A powerful wave of red light erupted from within him, wrapping around his body and beginning to condense.

Suddenly, a majestic cry echoed through the air.
A crimson figure a hundred meters wide took shape—a mighty presence descended from the sky like a sacred beast.
The Vermilion Bird had arrived.
"Vermilion Bird Heaven-Burning Art—Vermilion Descends!"
The massive bird soared above Lin Fan, its wings outstretched. The sky turned blood-red in an instant, blindingly radiant.
"Go!"
With a soft shout from Lin Fan, the Vermilion Bird seemed to come alive. It beat its wings, distorting the air around it.

Its commanding cry shook the heavens, stunning Cao Yu and the others for a brief moment.
And in that instant, the Vermilion Bird appeared before Cao Yu, slashing its talons down and tearing apart his protective ring!
Cao Yu snapped back to reality, pupils shrinking in horror. His fingers moved rapidly to form seals.
"Heaven-Sealing Array—Sky-Locking Rune!"
With a low shout, a tremendous surge of power erupted from within him.
Immediately, space itself began to twist. Cracks spread like spiderwebs, and massive black chains shot out from the void.
Clang clang clang!
The black chains crisscrossed the sky, weaving together in an instant to form a rune of sealing light that descended toward the Vermilion Bird.
A terrifying pressure radiated outward.
Cry!
The Vermilion Bird let out another cry, bursting into roaring flames!
Boom boom boom!
Its flames raged so fiercely that the entire sky turned crimson.
The chains surrounding it were quickly stained red.
The chains tightened, trying to bind the Vermilion Bird.
But its blazing flames continued to burn the chains in return—creating a temporary stalemate.
