Chapter 339 - Chapter 339: Parallel World

After the exchange, Lusamine pleaded with Ace and the others to stay and help them reclaim their original homeland.

However, Ace and his companion were not from this world, so even though they had the ability to help them reclaim their homeland, Ace and Green politely declined. It wasn't that they were heartless; it was a matter of time.

According to Lusamine's account, the number of Ultra Beasts in the Alola region where they currently were amounted to roughly over a thousand. The ones Ace and the others had resolved were only a small fraction. Furthermore, aside from the large-bodied Ultra Beasts, the rest would also lie in wait and ambush.

With such a vast number, even if they lined up for Ace to defeat, it would still take a long time, not to mention the hidden Ultra Beasts, which would take time just to locate. On top of that, this was only the situation in the Alola region; the situation overseas was largely similar.

In this world heavily occupied by Ultra Beasts, unless Ace could wipe out all the Ultra Beasts in one go, they would essentially be impossible to clear out as they moved, hid, and reproduced. Ace and his companion could not afford to spend so much time in this world.

Rather than giving them a sliver of hope, it was better to let them create their own hope.

Lusamine was somewhat disappointed that she couldn't keep Ace and his companion, but compared to the Lusamine of their world, this world's Lusamine was very reasonable. Not only did she stop pressing the issue, but when Ace and his companion expressed their intention to leave, she warmly offered them some of their limited dry rations as a gift.

Ace and his companion naturally couldn't accept them. After all, the people here were already living a very hard life, and giving these dry rations to Ace and his companion would mean many people would likely go hungry.

Ace and Green left the underground space and returned to the surface.

Green looked back at the area behind her, sighing, "It's truly pitiful. Luckily, nothing like this has happened in our world."

"Indeed," Ace nodded and said, "However, Ultra Beasts still pop up in the Alola region from time to time. I can only hope that Ultra Beasts won't appear on a large scale."

The two put on their gas masks and walked forward.

The territory that once belonged to Guzzlord now had several Buzzwole sucking fluids from Guzzlord's body, which was now dead.

Looking at these Buzzwole, Ace sighed and said, "Let's do one last good deed before we leave."

With that, Ace tossed his special Poké Ball. Ninetales landed on the ruins, radiating high heat. Ninetales' nine tails were raised high, and nine streams of Flamethrower surged out, precisely engulfing the few Buzzwole that were feeding on Guzzlord.

Watching the Buzzwole struggle painfully in the flames, Ace recalled Ninetales and Zeraora, and he and Green returned to Lunala's back.

"Let's go."

As Ace patted Lunala's back, Lunala transformed into its Full Moon phase once more. The Ultra Wormhole reappeared, and Lunala carried Ace and Green away from this ravaged world.

Returning to the kaleidoscopic tunnel, Ace didn't hesitate, immediately instructing Lunala to dive into a nearby red portal.

...

Sinnoh, Mount Coronet.

A hole opened in the sky, and a figure rushed out, slowly descending onto the snow-covered summit of Mount Coronet.

"Hah."

Exhaling a breath and watching the white mist slowly dissipate, Green tightened her short sleeves and shorts, and said helplessly, "Where are we? It looks like winter."

"Sinnoh, Mount Coronet."

Ace merely scanned the entire mountain range and the distant scenery, instantly deducing their location. There was no helping it; as someone who was born in the Sinnoh region, Mount Coronet and the surrounding scenery were easily recognizable.

However, the climate right now was clearly winter, and aside from the thick white snow, there wasn't a living thing on the summit of Mount Coronet.

This situation left Ace somewhat perplexed. In the previous world, they were in the Alola region. Why, after choosing a red portal again, did they suddenly appear on Mount Coronet in Sinnoh?

Did the color determine the region?

Ace couldn't be sure, but since he was here, he had an idea: to take the opportunity to complete his main mission!

Explore the Ruined World!

While he wasn't sure if the main mission would be completed if done outside of his original world, Ace believed that even if it couldn't be completed, it would still be beneficial to scope out the path first and become familiar with the route.

But just as Ace was about to explore Mount Coronet, Lunala suddenly became anxious and restless.

As if it had sensed something, Lunala didn't wait for Ace to react and immediately flapped its wings, flying towards the sky.

"Wait! Lunala! There's no rush to leave!"

Ace tried to calm Lunala down, but Lunala had no intention of turning back. It instantly reverted to its Full Moon phase, carrying Ace and Green out of this world.

The moment Ace and his companion departed, a pitch-black fissure suddenly appeared on the summit of Mount Coronet. From within the fissure, six ribbon-like appendages extended, their tips blood red.

After sensing for a moment and finding nothing, the six ribbon-like appendages slowly retracted back into the fissure. Not until the ribbon-like structures had fully retreated did the fissure slowly close, as if nothing had ever happened.

Back in the tunnel, Ace released his 'Translator' Gardevoir. With Gardevoir's translation, Lunala explained to Ace why it had suddenly left.

"You're saying you felt uneasy, and a turbulent and violent force wanted to attack us?"

After hearing Gardevoir's translation, Ace frowned, and Green also fell into contemplation. If what Lunala said was true, then why would that entity want to attack them?

To that world, Ace and Green were complete strangers, making it impossible for them to have made enemies with any person or Pokémon.

"Perhaps, that's precisely why."

After a long period of thought, Ace suddenly spoke. "It's because we are foreign existences to that world, which is why the entity attacked us."

"You mean, something like a Guardian?" Green also reacted, saying, "Then who attacked us?"

"Mount Coronet, combined with some legends of the Sinnoh region, it was probably Giratina." Ace sighed, roughly guessing who had made the move.

But even if he knew, so what? Ace couldn't just fight Giratina, could he?

What about his main mission then?

Ace clicked his tongue. It seemed his main mission was destined to be impossible to complete in other worlds; he would still have to return and make a trip to Sinnoh.
