Chapter 174 - Chapter 172: The Bad Mother

The Doctor still hadn't let go of Danni's hand, even as he walked purposefully down the hallway towards the lift, his face set in his serious 'I mean business' look. It did mean that Danni had to jog slightly to keep up with his long strides, but she didn't really want to let go either. He hadn't been like this for a while, not since she'd come back from Clara's, but she could tell that he needed her there for the time being. It was the way he held her hand, no different from normal and yet just slightly tighter. It was the glancing at her from the corner of his eye as he walked, as if he was just checking she was still there. It was something she'd first noticed when she'd been jumping, it was just his way of reassuring himself that she was still there. He had so many people come and go out of his life, she could understand his need to check on the constants in his life. That was definitely her now, wasn't it?

She glanced back at Clara, who was walking just behind Jenny as Madame Vastra told them what she'd found out. She'd not been idle while her and Jenny had been sneaking into the building, having gone to investigate some of the deaths - and visited the same undertaker as the Doctor if her descriptions were anything to be believed. The young girl did seem to be taking everything in her stride, but it didn't stop Danni worrying about her.

"My people once ruled this world, as well you know." Madame Vastra was saying as the Doctor rummaged in his top pocket with his free hand, pulling out his screwdriver, "But we did not rule it alone. Just as humanity fights a daily battle against nature, so did we." They came to the lift, Danni pressing the button while the Doctor scanned for anything out of the ordinary. Well, more out of the ordinary than before, "And our greatest plague, the most virulent enemy was the repulsive red leech."

"Ooh!" The Doctor exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear as he thought on the name. An excellent name for a bad guy, "The repulsive red leech!" He looked down at the Danni, who shook her head, telling him to stop seeming so happy while there were people in danger. He nodded and she smiled, glad that he'd finally cottoned onto the seriousness of the situation., "Nah. On balance, I think I prefer the Crimson Horror." She rolled her eyes. What a child, "What was it exactly?" He asked Vastra.

"A tiny parasite. It infected our drinking water. And once in our systems, it secreted a fatal poison." Vastra explained, a hiss in her voice showing just how much she hated the creature, even after all this time.

"But, how's it survived this long?" Danni asked, "Surely it should have died out by now."

"Not necessarily." The Doctor told her, placing a kiss on her hair, "If it's been hanging around, lurking in the shadows, maybe it's evolved." He reasoned, his voice dropping to a whisper as he worked through the many ideas that were flying through his head, "Or maybe it's had help."

"Doctor, I've been thinking, the chimney..." Clara started but the Doctor shook his head.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Way past that now!" He quickly dismissed, "Yucky red parasite from the time of the dinosaurs pitches up in Victorian Yorkshire." He looked up at Vastra, "Didn't see that one coming!"

"Yeah, but the chimney..." Clara tried again but the Doctor still didn't want to listen. Danni leant to one side, up against Clara who looked slightly offended at being ignored.

"He won't listen unless you get his attention, sweetie." She whispered.

"How do I do that?" Clara whispered in reply as the Doctor started clicking the fingers on his free hand, trying to make the thoughts come together. He was so close, the answer was just out of reach and it was so frustrating.

"Like this." Danni replied, shooting her a cheeky smile before reaching up, grabbing the front of his shirt. He yelped in surprise as she pulled him down to meet her lips, placing a very quick kiss on his, moving her head back before he could deepen it further, "Clara has something to say, sweetie." She told her husband, who looked slightly dazed. He nodded, turning to look at Clara who seemed rather amused by the pair. He cleared his throat, hoping he wasn't flushed.

"Yes, Clara?" He asked.

She grinned, "A chimney that doesn't blow smoke." She told him purposefully, as if it answered everything.

"Oh, that is brilliant." Danni breathed after a moment as the trio all looked at the ceiling simultaneously, "Oh, that is very brilliant." Mrs Gillyflower had gone to a lot of trouble to make the factory look and sound like it was working, full of the people she was taking and preserving. If the chimney wasn't blowing smoke, a symbol of a productive factory, there had to be a reason why.

"Missed me?" Clara asked the pair and Danni nodded.

"Yeah, lots!" She cried, pulling her hand from the Doctor and chucking her arms around the other woman, "Oh Clara, you are magnificent!" The Doctor watched his wife, a small smile on his face despite the distinct loss he felt at her hand no longer being in his. She looked so happy, as she always should.

"Well, yeah, a little bit." Clara replied smugly as the lift arrived. The Doctor threw the metal cage door open with his normal flourish, stepping in, followed by Jenny and Vastra. Clara was next, then Danni who he pulled up to him as he pushed the door shut again. Danni giggled in delight as he quickly set the lift in motion, dipping his head once again. Clara wrinkled her nose - did they have to do that in front of her? - while Jenny and Vastra shared a look of exasperation. Every time.

The factory floor was actually quite busy, Mrs Gillyflower's minions heading around the place gracefully and not speaking unless absolutely necessary. The Doctor had led them behind some discarded machinery, probably some sort of prop to keep up the pretence of it being an actual factory. The room was pretty dark, shadows covering every surface and they all had to squint slightly to take it all in as they crouched down to remain undetected.

"She's going to poison the air!" The Doctor told them all before any of them even had a chance to ask about it.

"How?" Jenny asked from his side as they watched one of Mrs Gillyflower's cronies pull a lever. A large metal staircase was suddenly illuminated. It surrounded a very large, rather crude rocket.

"With that, I should think." Clara stated, sounding slightly surprised from his other side. Danni was behind the pair, her hand on his shoulder just to let him know that she was there.

"'And judgement shall rain down...'" Danni whispered, horrified. The Doctor clicked his fingers, pointing up at her to let her know she was on the right train of though. Across from them two of the people put a large item down, pulling the cloth off the top to reveal a glowing red substance in a glass flask.

"And there's the poison." The Doctor declared. "All right, gang, I've got a plan." All at once they stood up, an unspoken command keeping them perfectly in tune. Danni winced as her elbow his something on one of the surfaces behind her, knocking it onto the floor with a loud clank. They all dropped back down again.

"Sorry." She whispered.

The Doctor held a finger to his lips, "Shh!" They all waited a moment, but no one came over to investigate. The Doctor checked the two women on either side of him, reaching up to his shoulder to feel for Danni's hand. She squeezed his shoulder in reassurance, so he nodded, "OK." He commanded and they all stood up again, slower this time.

"What's this magical plan of yours?" Danni whispered as they shuffled as a group towards the door.

"While you me and," he stepped around some more discarded metal, "Clara go and pay Mrs Gillyflower a visit, our esteemed colleagues are going to make sure that poison does not get onto that rocket."

"That shouldn't be too difficult." Madame Vastra replied, her expert eyes already taking in all the possible hiding places and weaknesses they could exploit.

"Yeah, leave it to us!" Jenny added, already grinning to herself. She adored this part.

When the Doctor opened the door to the next hallway on the way to where he suspected Mrs Gillyflower would be, the sound of someone crying hit their ears. Behind them sat Mrs Gillyflower's daughter, huddled into herself as she softly sobbed. Her head snapped up at the sound of the door and she looked around with unseeing eyes, trying to locate the source of the sound.

"Who's that? Who is there?" She asked, sounding quite afraid at being found so vulnerable. Danni put a hand on the Doctor's arm, gently pushing him towards her. He'd told them that she had taken quite the shine to the Time Lord after saving him from the canal, she was positive his presence would calm her down.

The Doctor shot his wife a smile before crouching down in front of Ada, gently putting a hand on her arm to show her he was there. She jumped, but he slowly took her hand, patting it reassuringly before lifting it to his face. Danni watched the confusion on her face as she felt the shape of his face - really, anyone would recognise that chin- before putting her other hand on his face.

"You. It's you! My monster." She whispered happily, "You've come back! But you're..."

"Warm. And alive." He finished, "Thanks to you, Ada. You saved me from your mother's human rubbish tip." At the mention of her mother she seemed to start crying again, her head bowing, "Now, what's wrong?"

"She does not want me, monster!" She sobbed, heartbroken, "I am not to be chosen. Perhaps it was my own sin, the blackness in my heart, that my father saw in me."

"Ada, no." He denied, recognising someone trying to give reason to their abuse. She had done nothing wrong, no one deserved to be hurt like this woman obviously had. He'd seen Danni do the same, for her fate at the hands of the Master, and the way she would skip over what he had done to her after Manhattan, "That's nonsense. Stupid, backwards nonsense, and you know it!" He reached out, taking her face in his hands like he had so many disheartened humans, "You know it." He frowned, seeing the scars properly for the first time. They didn't look like the result of a drunken rage. They looked more precise, and much more intentional.

He looked up at Danni, who had noticed his interest in the scars but he had moved on from them for now. He held his hand out for her and she walked over, crouching down. He placed the hand he held onto Ada's arm, "Ada, this is my wife, my Danielle." He told her gently, "This is who you saved me for. She would have been all alone, but you saw that I wasn't worth discarding. That is not blackness." Ada had turned, as if she was looking at Danni.

"You're married to my monster?" She asked the other woman, "You are very lucky indeed. I'm sure there will be a place for you in paradise."

"I am very lucky." Danni agreed, "But I don't think there will be." She placed Ada's hand on her cheek, making sure she could feel the frame of her glasses, "I'm afraid my eyes aren't that much better than yours, sweetie. If this 'paradise' isn't for everyone, I'm not sure I want to go at all."

"You see, Ada?" The Doctor continued, "You have a wonderful soul. Now, I need you tell me something - who is Mr Sweet?" She turned her head away from him, biting her lip as she visibly looked torn, "Ada?"

"Oh, dear monster..." She whispered.

"Please. Tell me." He almost begged but she shook her head.

"I cannot! Even now, I cannot! I cannot betray Mama." She replied apologetically, as if asl she wanted to do was tell him. He sighed, shaking his head sadly, knowing that her mother did not deserve such loyalty.

"Well, come with us, then." He told her, standing up and helping Danni to her feet, "There's something you need to know."

~0~0~0~

Mr Sweet, the leech as the Doctor had suspected, had latched itself onto Mrs Gillyflower a long time ago. She had found him in a river, and had decided to let it attach onto her in return for being fed. It was... well, he'd liked to have said a unique relationship but he did know a lovely species who made friends in a very similar way. There was no death and destruction, but the symbiotic relationship was pretty spot on.

He sat down next to her as she fed him some raw meat, "Mrs Gillyflower, you have no idea what you're dealing with!" He warned her, "In the wrong hands, that venom could wipe out all life on this planet!"

"Do you know what these are?" She asked him in reply, holding her hands out in front of her, palm up. His brows furrowed and she giggled happily, "The wrong hands!" She stood up, heading over to a lever on the machine at the far end of the room. The Doctor headed over to the window as the gears and cogs in the machine whirred into life. In the distance, the chimney with no smoke began to light up with a line of red lights running from top to bottom.

"Planning a little fireworks party, are we?" He asked darkly, knowing it was anything but.

"You've forced me to advance the Great Work somewhat, Doctor." Mrs Gillyflower replied as Clara took a quick look out off the window as well. They had known something very peculiar was going on, but she would have never guessed anything on such a grand scale, "But my colossal scheme remains as it was. My rocket will explode high in the atmosphere, raining down Mr Sweet's beneficence onto all humanity." She waved her hand in front of her, looking disgusted at the thought of all the people she was going to be killing.

"And wiping us all out!" Clara exclaimed, starting towards the older woman but the Doctor grabbed her hand, stopping her in her tracks. Her strong reaction had his holding onto her hand tightly, proud at how horrified she was at the thought of all those people dying, "You can't!"

"My new Adam and Eves will sleep for but a few months," Mrs Gillyflower continued as if Clara hadn't protested at all, "before stepping out into a golden dawn." She clasped her hands joyfully in front of her, "Is it not beautiful, Doctor?"

The Doctor let go of Clara to clap his hands sarcastically, taking a couple of steps towards the old woman, "Tell us about Ada, Mrs Gillyflower."

~0~0~0~

Outside the door, Danni held her hand clasped on top of Ada's as their arms were linked together. Ada was, understandably, very anxious but Danni was doing her best to reassure her.

"If I could just talk to Mama, perhaps I can convince her to postpone her plan." The woman whispered nervously. Danni gave her hand a little squeeze, glancing at the door.

"The Doctor has a very specific plan." She whispered in reply, "One that needs you to wait until he's spoken with your mother." And one she wished he'd enlightened her to. Ada had a good point, maybe she could have helped, but the Doctor had been very insistent, saying that Mrs Gillyflower would be more open without her daughter there to manipulate, but wouldn't say no more about it. She hoped he knew what he was doing.

"Tell me about Ada." He asked on the other side of the door and Danni stepped a little closer, as if she would be able to hear him better. Why was he asking about her?

"How can you speak of such trivia when my hour is at hand? The child is of no consequence." Mrs Gillyflower declared and Danni winced slightly as Ada whimpered, hurt. That was unnecessary, Doctor, she hoped he was going somewhere with this.

"Is that why you experimented on her?" He asked and Danni's mouth fell open slightly. What?!

"Experimented?" Ada asked quietly, "Not Mama, surely not Mama."

"-You used her as a guinea pig, didn't you?" The Doctor was asking, his tone demanding as Danni stepped closer to Ada.

"Oh, Ada, I'm so sorry." She whispered.

"Sometimes, sacrifices must be made." Mrs Gillyflower defended and Danni tried to wrap her arms around Ada for a hug. However, the woman shrugged out of her grasp.

"I want to speak to Mama." She declared firmly.

"I don't think that's a good..." Ada stepped forward, opening the door, "Oh, we're going in anyway, okay then." She held the door open for Ada, who entered the room to listen to her mother's cold words.

"It was necessary! I had to find out how much of the venom would produce an anti-toxin. To immunise myself! Don't you see? It was necessary!" Mrs Gillyflower snapped. The Doctor was stood in front of her and even Danni, with her limited abilities, could feel the fury rolling off him. Clara was just off to the side, looking absolutely appalled and Danni was once again glad of her as the choice of companion. No real mother would use her child to save herself, her mum would have never done that!

Well, her biological mum might have. But her real mum? Not a chance!

"Mama?" Ada asked, pulling the evil woman's attention to her, "Is it... Is it true?"

"Ada." Mrs Gillyflower sighed, like Ada was overreacting. She stepped down from her platform, heading to her daughter who looked like she'd been kicked in the stomach.

"It is. It's true. True."

"Ada, listen to me." Mrs Gillyflower started and Danni stepped forward, ready to step in between the two if she needed to. However, Ada was not as fragile as she'd first appeared, her face contorting into an snarl of pure fury.

"You hag!" She shouted as she stormed in the direction of her mother's voice, "You perfidious hag! You virago! You harpy!" Mrs Gillyflower looked almost offended by the names her daughter was throwing at her, but Danni just beamed happily. Good on Ada. If only she had the guts to do the same to her 'so-called' mother! She rushed over to the Doctor's side, taking his hand once again as Ada continued to scream all her anguish.

"Oh, I like her." Danni told him, "Think I can set her on River?" He looked down at her, surprised at the pleased grin as Ada began to strike her mother with her cane, pushing her into the door on the other side of the room. He knew she was imagining it was River, but he knew from over a thousand years experience that nothing was as it seemed, especially when it came to Melody Pond. He didn't blame Danni for being angry, but it had been so long. He didn't want her to be as full of hate as he was. He needed to do something about that. He needed to get her to talk to River. If anything, it was another person to be there for her after he was gone. That had been something he'd thought about over the last few weeks as well. Who would have been there for his Danni-Girl if he didn't go back.

First, though, he needed to calm Ada down. However, Clara saw their advantage, knowing that Ada's attack was a good distraction from Mrs Gillyflower's own. She looked around, seeing a dining chair and picked it up, wielding it like a lion tamer. The Doctor noticed and jumped into action, seeing her train of thought. He pulled out his screwdriver, pushing Danni back behind him. She sighed in exasperation. She was not made of glass.

"Hang on, I've got the sonic screwdriver!" He cried but Clara shrugged, not taking her eyes of the controls in front of her. He stared for a moment, seeing the echo from his wife earlier in the evening. What was it with short women and chairs?!

"Yeah? I've got a chair!" She replied, grunting as she smashed its legs into the controls. The trio ducked away as it started to spark.

"Yeah. That worked." The Doctor agreed as Danni hugged Clara, jumping up and down happily.

"Oh, you are brilliant!" She cried and Clara smiled smugly, "Clara Oswald, Impossibly Awesome!" Oh, she did like that.

"I'm afraid your rocket isn't going anywhere, Mrs G." The Doctor declared, putting his sonic away as if he'd done all of the work. Ada had calmed down slightly at the loud explosion from the controls, refusing to face her mother even though she couldn't see her to begin with.

"Please, come to me, Ada." Mrs Gillyflower called, the picture of remorse. Ada slowly walked forward, sobbing and hoping her mother really was going to have changed, "My child." She pulled her in for a hug, "You have always been so very..." She pulled away, her kind tones dropping as she pulled out her revolver, putting it against Ada's temple, "useful."

"No, Mrs Gillyflower." The Doctor begged tiredly, taking a step closer but deciding against the action, moving back.

"Please, Mama. No more. No more." Ada beseeched in tears and Danni was so glad that she couldn't see the sickly grin her mum was giving her, obviously enjoying her begging.

"And now, if you'll please forgive us, we must be going. It is long past Ada's bedtime!" She pushed Ada out of the room at gunpoint. Danni dashed forward, calling out for Ada but the door closed and locked before she could get there. She grabbed the handle, rattling the door as if she could get it to open through sheer force.

"No..." The Doctor rushed over, gently taking her hand off the handle, "If we follow straight after her, she'll shoot Ada on the spot."

"She wouldn't!" Clara gasped and the Doctor nodded.

"She would!"

"But she's her mum!" Danni exclaimed and he smiled sadly down at her, reaching out to cup her face. She looked so horrified, so hurt on Ada's behalf. He pushed her hair behind her ear, he didn't have any reassuring words for her, so he just placed a kiss on her forehead. Then he turned around and rushed over to controls, pulling out the chair that Clara had slammed into it.

"Chairs are useful!" He cried, drawing a giggle from Danni as Clara nodded in agreement. He looked like a child as he rushed to the window, chucking the chair out of the window, smashing it.

~0~0~0~

The trio chased Mrs Gillyflower up the metal stairs surrounding her rocket, watching almost helpless as she dragged Ada along with her, gun still at her temple. They came to a standstill, looking up at the mother and daughter who were on the next level.

"Just let her go, Mrs Gillyflower. Let Ada go!" The Doctor tried, hands out in front of him to show he wasn't a threat. Mrs Gillyflower rested her hand on a metal box on the wall, about to open it.

"Secondary firing mechanism, Doctor!" She cried triumphantly in reply, "Mr Sweet and I are too smart for you, after all."

"Just let your daughter go, Mrs Gillyflower." The Doctor tried again, trying to appeal to a small, decent piece of the woman.

"Monster." Ada sobbed, breaking away from her mother. Unable to see where she was going, she tumbled down the stairs, falling to the next landing and grabbing the hand rail.

"Ada!" Mrs Gillyflower shouted, cocking her gun and pointing it at the woman who turned, glaring up in the direction of her voice.

"Shoot, if you wish, Mama. It is of no matter, for you killed me a long time ago!" She shouted back. The Doctor took his chance, diving upwards to grab Ada but Mrs Gillyflower took a shot at him. He fell back, panting slightly. He hated guns. He hated guns and he hated his wife being anywhere near them. He glanced back up at Ada, then down at Danni. He couldn't leave her unprotected, and if he got hit he wouldn't regenerate. He wasn't ready to leave her yet, he had to stay by her side. He looked back at Ada. She was vulnerable, she needed his help.

"Oh, for Pete's sake!" Clara cried, pushing past him and up to Ada. Mrs Gillyflower shot at her this time and she felt the bullet fly across her arm, scraping the skin through her sleeve as she went. She grabbed Ada, though, as Mrs Gillyflower starting singing one of her favourite hymns, opening the metal box on the wall.

"Clara!" Danni admonished when she rejoined them, "She could have... Oh, she hit you!" Clara looked down at her arm, seeing blood already starting to turn the dark fabric almost black. It did start to hurt, but it didn't feel too sore. They'd just have to make it up to her.

The ground suddenly started rumbling and Danni found herself being pressed against the metal railings by her husband, who covered her with his body, ducking his head and a bright white light filled the entire chimney. Next to her Clara was doing the same for Ada, shielding her away from the blast as the rocket flew into the sky ready to complete Mrs Gillyflower's plans.

Or so she thought. She was laughing in her victory, watching the rocket fly into the sky, "Now, Mr Sweet, now the whole world will taste your lethal kiss!" She called, stroking the repulsive leech that sat on her chest.

"Ha!" Danni barked, "You wish, you old bag!" The old woman looked down at them in confusion, the Doctor with his arms around the defective woman with the eyeglasses on. He clicked his fingers, pointing upwards and she followed it to see two of her pilgrims. They lifted their veils to reveal a woman and a lizard, who were carrying the venom between them. All her hard work, all her preparations, for nothing!

"Very well, then. If I can't take the world with me, you will have to do." She snarled, aiming her gun up and Jenny and Vastra, who did not seem too concerned, much to her anguish, "Die, you freaks! Die! Die!"

"Put down your weapon, human female!" A male voice shouted from up above. They all looked up to see Strax at the opening of the chimney, pointing a rather large gun at the old woman.

"Oh, well done Strax!" Danni cried, always happy to see the Sontaran. Clara frowned, leaning in closer to Danni.

"Who's that then?" She asked, nodding at what appeared - even from the distance they were at - to be a potato in a spacesuit.

"Oh, he's a Sontaran." Danni replied, "He makes exceptional Christmas Pudding." Clara shrugged, nodding in agreement. She did like a good Christmas Pudding. Not as much as soufflés, but she was rather partial to a small portion with cream.

Strax shot down at Mrs Gillyflower, causing her to lose her balance and fall over the edge. She landed with a crunch they all winced at.

"Ouch!" The Doctor whispered and Danni nodded. She then turned back to Clara.

"Is your arm okay, sweetie?" She asked with a smile.

~0~0~0~

Clara's arm had only been grazed by the bullet, so they'd bandaged it up and sent her on the way with the promise of the next Wednesday. Of course, that was her next Wednesday, Danni knew that the Doctor would want some quality time with just the two of them for a while. Not that she was complaining, of course. Who wouldn't want to spend quality time with him?

She'd gotten changed into something much more comfortable after dropping of her latest batch of Christmas Pudding into the TARDIS fridge. Strax had made her quite the supply, so she'd be stocked up until the next time they decided to drop into Paternoster Row. She hoped it was soon, she always had such a lovely time there.

The Doctor was tinkering away with the TARDIS, as he always did, when she finally found him. There was probably nothing wrong with her, Danni was sure he broke her occasionally just to have something to fix. He was always lost if there wasn't something for him to do to keep his hands busy, and as much as he'd like to, they couldn't stay in the bedroom all day.

"What's the plan, Spaceman?" She asked, hopping to his side. He shot her that smile of his, that one that made her hearts flutter just at the sight of. The one reserved just for her, that told her he loved her more than anything in the universe.

"Well, I was thinking the future." He replied, "Well, compared to Victorian England, at any rate. In Space." She nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck, smirking as his eyes widened slightly.

"Space and the future? You know how to show a girl a good time, don't you?" He nodded, brushing his lips against hers.

"I like to think so." He agreed before doing it again. He liked to think himself so clever, he probably already had something magical in mind to show her. Well, he wasn't the only one who could surprise.

She pressed up onto her tiptoes, her breath ghosting across his ear as she pressed herself against his chest. She leant as close as she could, then whispered something into his ear that made his breath catch and him to almost dart backwards from her in surprise.

She'd butchered it slightly, but he knew exactly what she'd been trying to say. Those three words that they'd only been able to share in her language. She was flushed slightly in nervous pride.

"Now where did you learn that?" He whispered and she shrugged.

"Books." She replied simply, "Got to do something when you're busy breaking the TARDIS."

"I do not break the TARDIS." He protested as he pulled her closer, "Say it again." She did, letting it roll off her tongue and he groaned slightly, kissing her deeply, his arms unable to find a position when she was being pressed against him close enough. He leant his forehead on hers, whispering it back as it should be said.

"Right, Danni-Girl." He started before he became too distracted, "The future is right outside those doors." He spun her away, leaving her to giggle as he bounded towards the door. She watched him open the door, looking outside, probably making sure that they were in the right place. He looked back over to her, "History in the making, that's what this is. Take a running jump." He moved out of the way and she beamed, taking off in an actual run out of the doors. She skidded to a halt just down from the TARDIS, her smile dropping as she took in the stone walls with barred doors lining one side.

"Hang on, this is Stormcage." She breathed, her hearts picking up in speed for a completely different reason, "Doctor, why..." She turned to see him slam the door shut, the TARDIS starting to dematerialise and she ran forward, banging on the wood, "Theta! Theta, let me in!" She screamed, "Theta, please! Don't leave me! Please!" Her hand went through the door, the TARDIS gone and she began to panic in a way she hadn't in a long time. She spun around on the spot, trying to find a way out, a way home. Anything to not be here.

"Danni?" She froze on the spot as out of one cell door appeared River, looking at her in concern, "What's wrong, sweetie?"
