped out Rend's Dark Horde and the black dragon prince Nefarian in Blackrock Spire, saving the world multiple times.]
[Thanks to your efforts, the resource-starved Horde, under Thrall's leadership, began to integrate into your nation. Having always treated the orcs well, you earned their trust. Thrall was even awarded the 2027 Rodane Peace Prize.]
[From 2030 to 2045, under your rule, the world's technology rapidly advanced. In less than twenty years, the world progressed by at least eighty. TVs were everywhere, and automobiles crisscrossed every road. If not for people dueling with fourth-generation Duel Disks in plain sight, you would've thought you never transmigrated at all.]
[Along the way, you occasionally saved the world—but with technology being so dominant, there were few real challenges.]
[In June 2045, surrounded by your wife and children, you passed away peacefully.]
[Simulation ends.]
