Chapter 426 - Chapter 425: "Bribery" Breaks Enuncia

Pell instantly locked onto the target's location and relative distance via the teleportation transponders.

The "Briber's" ungauntleted right hand retrieved a handful of adamantium grit from his Saturnine prototype's waist.

After advancing to "Briber," Pell had modified his armor to utilize his abilities.

The "Briber" threw with full force the adamantium grit toward the target location. "For you. You are mine."

Enhanced throwing ability allowed him to scatter the grit evenly over the target's area.

The yellow-robed figure sensed the abruptly appearing figure behind him. He didn't care much, just another corpse. Moments later, he could activate his Chaos-chanelling tower with Enuncia.

Feeling the thrown sand-like metal objects, he felt even contempt. Their missile-like powerful bullets had no effect. How could these hurt him?

As the adamantium grit scattered on the ground, a yellow-robed figure manifested in Pell's eyes.

For Pell, this wasn't just seeing the target. It signified the "Briber" established a connection with the target through "Bribe-Connection."

The heavy volkite gun and flame storm cannon instantly locked onto the yellow-robed figure's location. A rain of metal gifts shot toward the target.

The yellow-robed figure was astonished to find that as beams passed through his body, the Enuncia defense enveloping him was continuously weakened.

He hurriedly muttered, attempting to reconstruct the defense.

Pell's attacks didn't cease. Striding toward the yellow-robed figure, his sustained assault was unrelenting. He seized the fleeting opportunity after "Bribe-Weaken" the defense.

Amid explosive sounds, the robe and left leg were disintegrated into atoms, vanishing.

The yellow-robed figure staggered and fell. He didn't possess biomancy. The Enuncia he mastered couldn't repair his body.

For the first time, he felt mortal threat. But he refused to surrender. He opened his mouth, emitting a piercing psychic shriek.

As a master telepath, he believed his psychic scream could severely damage the enemy's mind.

Even if the opponent's will was strong and not severely damaged, the fatal strike he could prepare would reap the enemy's life.

Afterward, he could reapply Enuncia to conceal his body. He could crawl to the Chaos-chanelling tower's location.

Pell elevated to the second layer of the Taylorian mental state, steps unceasing. Then pushed to the third layer.

The psychic scream was blocked by the wall of will. He drew the power sword from his waist, pressing the runic rune.

Seeing the psychic scream ineffective, a flicker of alarm passed through the yellow-robed figure's eyes.

He was forced to open his mouth, prematurely launching the prepared fatal strike.

He uttered an incomprehensible shout. Intangible force surged toward the black-armored giant before him.

Amid earsplitting detonation, Pell's visor flashed with an overload warning for the conversion field.

The Saturnine prototype's defense was breached by Enuncia. But the forced, early strike didn't penetrate the thick armor.

Pell swung the power sword glowing blue light, striking the yellow-robed figure.

The yellow-robed figure wanted to open his mouth again. But his throat was full of a metallic taste. His vocal cords felt ruptured. His stiff movements weren't as fast as Pell's swinging sword.

The disruption field flashed, completely tearing apart the shattered form.

Pell looked toward the ruins ahead, ordering: "The yellow-robed figure was likely the Yellow Clad Academy leader. His return here must have a reason."

"Organize squads. Search the ruins."

Fifteen days later, aboard the Son of Vostroya.

Pell knelt on the altar, devoutly praying to the Black Emperor.

The intangible gate opened. Black mist surged, swallowing Pell and the offerings.

Regaining his senses, Pell began reporting.

"My Lord, I have eradicated the Yellow Clad Academy forces on Aventinium…"

Nareth listened to Pell's briefing. He didn't have Pell open his mind to attempt acquiring Enuncia.

Enuncia differed from "Silent Ravings." Observing scenes couldn't master it.

To master Enuncia, one needed to unearth this secret from the mind of someone who possessed it, like John Grammaticus.

Cognitae graduates, though all possessed Enuncia secrets, were too cunning.

Unless luckily encountered, in situations like Aventinium, by the time Nareth got news and arrived, the Cognitae member would have long fled.

The most realistically feasible method was acquiring it from Oor Pythos.

"My Lord, within the ruins, I found a tower-like structure. Likely the Chaos-chanelling tower you mentioned. Librarians are researching it, seeking safe methods to destroy it."

As Pell spoke, he operated the data-slate, showing the tower's image to the Black Emperor.

Nareth nodded, asking: "Does it bear inscribed text or patterns?"

"My Lord, I personally inspected. None present."

Nareth wasn't disappointed. Though Chaos-chanelling towers required Enuncia power to create, inscription wasn't necessary; application during construction sufficed.

As he pondered, Pell picked up a crystal box nearby.

Pell opened the lid, presenting it before the Black Emperor.

Nareth's gaze penetrated the colorless mist, seeing shimmering, crystalline glow worms, finger-length, moving within.

"My Lord, within the ruins, I found a laboratory."

"The laboratory contained research notes belonging to the Yellow Clad Academy leader. He cultivated these so-called Enlightened Crystal Worms to train his apprentices."

"He implanted Enlightened Crystal Worms into youths' brains. Failures had their brains consumed, birthing larvae. Successful eugenically selected individuals gained potent psychic power."

Nareth nodded slightly, thinking to himself.

'Main material for the "Error" pathway Sequence 7 "Cryptologist." Unexpected harvest.'

"How many are there?"

"My Lord, within the laboratory, I discovered over one hundred thousand Enlightened Crystal Worms," Pell replied.

"From experimental records, Librarians found each failure, on average, birthed four larvae."

"Combining information from nobles, he likely lurked on Aventinium over five centuries, accumulating this many Enlightened Crystal Worms."

Nareth instructed: "I am interested in them. Gather all. Offer them to me."

"As you command, my Lord," Pell acknowledged, continuing his report.

"Though the Yellow Clad Academy is eradicated, eugenic ideology is deeply rooted within Aventinium's philosophy."

"Elite education culture is widely promoted among local nobility, more superior than education for other locals or other worlds."

"Therefore, I believe the policy of recruiting new members from nobility shouldn't change."

Nareth knew Cognitae education had its merits.

He instructed: "Thus, your Chapter shall recruit new members from nobility."

After returning Pell to the Son of Vostroya, Nareth returned to reality.

He ordered Tierney to come to his office in ten minutes.

Then, Nareth returned to the Kingdom of Disorder's first layered space, ordering the Jokaero to prepare the "Cryptologist" potion.

Tierney, having digested "Swindler" long ago, drank the mist-filled potion, advancing to Sequence 7.
