"Make sure Jim Hammond doesn't get close to you! He can burn you to a crisp!"
As the Captain spoke, he hurled his shield, striking the leg of the fleeing Strucker to prevent his escape as much as possible.
He then charged forward, dodging a strike from the Grim Reaper before landing a punch squarely on the villain's face. The Captain felt immediately that his strike had little effect.
Is this guy a Super Soldier?
The Grim Reaper smiled and swung his scythe at the Captain. Cap dodged with a short back-step, catching his shield as it flew back to him.
Venom-Black Cat immediately took over the fight, extending symbiote claws to slash at the Grim Reaper. However, the Grim Reaper seemed to know exactly how to handle a symbiote. The scythe on his right arm emitted a sharp, high-pitched noise, causing the Venom on Felicia's body to begin to boil and churn.
Sylvia fired a continuous stream of bullets that struck the Grim Reaper's scythe. Meanwhile, the Captain stood behind Black Cat, raising his shield to block the flames of the original Human Torch before throwing the shield at him.
The metal was now so hot it was almost impossible to hold.
Ignoring Black Cat, who was nearly incapacitated by the sonic waves, the Grim Reaper lunged toward Silver Sable, who was charging forward while firing. After depleting her magazine, Silver Sable drew a dagger strapped to her thigh and used it to parry the scythe.
Simultaneously, she pressed her left hand against the pistol at her waist, firing it without drawing it. Noticing her movement, the Grim Reaper hurriedly leaped back to evade.
Then, he was snatched up by a massive monster.
"Who killed the Cat Burglar!"
The giant beast before him bared its fangs and roared at the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper froze for a moment, suddenly realizing something, and let out a raspy laugh.
"Ah, I remember. That thief, right? You're his daughter? How old were you ten years ago? Seven or eight? It's impressive you remembered this until now."
"You never saw your father's body, did you? I did. He sure could run; even I couldn't catch him. But so what? In the end, he became a piece of charcoal that no one cared about, easily smashed into—ARGH!!!"
The Grim Reaper's mechanical prosthetic limb was torn off. He shrieked in panic: "It was the Torch who did it! He's flying right there!"
The towering Venom-Black Cat cast the Grim Reaper aside. Glaring at the Human Torch in the sky, she hoisted a nearby car and hurled it at him.
Then, she let out a primal roar.
Watching this, Sylvia let out a helpless sigh. She picked up her rifle, reloaded, and walked over to Baron Strucker, who was clutching his wound and trying to crawl away. She leveled her gun at him.
"You're under arrest, Strucker. You can choose to resist; I don't mind gunning down a Hydra leader."
"You wouldn't dare," Strucker said raspily, suddenly lunging toward Sylvia with his Satan Claw. "Because my brain contains things you need... just as I need your life."
Sylvia pulled the trigger without a moment's hesitation. The bullet shattered Strucker's leg. Without turning her head, she reloaded and looked toward Black Cat, who was still battling the original Human Torch.
A severely damaged symbiote against the ancient Human Torch—the battle was almost entirely one-sided in the latter's favor. The Torch continuously dodged the objects thrown by Venom-Black Cat and the Captain's flying shield. Finally, seizing an opening, he dived straight toward Black Cat.
The massive Venom form was slammed by the Human Torch. She wrapped her arms around him, enduring the scorching heat, and pulled out the specialized rocket Sylvia had brought, stabbing it violently into the Human Torch.
The intense heat instantly melted the rocket's casing, but the liquid nitrogen inside immediately spilled out, beginning to cool him down. The expressionless Torch continued to strike at the Venom-Black Cat before him.
Even though his temperature had dropped and his size was smaller than the giant monster, it didn't stop him from landing one flaming punch after another on her body.
Peter, arriving on the scene, never expected to witness this. He immediately attached a web line to Venom-Black Cat and pulled her back.
"Stop charging in! You're only hurting yourself doing this!"
But clearly, looking at the way the symbiote was roiling over Felicia's body, she likely couldn't understand his words. As for the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond, he didn't look like he was merely brainwashed; as an android, he had likely been completely rebuilt into a weapon.
The Venom-Felicia simply severed the webbing on her body, intending to charge forward again. But Peter held her back with raw strength, letting the Captain and Sylvia move to intercept the Torch first.
"Stop it, Felicia! Whatever you want to do, don't do it in a way that hurts you like this!"
Peter, still holding Felicia back, channeled bio-electricity into his fist and punched the Venom face, trying to snap Felicia out of it. He soon heard her voice, a roar layered with the symbiote's growl.
"What would you do if that were your enemy!"
What if the person standing there wasn't the original Human Torch, but the Winter Soldier?
What if the opponent bragged to you about how they killed your loved ones, describing their final moments with contempt and mockery?
How would you stay rational?!
"If that time ever comes, I'll have to count on you guys."
Peter looked at Felicia and said softly, "At that time, perhaps you will do what I am doing now—stopping my friend from hurting herself. Because I know that besides revenge, she still has many things to do."
Peter reached out toward the massive symbiote, making a downward pressing gesture. "No one is going to stop your revenge, Felicia, but don't hurt yourself. Trust me. Calm down. I'm not here to stop you; I'm on your side."
Peter watched as the massive symbiote gradually shrank and receded, finally turning back into a layer of symbiote clothing over Felicia's suit.
"Captain? Sylvia? Make some room. We need to finish that guy off!"
"Do you have a way, Spider-Man?"
"Of course, Captain. We're relying on Venom." Peter looked at Felicia, who had just come to her senses. "As a master thief, can you use the symbiote to steal the air?"
Hearing this, Felicia looked at Peter, thought for a moment, and nodded.
"Action!"
With Peter's command, the Captain was the first to strike, drawing the enemy's fire and using his shield to block the Torch's flames. Sylvia shouldered the discarded launcher and fired a cryo-rocket at the Torch, reducing the risk of his high temperatures.
In silence, Felicia released the symbiote from her hands, enveloping the space around Jim Hammond. Utilizing the symbiote's properties as a molecular organism, she forcibly expelled all the air within that space.
The flames were completely extinguished.
