Hey- it's been a while.
I lwk don't know when or if any of the readers I've managed to gather will even see this little announcement since there's a good chance this fic got burried in your overcrowded libraries, but I just want you to know that I haven't quit writing and that I'll probably be coming back soon- though, just not back to this fic.
Unfortunately, the translations of IPOTE have basically stopped, and there hasn't really been too much news in regards to the author and their updates.
Personally, because of how much I love the series, I don't want to have to make shit up just to cover plot holes that haven't been addressed or about ideas that haven't been fully fleshed out- and I'm still waiting for Shadow Slave to draw closer to the end so I can look at the story more wholistically rather than just make more shit up and possibly piss off fans of SS in the future.
Honestly, I was really thinking about writing an entire arc in the IPOTE verse so I'd be able to stall a bit and figure out where exactly I want to take this, but I personally don't feel I have the writing skill to actually execute the ideas that I've thought of to a satisfactory level, and that has sort of dulled my enthusiasm for continuing the story.
On a more positive note though, I do have a couple more ideas that I've been developing during the long hiatus I've been on.
I know that I listed a whole bunch of IP's that I was thinking of writing fics on, but after the initial planning phase and a few test run chapters, I honestly felt like they kind of sucked.
One of the criticisms that I got about my writing was that I was just rehashing the original story with an extra character or two, and I felt like I was falling into the same problem.
I genuinely just stopped having fun writing at some point just because of how many fics I've read about MHA, JJK, and Naruto, and I just felt like everything that I wrote lacked substance and any real purpose.
The only one time that I actually sort of enjoyed writing was when I tried my hand at a fate fic, but because of the sheer amount of knowledge you need to contextualize a couple of the grail wars and some of the events in Grand Order, I just gave up because I got tired of having to consult the Type-Moon wiki every 5 minutes to make sure I don't sound like I'm larping.
And so, I'll have to apologize if any of you were looking forward to those, but trust me, if you read what I ended up cooking up, you'd tell me to delete it and pretend it never existed.
Anyway-
After all that yap, let me move onto the main reason why I'm writing this announcement.
I have two ideas for fics that are significantly more well developed than the others, but I don't really know which one I should commit too.
I think that they both have a decent amount of potential, but I want your opinion.
Choice one:
Persona: Stand User in Tokyo
Choice two:
Honkai: Regressor in the Previous Era
They'll both be more character centered- though the Persona one will definitelly dive more into the "make shit up" kind of fanfic territory since I'll be experimenting with a concept I kept of thinking of while playing the game.
The Honkai fic will probably take a bit more time to write since it'll require a bit more research, but I should be able to start posting chapters around wensday of next week- though the Persona one has had a bit more time to cook in the oven, and could honestly be started by this friday.
Of course, I could also just post both and see which one you guys like better, but that'll take a lot more time and probably push my plans back a week or two while I put together a respectable sample for both stories so you guys can judge.
