They were supposed to have it all under control. No... HE was supposed to have everything under control.
Amara had successfully dragged Kyren through a dimensional rift that the naive king had torn open himself as a last resort to defeat the augmented witch soldiers they sent to Silver Pine forest.
Then his wife, in all her benevolence, bound Kyren to a dimensional pocket space outside space time, keeping him in order with Divinanite and Silver.
"We have him here now." Garrick's voice echoed through the boundless dark space, turning away from Kyren's unconscious form bound to the wall. "Defenceless. Why don't we—"
"Oh, my sweet Garrick." Amara cooed, black cloak billowing around her as she took slow steps forward. "Don't tell me you're going to suggest we kill our own son?"

Garrick squinted at her heart-shaped face, shaking his head quickly. "N–No! Of course, not. I mean, he's..." He snapped his neck back to Kyren.
