Chapter 278: Is It Li Xun Who Has Arrived?
"It's even weaker than I expected." Li Xun muttered to himself.
He swept a glance around and was just about to put away the Azure Dragon Halberd when Huang Xi suddenly turned her head toward the void at their side. Her rosy lips parted as she spoke:
"Master, demons are coming!"
"And—they're alive!"
"Oh?"
Hearing Huang Xi's words, Li Xun raised an eyebrow.
Within the Abyssal Demons Burial, even someone as strong as Huang Xi had her spiritual sense suppressed.
As for Li Xun, his spiritual sense could barely probe a radius of one hundred meters.
Fortunately, with Huang Xi present, they could still barely sense approaching danger ahead of time.
Li Xun turned to look.
From deeper within the Abyssal Demons Burial, several figures flew out.
At first, they were blurry silhouettes, but as they passed through layers of pitch-black mist, their outlines gradually became clear.
"So they really are living Otherworldly Demon… and they don't look weak."
Li Xun narrowed his eyes.
There were five demons in total.
The strongest among them had already reached the peak of the Divine Palace Realm. The weakest was at least mid-stage Divine Palace Realm—on Li Xun's level.
"Master, shall I deal with them?" Huang Xi stepped forward, coming to stand beside him.
Her understanding of the Otherworldly Demon was deeper than Li Xun's—mostly because she came from an era far closer to the time when they invaded.
Records of them had been much more complete in her time than now.
The strength of Otherworldly Demon lay in their tenacity and difficulty to kill—but their fatal weakness was their frail souls.
If one could directly annihilate their souls, then their powerful bodies would be nothing but empty shells.
"No need for now. The true players haven't shown up yet. If you make a move now, those people may never dare to reveal themselves." Li Xun said calmly.
"…Alright." Huang Xi nodded helplessly.
She retreated a step and spread out her spiritual sense. After scanning the surroundings, she still detected no signs of any human cultivators, and couldn't help feeling puzzled.
She never doubted her master's judgment, but she wondered where those people were hiding, and by what means they were concealing themselves inside the Abyssal Demons Burial without being discovered by the demons.
After all, the Otherworldly Demon didn't care what internal conflicts the Human Race had. Anyone who dared enter the Abyssal Demons Burial would be killed without hesitation.
Just like the situation Li Xun faced now.
"Human race!" The leading Otherworldly Demon opened his mouth.
He wore black iron armor, tall and robust, holding a blood-stained black spear. His presence alone carried a force that could suppress heaven and earth.
His pupils were scarlet, filled with a strange, bloodthirsty glow.
When he saw Li Xun and Huang Xi, two beams of light shot out from his eyes, distorting the surrounding void.
Under him, he rode a savage, unknown beast—wolflike in appearance, its posture fierce and wild.
Every stomp of its millstone-sized hooves shattered the void beneath it.
Counting the mounts, there were already ten Extraterritorial beings—each one above the Divine Palace Realm.
Such power, if placed outside, would be enough to sweep through countless small and medium sects.
Even the former Profound Sun Sect would have been completely powerless before them.
"You have crossed the boundary!" The leading Otherworldly Demon spoke again.
His aura was terrifying—vast and violent like a surging tide.
It felt as though a demonic sovereign had climbed up from the depths of hell itself, chilling enough to make one's soul tremble.
"Leave your lives here!"
His temperament was tyrannical—no nonsense, no hesitation. He chose to attack the moment he arrived.
They understood very well that although this place was called the Abyssal Demons Burial, to them, this was still essentially the humans' home ground.
If they failed to keep Li Xun and Huang Xi here, then once the two escaped, what awaited the five demons would be an endless stream of human or spirit-race experts hunting them down.
No matter how terrifying the Abyssal Demons Burial was, absolute strength could still flatten everything.
Boom!
The leading demon erupted with overwhelming power.
Riding atop the wolf-like beast, he charged forward with the speed of a blazing meteor, frightening beyond compare.
The dripping-blood black spear pierced through the void, colliding with the Azure Dragon Halberd.
The explosion was deafening—aftershocks raged outward like a storm, sweeping across nearly a thousand miles.
Within this range, every mountain trembled nonstop.
Boom!
After the first exchange, the Otherworldly Demon was sent flying dozens of meters back.
Li Xun, in contrast, stood unmoving, like an immovable mountain. His blood and qi roared like a great river, unleashing a frightening aura.
"You have some strength." The leading demon sneered, unfazed.
He turned his head and ordered coldly:
"Attack together. Kill them both. Don't waste time!"
"Yes!"
The other four demons obeyed immediately.
In an instant, a terrifying battle erupted within the Abyssal Demons Burial. An incomparably vast pressure surged like a tsunami, divine light flooding heaven and earth.
Countless mountains were reduced to dust in moments—nothing survived.
. . .
Far away—thousands of miles out—a Divine Palace Realm cultivator was sitting cross-legged, radiating divine brilliance.
Suddenly, his eyes twitched as he looked toward the battlefield where Li Xun was fighting.
A trace of excitement flashed within his gaze.
"Is Li Xun here already?"
The Divine Palace Realm expert abruptly stood up, whispering to himself.
Inside the Abyssal Demons Burial, everyone's spiritual sense was suppressed to the extreme—nearly unusable.
Not just Divine Palace Realm, even if a Saint or Saint King came, it would be the same.
"But he arrived so quickly!"
The man was slightly shocked.
They had arrived near the Abyssal Demons Burial long ago using teleportation arrays.
Yet Li Xun, in only a few short days, had also reached this place—it was undeniably strange.
Li Xun's speed had caught them completely off guard.
Many of their arrangements weren't even completed yet—their killing formations, their trapping arrays—none were fully prepared.
Still, this wasn't a huge problem.
After all, they had two Saints sitting in ambush. No matter how strong Li Xun was, he wouldn't be able to escape.
"It seems Li Xun encountered the Otherworldly Demon inside the Abyssal Demons Burial." The cultivator sneered coldly.
"Even someone like him, once entangled by those demons, won't escape for a while."
"It appears even the heavens want you to die here."
