The main wall of Momo's house exploded as Aoi, covered by a shield of fire, jumped backward.
Momo leaped out in her massive armor, making the ground shake when she landed.
From beneath the rubble of a broken pillar, Cecilia crawled out from under the rocks. Her face was filled with hatred... and confidence.
"Looks like my 'love' isn't enough..." she said while slamming her giant blue club against the ground. "We're also gonna need some 'hate'."
She slipped her hand under her maid skirt... and pulled out a red club.
"This one is my favorite... 'Hate&War-chan'."
"Now we're talking! I bring peace, love, war... and one hell of a beating!"
The maid charged at Momo's armor at full speed.
The dwarf pulled a massive shield from her back and blocked the strikes from both clubs over and over again.
"You damn bug! Stop hiding already! Can't you see I'm trying to give you love!?"
"It's no use! Her defense is too strong! Fall back, Cecilia!" Aoi shouted.
The young maid spat on the ground.
"Hah? Who said you could give me orders, you bitter old hag?"
A vein popped on Aoi's forehead.
"Who are you calling a bitter old hag, you degenerate vampire!? You've got less manners than a rock!"
"At least I'm not flat and ugly like you."
Another vein popped on Aoi's forehead.
While the two kept arguing, Momo stood still, unable to understand what was happening.
Akira walked over to her side, and Momo opened the cockpit of her armor.
"Why are those two fighting?" Momo asked, confused.
"I'm gonna be honest with you, Momo... I have no idea."
"And you have to deal with those two every day?"
"Yeah... I don't really have a choice. The system forces me to," he said while pointing a finger at the SPN, where the mission was still active.
At that moment, Minu came flying in, leaving a sparkling trail behind her.
"And there comes annoyance number three."
"What did I miss?" Minu asked.
"Where the hell did you go!? You were gone for like five chapters."
Minu pulled out a badly written script.
"I went to talk with the fairy guild. Once I hit one month of work, they'll include my dental plan... besides, I didn't have any lines in the script."
"Right. Mikupedia says there can't be more than three characters talking at the same time."
Minu stared at Momo.
"So what's with the dwarf? Did you pull her out of a mecha anime?"
"Let me introduce you to Momo. She broke like three of my bones with a hug, and now we're friends," he said while pointing at her.
The dwarf waved shyly.
"I didn't know you had a guide fairy... people say they're pretty useless, but cute."
"That one doesn't look cute at all."
Minu spat on the ground.
"Hah? Who are you calling useless, dwarf?" she said in a confrontational tone.
Akira stared at her in disbelief.
"She accepted the fact that she's not cute way too fast..."
"You do realize you're smaller than Momo, right?"
"Yeah, but I'm awesome, so that makes me bigger than her," she said while striking a smug pose.
Then she turned toward Aoi and Cecilia, who were still arguing like two kids in kindergarten.
"And what's wrong with those two?"
"They were fighting Momo... but then they started arguing with each other..."
"I see..." Minu said thoughtfully. "And how's it going with the minerals and the extra characters?"
"They were handling that... I got Momo, but according to the SPN, she'll become an unlockable character later on."
Minu looked at the dwarf. She looked more like a dungeon boss than a future companion.
Momo stepped out of her armor and, after a flash of light, it vanished.
"I don't want to get involved in your business, but... I heard you're looking for minerals and extras."
"I know where to get both."
Akira looked at her in confusion.
"Oh yeah? How convenient..."
"See? Lazy writers," Minu said with a shrug.
Momo pointed at a large nearby building.
"That's the unemployed guild."
"There's a guild for that?"
"The economy is in rough shape... bad government decisions."
"I get it. Same thing happened to this series. The whole budget went into femboy fanservice," Akira replied.
"That's right. If we animated an epic fight scene, we'd go bankrupt... again," Minu added.
Akira imagined a kingdom full of green grass, well-built houses, children playing, fresh food, and warm baths.
"Man... it'd be nice not being broke..."
Minu, who was imagining the exact same thing as Akira, added...
"Just imagine all the possibilities... the other fairies wouldn't make fun of me anymore."
Momo looked at them like they were insane.
"Maybe I should just stay quiet and go along with them for now..."
And so, our group of hopeless debt-ridden losers and Momo walked toward the unemployed guild in search of extras willing to work for minimum wage under labor conditions that, in any country, would be considered inhumane.
"Hey! It's not my fault this kingdom is broke, you know!?"
Yeah, sorry. I'm just reading the script.
"Tch... I can't even trust the narrator anymore..." Akira muttered in annoyance.
*******
Meanwhile, still in Tokyo, our irresponsible goddess with questionable morals was in Akihabara handing out flyers.
"Mmmm... my femboy senses are tingling..." Uzaki muttered.
Marcus was surrounded by older women taking pictures with him because yes... the young and elegant servant was popular with middle-aged women.
"I didn't know I had that kind of power, my lord," he asked in disbelief.
Uzaki snapped her fingers, and time stopped.
"Marcus... we're missing the broadcast. My femboy senses say the plot is moving forward."
The young servant walked between the frozen people.
"That's very possible, considering the SPN subscription has already been paid for."
"We're leaving... I don't wanna miss Usagi's adventures."
"Are you sure? The payment is in a few days."
Uzaki bit the sleeves of her astral dress.
"Chi... we're leaving," she said while trying to sound cute as she opened a portal.
"As you command, my lord..." Marcus replied.
Both of them crossed through the portal, and time began moving again, but none of the people there remembered what they had been doing moments earlier.
Once inside Uzaki's dreamlike space, our goddess turned on the dusty old television, and the image of Akira walking through the dwarf city appeared with static interference.
"Marcus, prepare something for me to eat."
"Yes, milady," he replied with a bow. "Luckily, we managed to bring plenty of food."
Then Uzaki leaned closer to the television.
There, she could see the five characters of the story... but her eyes stopped on Momo.
"That is..."
"That's right, Marcus. We arrived just in time... the SPN will soon activate the second wife," Uzaki replied with a confident smile.
