Chapter 35 - Ch 35: Preparations for the Raid

After learning about the Shadeshifters, the benifit that Weiss wanted the most by destroying them was not the money that this organisation had accumulated but actually the slaves themselves.

Other than the money, one another vital thing that Weiss's Souran territory lacked was people. The population of the territory was extremely low and most of the people were regular farmers or hunters.

But among the slaves, a decent amount of them had knowledge about various different jobs like carpenter, seamstress and such.

These people would be a very valuable asset to the Souran territory that was way more important that a little bit of money.

That was why Weiss wanted to free these slaves and turn them into the citizen of her territory. According to Ganz, there were hundreds of slaves and that number would definitely give the Souran territory a much needed boost.

So Weiss did not just need to kill the leaders, she also needed to make sure that she was capable of taking away most if not all of the slaves and could bring them to her far away territory.

So first, she gave Karl the task of selling all the materials that they had brought. Previously Weiss wanted to do a bit of research on the market before selling them but now time was of most importance.

And as Ganz was already a long term resident of this city, the prices he knew were quite accurate. So there really was no need to waste much time on these items.

While Karl was doing it, Weiss went to buy the medicine making equipments and other things that she needed.

Weiss did not have enough money to buy them without selling the things in the carriage at the beginning but with the generous donations that she had gotten from the bandit hideout, that was not a problem anymore.

As for Ganz, during this time, he was sent back to the Shadeshifters to set up a few things before Weiss's grand entrance.

Other than two official knight level leaders, Ganz definitely had the highest authority in the organisation. So as long as he was not doing anything that could attract the attention of the two main leaders, he was capable of doing anything he wanted there.

So, to take advantage of that, Weiss had sent Ganz here with three missions for the time being.

Firstly he needed to make sure that all or at least most of the slaves were close to one another so that it would be easier for Weiss to take them away.

Secondly, Ganz was also given the task of gathering as much of the organisation's funds as he could. Even if he was not allowed to take the money, just knowing the location where it was kept would be enough.

After Shadeshifters were destroyed, Weiss could just collect them as all those funds would be ownerless by then.

And then finally Ganz also needed to try and gather as many of the higher ups of the Shadeshifters as he could in the same location.

Weiss did not want any of the higher ups to run away and allow them to trouble her in the future. As she was planning to destroy this organisation, she was going to do it thoroughly.

...

While Ganz was busy doing the set ups and Karl was busy selling the things they had brought from the Souran territory, Weiss was also busy checking out and buying the things that she needed.

As now she had more than enough funds, she was not holding back at all and was buying all the things that she found useful. None of these were wastes and would help Weiss with her research.

During this shopping trip, Weiss was using a disguise. Her black hair and beautiful looks were quite recognisable so she was using a wig and a face cover to hide them.

After buying a lot of equipments, she paid 11 gold coins for them and asked the shopkeeper sent those items in a house located in the outskirts of the city.

This house belonged to Ganz and no one else was awere of it even in his organisation. So as the inn room would not have enough space to store the things Weiss was buying, she was using that house as a storage.

After buying the equipments, Weiss next went to a shop selling weapons. The shopkeeper here was quite dismissive of her because she was a little girl.

But after telling him that she was not buying weapon for herself and instead was getting them for someone else, he finally paid some attention to her. And then when Weiss show him a bag full of gold coins, his attitude changed completely.

Weiss did not buy any of the fancy looking weapons that this man was recommending. Instead she bought a few sturdy looking mass produced swords and spears. She also bought a decent amount of arrows as they were very important for both her and the hunters.

Weiss was really hoping that among the slaves she was planning to rescue, there would at least be one blacksmith. He or she did not even need to be a very good one.

Weiss very badly needed to blacksmith who could forge arrowheads for her. Coming to the city to buy them whenever she was about to run out was a massive waste of time.

After buying the weapons, Weiss went to a clothing store to order quite a few ready made clothing and also a lot of fabric. With the new residents she was planning to take in, she would need a lot of clothing for them.

Most of the clothing she bought were of mediocre quality with a cheap price but she did buy a few high quality ones too as gifts. As for her own clothing, she did not buy any as a noble's clothing was unnecessarily fancy and uselessly expensive.

Next thing that she needed was more carriages to carry people. But Weiss was not going to buy that. A little girl like her buying things like weapon was not very unusual because it was not uncommon for the parents to send their children to buy things like that as experience.

But buying a carriage was a big deal and no one would ever send a child to do it. That was why Weiss had left this task to Karl.

After selling the items, he would take the carriage to a place selling carts and carriages and would buy a few of them while acting as a merchant.

Fortunately Ganz's house was large enough to store so many carts and carriages or storing them would have been very troublesome.

So, after buying the clothes, Weiss carried them herself and started to go toward Ganz's house. There she would meet up with Karl and would wait for Ganz to be done with his tasks. After that it would be time for action.
