As Aethon stared at the ENTITY falling into the lake, he blasted ice into the lake trying to freeze the surface to keep the ENTITY in place, even if it was only momentarily. Has he was in the air and trying to figure out what to do he spotted HIENZ.
He landed at the entrance of the alleyway where Hienz was standing. He then put the girl down and told her to stay with Hienz. Has Heinz was about to ask Aethon what he was going to do, Aethon stared at the man to the left who had a mana stone. Aethon stared intensely at it and wondered if he could get the ENTITY'S attention with it. As he began to he walk up to the man, a cracking sound began to echoe throughout the area that was coming from the lake. Everyone's attention was drawn to it. The sound kept on getting louder, and louder until a long black arm shot out of the surface of the frozen lake. It's long claws for fingers were shooting out fire projectiles into the air. As everyone watched the arm shoot out the fire projectiles, they noticed that they were beginning to fall back down to the earth, almost like stars that were on fire falling down from the heavens. There faces were filled with dread, and they all began to run inside the destroyed buildings for cover. Aethon on the other hand, wanted to run and grab the mana stone from the man's hand but chose to deal with the flames first.
As they started falling down to the earth, some hit buildings which froze up like they were ice structures. One hit a bird that made it turn to ice. As the bird fell to the ground it shattered into pieces like glass. After seeing this, Aethon knew he wouldn't be able to stop all the flames and that there was no one to help him has the soldiers and guards were either too injured or dead. For the ones that were headed to were all the citizens who couldn't fit into the buildings as there wasn't enough place for them, he used wind magic to create a wind vortex that moved in a clockwise direction and then screamed in a loud voice, :"RUN! RUN HAS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM HERE!" After hearing this everyone looked at him and then started running, even the people inside the destroyed buildings started to run away as well, except for Heinz and the small girl. After stopping the flames that he could, Aethon crouched down, breathing heavy and then looked up to see the ones that he couldn't stop hit mostly the buildings. He was glad that everyone was gathered in one area rather then spread out has this allowed him to keep everyone safe,but his victory of stopping the flames was short lived.
Just as Aethon crouched down, the ENTITY broke free from the frozen lake. It jumped out and landed on the open field. As Aethon looked at it, he wondered how is he going to stop it. Use mana to draw it in? And then what? He knew he was tired, low on magic since he used alot of ice magic to freeze the surface of the lake to trap it, he also used alot of wind magic to escape from it. He didn't have alot of mana left as he was exhausted and he couldn't draw out mana from the surrounding areas as the he would have to stay in one place for quite some time and if he did, the creature would kill him on the spot. His only option was to make it chase him while he looked for the mana dampening chains to make it sleep. Has to how he would put them on the ENTITY once he found them? He didn't know.
Aethon then looked to his left and saw that the mana stone the man was holding in his hand was lying on the ground. He then thought to himself, he could use it to draw the ENTITIES attention with this while looking for the chains. He then turned around to Heinz who was staring in horror at the ENTITY. Aethon walked up to him and put both his hands on Hienz shoulders and told him in a loud and commanding voice, :"Take the girl and run to my families house. It's a huge estate on the eastern part of the capital. When you get their you will see a crescent moon sigil on the gate. Take out the badge I gave you and show them. If they don't believe you say the words, THE NAMELESS. They will let you in. If no one is there go in and hide there until the coast is clear ok?" As Aethon said this, Heinz stared him dead in the eyes and nodes his head up and down, he then picked the girl up and ran eastwards. Has Aethon looked at his figure slowly dissappearing into the heavy mist caused by the rubble, he turned around, picked up the mana stone, and walked towards the ENTITY.
Has he walked towards the ENTITY, he noticed it wasn't moving, it was the same as before it started chasing the girl. He looked at the mana stone and then at the creature and back at the stone. He then realized that maybe it only reacts to mana, and maybe the reason it chose to chase the girl instead of the large crowd of people was because when the mana stone broke, pure mana leaked out from it, maybe that attracted the ENTITY? After thinking that, he stared intensely at the horrid creature. Has he stared at its dark blue flame that replaced it's head, he thought to himself that "maybe that's why it chose chasing the small girl over everyone else? But why? People are living walking mana stones if you think about. They emit mana like a cloud of mist around them. What was so special about that type of pure mana that seeped out the mana stone? Why didn't it react to the large crowd? Then it struck Aethon. What if it wasn't responsible for what happend to the people in the Market Square? What if something else was. Did someone make it look like the ENTITY'S were responsible so they could create this chaos? But why. What's there to gain? Was it from one of the houses that rule VARIA? Who hired those assassin's that Lord Vaerion fought off? And why did they try to stop us from getting back to the capital? The more Aethon thought about all of this, the more confused he got. He then let out a heavy sigh, and focused his attention on the ENTITY.
His hands trembled and heart began to beat fast, just as he was about to smash the mana stone, he heard a loud growl. It was his stomach. He looked at his stomach and then at the creature. It didn't move. He then let out a small chuckle and said to himself, "ahhh... Hehehe... I'm hungry, exhausted, thirsty, and can't use mana or I'll collapse and will be killed by this horrid creature that looks like the devil himself."
He then looked down at the mana stone once again and thought to himself, "I wasn't able to even stand my own against those 2 assassin's and now I expect myself to fight this thing. It doesn't bleed, and fights with the intention of killing without thinking about its own safety?" he looked up at the sky, the sun was beginning to set, the sky went from a orange color to a dark royal blue color. The breeze that was hitting his face was warm. He then looked back to the ENTITY and said, :" Ahh... Screw it! I can't be so weak all my life! " has he screamed those words, he broke the mana stone. As the ENTITY turned to face him, it began to make it's ribcage protrude outwards.
As soon as Aethon broke the mana stone, the pure mana began to seep out, which make the ENTITY turn to face him. It stood still and watched as the mana seeped itself into Aethon who was beginning to crouch and raise his hands straight towards his chest and pointed towards the ENTITY. The ENTITY in turn began to make it's ribcage protrude out whilst it's long claw like fingers began to unwind like rope.
As Aethon saw this, his facail expression shifted from hope and determination to dread and fear. As the ENTITY'S ribcage was nearly fully open, Aethons attention was drawn in by the unwinding of the creatures long claw like fingers that were unwinding and not stopping. Only one word began to plague his thoughts, "Ahhhh... Shit."
Just as Aethon thought that he realized that the deafening sound that it produced before was about to be done again, he began shooting ice blades at the ribcage whilst slowly walking towards it. He used the small mist that was been generated by the ice hitting it has cover. Then all of a sudden a huge blue light began to emerge within the mist which made Aethon stop and walk back 15 steps as he stopped, he saw the ENTITY'S head was growing in size, slowly, but it was growing. Has he was staring at the things head, it began to swing it's elongated fingers towards Aethon who saw this and used wind magic to propel himself up, but has he lifted off the ground, a claw dug itself into his left legs calf. Aethon let out a loud scream as he grabbed the ENTITY'S arm that had it's claw stuck into his calf, he built up all the energy he had into blasting it with fire magic. It did nothing. It then pulled back it's arm to its main body leaving Aethon with a slit mark on his calf.
Aethon fell to the ground, around 9 meters away from the ENTITY. He fell face flat into the ground with dirt messing his face.
Has he slowly raised his head, the world sounded muffled, the sound of the ENTITY screaming was replaced by the sound of his heartbeat. Then he felt a cold sensation that started from his leg and spread throughout the nerves in his body.
Before he even turned around to see why he was feeling this sensation, he instinctively started screaming at the top of his lungs. His hands formed fists. He gripped the black colored grass has he tried to pick himself up while he clenched his teeth holding back tears and his scream. He then picked himself up and looked to see his left legs calf had a long thin cut. It was if a thin piece of metal had gone through his calf and left a clean thin slit through it.
Has he looked at it, he felt nauseated, he wanted to vomit but gritted his teeth and wiped his eyes that were covered in dirt from the ground. He then put both his hands infront of his left calf and concentrated all the strength he had left to his hands, which was difficult has the pain was unbearable. He then used fire magic to heat up his calf which helped with the pain abit. After that, he tore a piece of his pants and tied it around the calf tightly. He started breathing heavy and had realized that he was fighting the ENTITY.
As he turned his head to face foward to see the ENTITY, he saw it was gone. Then has he moved his head back abit, he saw a huge shadow was overlapping his small shadow. He slowly picked himself up, balancing on his right leg, and turned around slowly. What he saw could only be described as the devil himself had personally descended into this world to kill him.
