Roberto's phone buzzed, cutting off their conversation. A new message notification flashed across the screen. He opened it and found a photograph of a black car trailing right behind Nathaniel's vehicle.
"Is this the same car that was following you that day?" Roberto asked, holding the phone up so Nathaniel could see.
Nathaniel narrowed his eyes at the image. The moment the car came into focus, he recognized it instantly. "Yes, that's the one. Who is the driver?"
Roberto swiped to the next picture, revealing the person behind the wheel. He stared for a moment, stunned, before his expression twisted in irritation.
"I should have known," he grumbled, passing the phone to Nathaniel. "It's him—Jaxon."
Nathaniel's frown deepened as he studied the photo. "So it was him. For a moment, I thought Zachary might have sent someone else to kill me."
