Adam looked down at Nada's corpse before he said in a flat tone, "Honestly, I wouldn't have minded disintegrating you, but then Ayana Keita and the heads of the other five families wouldn't get my message."
As he finished speaking, Adam bent down and grabbed Nada by the ankle again before he flew out through the windowless opening.
As he hung in the air, he casually let go of Nada's ankle and watched her corpse plummet towards the ground for a few moments before he turned and flew back towards the cloaked shuttle that was still waiting nearby.
[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Huh? Why did he do that? 😵💫]
Many people had started to gather at the base of the Burj Khalifa, but it wasn't because of the dead body, since the police had already cordoned off that area and erected a tent to hide it from view.
It was, in fact, because of the video that had been posted online of a woman falling from the air only to be caught by a humanoid figure with wings before they flew back up into the sky.
While many people thought it was a hoax, many more thought it was from a movie being filmed since they recognised the woman who fell as a member of the Keita family and a famous model, Nada Keita.
It had already been announced that Nada Keita would be starring in Jordan Jacob's next movie, which was scheduled to start filming next week. So many people assumed that this was leaked footage from another movie she was starring in.
"Damn it, it looks like they have already wrapped up shooting."
"Agreed, all the equipment and personnel are gone."
"How on earth did they clear up so fast?"
"Well, this is a major tourist attraction; it was probably part of their agreement to clear away all the equipment before morning."
"I wonder what sort of movie they were filming."
"It looked like a superhero movie to me."
"I'm going with SciFi."
As they complained about being late to see the filming and discussed what sort of movie it could have been, someone suddenly looked up before asking, "What's that?"
As those nearby heard the question, they couldn't help but look up and see something plummeting towards the ground.
"What is that?"
"Ohhh, maybe they are still filming."
"Then where are all the crew and equipment?"
"Who cares, I can't wait to see Nada Keita get saved at the last minute like in that video."
"Errr, they're cutting it kinda close, don't ya think?"
As people started to grow concerned, they witnessed Nada Keita impact the ground immediately, causing them to scream and cry out in shock before panic ensued.
"Well, that was interesting to watch," Rowena said with a smirk as Adam boarded the shuttle again.
"I certainly wasn't expecting that to be the reason for my attempted kidnapping," Emma stated.
"You're taking this rather well," Aphrodite observed.
"It's not the first time someone has tried to kill me," Emma replied before adding with a smirk, "though it is the first time I've heard such a ridiculous reason for it."
"Really?" Adam asked.
"Yes," Emma replied before explaining. "It was back when I was first making a name for myself after the success I had with the Blue Lagoon club.
A rival of mine who was slightly larger in the business world wanted to acquire the Blue Lagoon club, but after I rejected their offer, they hired someone to try and take me out.
Fortunately, my rival didn't seem to think I was worth spending much money to take me out and purchased a rookie assassin who messed up and was discovered. The assassin then cracked under police interrogation and evidence was found linking my rival to them.
As an interesting side note, I ended up acquiring their business after they were sent to jail."
[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Really? I don't remember hearing about that.]
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): It happened years ago, I'm guessing you're to young to remember.]
"Guess it comes with being rich and successful," Adam remarked.
"So why did you throw her body back down to the ground?" Lorelie asked curiously as she changed the subject.
"To send them another warning and this time a public one," Emma answered in place of Adam.
"Public one? You mean her dead body lying in the street?" Lorelie asked.
"That's right," Emma nodded before explaining, "When Adam killed Viktor and Francis Morose, he did so by shooting down the aircraft while it was over the ocean and so it was easy for the Morose family to cover it up by claiming that the aircraft went down because of technical issues. The last thing any of the families wants is for it to become known that there is someone out there who can challenge them.
This time, however, Adam dumped Nada Keita's body in the middle of a crowded street for all to see. That's something that is impossible for the Keita family to cover up because the story is already flooding social media and the news sites. Look."
As she finished speaking, Emma held up her phone and showed them all the headline from one of the news sites.
[[BREAKING NEWS: Nada Keita Found at the base of Burj Khalifa.]]
"They will probably still find some way to twist it," Adam remarked as he glanced at the headline before heading for the pilot's seat.
"Then why do it at all?" Eri asked.
"To show them that I don't fear them and I'm not above killing them or their family," Adam replied as he piloted the shuttle towards the giant crater that had once been Montgomerie Golf Course.
"Going to visit this Ayana Keita?" Rowena asked with a smirk.
"Well, she does need to decide whether to kill her lover or let Adam do it," Aphrodite remarked while also smirking.
"You all really don't seem at all concerned about all these deaths," Emma remarked.
"As has been explained in Adam's stream chat in the past, the universe is not a nice place and death is a common occurrence," Rowena explained before asking, "Plus, why should we care about someone we don't know, especially if they have conspired against our loved one?"
"I see your point, but I still find it difficult to grasp that concept," Emma replied.
"You will, once you have spent time out in the universe," Stacey remarked.
"NAAAAADDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAA!" Kareem Badawi screamed in grief as he heard the news about his daughter's body being found at the foot of the Burj Khalifa.
"Damn bastard, I can't believe he actually killed her," Ayana cursed angrily as she looked up at the sky before turning to Kareem and saying, "Shut up, you fool, this is all your doing."
"What now, Ayana?" An attractive woman who was Ayana's assistant and friend asked.
"NOW?" Kareem shouted before saying, "Now we tell the whole world how that bastard killed my daughter."
"I told you to shut up," Ayana snapped before continuing, "Are you trying to make an enemy out of him?"
"We are already not on the best of terms," Ayana's assistant stated.
"True, I'm starting to regret not listening to that bitches suggestion," Ayana replied.
"It does seem that Lady Flemming was correct on this occasion," Ayana's assistant replied.
"Whose side are you on, Dana?" Ayana asked in annoyance.
"Don't ask stupid questions," Dana replied before looking at Kareem and asking, "What do you plan to do with him?"
"What are you even asking, Dana Ansari. You can't seriously be suggesting that Ayana kills me as that bastard told her to?" Kareem retorted as he glared at Dana before adding, "You have always been against our relationship."
"And for good reason, you're basically just a sugar baby," Dana stated before continuing, "I warned Ayana that you would bring nothing but trouble, though even I admit that I didn't expect you to cause this much trouble.
Seriously, using your own daughter in that way just to improve your own position in the family, what sort of father are you?"
"A failure of one," Ayana added as she looked at Kareem with disappointment.
"Ayana…." Kareem began, only for Ayana to interrupt him.
"Enough. I wont kill you because of our past history, but I can't put the family at risk just for you either."
"So what do you plan to do?" Dana asked again.
"Get a car and driver and send him to the airport," Ayana replied.
"Ayana, you can't," Kareem protested.
"It's either that or you end up dead, if not by my hands, then by Adam Spencers," Ayana replied before adding, "At least this way you have a chance to survive."
Dana sighed before adding, "You never could do what was necessary when it came to this sugar trash."
"Sugar trash," Kareem responded in offence.
"Perhaps, but could you kill someone you love?" Ayana asked.
"Perhaps not, but that's why I'm your assistant," Dana replied before she pulled out a gun and pointed it at Kareem's forehead, before pulling the trigger as she said, "I do what you're incapable of doing."
