Inside the cell, Michelle lay on the ground on her stomach with her eyes closed. "ANGEL... ANGEL..." a male voice said.
Michelle groaned a bit before slowly opening her eyes and sitting her head up. When Michelle's vision started clearing up, she saw CatNap staring at her, worried. "ANGEL..." he said.
Michelle slowly sat up and rubbed her head. "Ow... my head is killing me..." she said, lowly.
CatNap lowered his head to Michelle. "ARE YOU ALRIGHT...?" he asked.
Michelle slowly got up. "I'll be fine," she said before petting CatNap's head. "Thank you for your concern."
CatNap closed his eyes and purred, which made Michelle smile. After Michelle stopped petting CatNap, she looked at the cell door. "Are we?" she asked.
CatNap nodded. "WE'RE INSIDE THE PRISON..." he said before turning his head to the cell door. "I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR, BUT IT'S LOCKED..."
Michelle turned her head to the back and saw a large hole in the wall before approaching it. When Michelle poked her head out of the wall and turned her head to the right, she saw the back of a different cell and a dead end with gray walls.
Michelle turned her head to CatNap. "You wait here; I'll try to find a way to open that cell," she said.
CatNap nodded as Michelle got out of the cell before walking to the right; when she reached the dead end, she looked up and saw a handle.
Michelle aimed the blue hand at the handle and pulled the left trigger, launching it. After the blue hand grabbed the handle, Michelle pulled herself up.
When Michelle reached the top, she saw a corpse hanging on the wall with its wrists tied to wires and dried blood on the wall, which made her shudder. "I never thought I would get this close to human corpses..." she said, lowly.
Michelle looked forward and saw an upper floor with a vent on the right side. Michelle swung herself onto the upper floor and made the blue hand let go before landing on it and walking forward.
When Michelle was close to the vent, she crouched before crawling through it; she spotted a hole in the distance before approaching it.
When Michelle was close to the hole, she looked through it and saw a blue hand scanner near the cell and a few barrels over it. "That would explain why CatNap couldn't open it," she said before aiming the blue hand and pulling the left trigger.
The blue hand shot forward and touched the scanner; after it finished, the cell door opened a bit. CatNap pushed the cell door open, which pushed the barrels away. CatNap looked up and spotted Michelle in the vent. "THANK YOU, ANGEL..." he said.
Michelle smiled and nodded before crawling the other way. Soon after, Michelle got out of the vent and approached the ledge. Steam came out of a pipe, but Michelle was unfazed before jumping down.
The air jets activated before Michelle landed on the ground. After Michelle reentered the hole, she caught up to CatNap; the duo heard giggling, which made them look around.
CatNap growled with his ears pointed back as Michelle twisted the knob, switching from the purple hand to the orange hand. "I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get the hell out of this place," she said.
CatNap nodded as the duo walked to the right; Michelle spotted a cell door partially open, which made her approach it.
After Michelle pushed the cell door open, she saw a note on a small table next to a bed inside it, which made her approach it and pick it up. As Michelle read the note, CatNap looked at her through the opening. "A NOTE...?" he asked.
Michelle turned to CatNap. "More like a weekly checkup to whoever Experiment 1172 is," she said.
Michelle looked at the note. "I mean... unconsciously rubbing the fur on her arms as a response to stress, emotional dysregulation... she must've gone through a lot..." she continued.
Michelle placed the note back on the small table before leaving the cell and looking at CatNap. "We should keep going," she said.
CatNap nodded as the duo walked toward the other side. When the duo was close to a closed cell door, they heard banging, which made CatNap place his arm beside Michelle and glare at it with a growl, and his ears pointed back.
Michelle petted CatNap's arm. "It's OK, CatNap; whatever's on the other side isn't worth it," she said.
CatNap stared at the door before he raised his ears and the duo walked forward; soon after, they saw an open cell door, which made them quietly approach it.
As the duo got close to the opening, they saw two Nightmare Critters: one shaped like an alligator wearing a collar with a crossbones pendant on it and a zipper on its center, and the other shaped like a shark wearing a collar with a shark tooth pendant on it and a zipper on its center, inside the cell, eating a toy corpse.
Before CatNap did anything, Michelle held her arm out, which made him stop and look at her. Michelle turned her head to CatNap and placed a finger over her mouth before pointing at the cell door, which made him nod as he quietly reached for the cell door.
As CatNap placed his paw on the cell door, the Nightmare Critters turned to the duo with a growl before he closed it. After CatNap placed his paw on the ground, Michelle giggled a bit and petted his arm. "Good job, buddy," she said, which made him purr.
When Michelle looked forward, she saw a slightly open cell door, which made the duo approach it. After Michelle pushed the cell door open, the duo saw a large hole in the cell's floor. "That should get us to the lower part of this prison block," she said.
CatNap nodded before Michelle jumped down; when she landed on the ground, she spotted a couple of Ruined Critters eating a toy corpse near the open part of the cell door.
Michelle aimed the orange hand before shooting a flare at the ground, which scared them away. Michelle approached the cell door and placed her hands on it before pushing it open. After Michelle left the cell, CatNap landed on the ground before following her.
As Michelle looked around the area, she spotted a red hand scanner near a closed, barred door on the right side. "Well, I haven't seen a red hand scanner in a while," she said before looking at the barricaded path on the left. "That means there's a red hand around here somewhere."
Michelle turned her head to CatNap. "Think you can make a path through this barricade?" she asked.
CatNap chuckled before approaching the barricade. "CHILD'S PLAY..." he said.
CatNap extended his claws before digging them into the broken cell door, pulling it away, and setting it to the side. After CatNap moved the other debris away, he turned his head to Michelle. "IT'S DONE..." he said.
Michelle smiled. "Nice going, buddy," she said before the duo walked forward. "Now then, let's find ourselves a red hand."
Soon after, the duo entered a room with a few bunk beds and tables. Michelle opened the right hatch, which turned the flashlight on, before looking around. "This area looks like it was a sleeping quarters for the guards," she said.
When Michelle turned to the right, she saw a red hand near a corpse. As Michelle approached the red hand, she twisted the knob, switching from the orange hand to the empty slot.
When Michelle was close to the red hand, she picked it and put it in the empty slot. "Nice... I think the last time I saw my old red hand... Mommy dragged it away," she said. "Good to have you back."
Michelle twisted the knob, switching from the red hand to the orange hand, before approaching CatNap. "Let's head for that scanner," she continued, which made him nod.
As the duo left the resting quarters and Michelle closed the hatch, the intercoms started going off, which surprised them. "The subjects scramble for an advantage; they appear lost and disoriented," the Doctor said.
CatNap growled with his ears pointed back while Michelle looked around with her orange hand ready. "Heavy breathing is indicative of fear, and rightly so. Let's test the response to said fear when pushed into action," the Doctor continued.
The cell doors beside the duo started opening, which made them look at them. Soon after, Nightmare Critters and feral Mini Huggies started coming out of the cells and charged toward the duo.
CatNap quickly picked Michelle up by her jacket's hood with his mouth before swatting the smaller toys away. A few smaller toys tried jumping on Michelle, but CatNap quickly moved out of the way.
Michelle aimed the orange hand before shooting a few flares, which scared a few of them away. "We need to close those cell doors," she said.
CatNap nodded as he quickly approached an open door on the right and closed it. Soon after, CatNap approached the left side in the far back corner, and he closed the cell door.
A few smaller toys bit CatNap's lower legs, which made him growl and swat them away. Michelle shot five flares at the smaller toys, which scared them away. There's no end to these little bastards... she thought.
CatNap kept closing cell doors as they opened and swatted the smaller toys away while Michelle shot flares at them when she had a chance.
Soon after, a horde of smaller toys quickly approached the duo through the barricade opening. Before the duo could do anything, the intercom went off. "I've seen enough... thank you; you may proceed," the Doctor said.
The smaller toys started crawling toward the vents before entering them. Michelle stared at the vents with a sigh. "That's finally over..." she said, lowly.
CatNap placed Michelle back on the ground. "Let's get to that hand scanner," she continued.
CatNap nodded as the duo walked forward; when they reached the scanner, Michelle twisted the knob, switching from the orange hand to the red hand.
Michelle aimed the red hand at the scanner before pulling the right trigger, launching it, and touching it; soon after, the gate opened. Michelle turned her head to CatNap as the red hand retracted. "You wait out here," she said.
CatNap nodded as Michelle climbed the stairs; when she reached the top, she spotted the door, which made her approach it.
After Michelle opened the door, she saw a room with a large console at the center, a couple of chairs near it, and a whiteboard next to it. "This must be some sort of control room..." she said before entering.
When Michelle looked at the top right corner, she saw a cutout of a lion-like toy with a multicolored yarn mane, which made her smile. "It's Yarnaby," she continued before approaching the cutout.
When Michelle was close to the cutout, she pressed the button. "The name's Yarnaby! Would you Warn-a-be my friend?" it asked.
Michelle giggled. "Still adorable as always; I even have your plushy in my bag and always take care of your mane," she said.
Michelle stopped a bit before looking at the vault door on the other side with worry. "I hope the others are OK..." she said, lowly.
Michelle turned her head to a whiteboard before approaching it; when she was close to the whiteboard, she noticed a game of Hangman on it. Michelle glared at the whiteboard with gritted teeth. "Those assholes..." she said, lowly.
Michelle looked beside the hangman and saw the word 'CELL' under the lines. Michelle looked at the other part of the board with the word 'Assignments' above it, along with numbers corresponding to a letter.
Michelle looked at the word 'CELL' with a hum. "3-2-5-5... that's my code," she said before approaching the main console.
When Michelle was close to the keypad, she typed the code in, which made the case covering the red button open. When Michelle pressed the button, the vault door across from her started opening, which made her look at it. "That'll do it," she said before approaching the door.
After Michelle left the room, the upper gate started opening, which made her look at it; she stared at the gate before approaching the top of the stairs.
Michelle grabbed the railing and looked down. "CatNap, the vault door on the other side is open; climb up the hole that let us get to the lower level," she said.
"GOT IT, ANGEL..." CatNap said before Michelle heard his steps getting quieter, which made her approach the opening.
After Michelle went through the opening, she saw CatNap exit a cell, which made her sprint toward him. When Michelle caught up with CatNap, they approached the vault door and left the prison block.
