Chapter 409: Blood Python City's Retaliation!
"Young Lord…"
The Blood Python City men around Lei Zhen looked on with grim faces as Lin Fan and his group of five walked away with utter composure.
Although Lin Fan's strength was impressive, Lei Zhen still felt that if they all attacked together, it wasn't impossible to win.
"He's stronger than me. What makes you think you could win?" Cao Mang cast a cold glance at Lei Zhen, his voice icy. "Even if we attacked together, we likely wouldn't be able to stop them."
"He… he's really that strong?" Lei Zhen gritted his teeth in disbelief.
Cao Mang was a Major Completion Death Profound Realm expert—second only to the city lord of Blood Python City. How could he possibly be weaker than that Lin Fan?
"You doubt my judgment?" Cao Mang looked at him coldly.
Lei Zhen quickly shook his head. "I wouldn't dare."
Cao Mang's gaze followed the direction Lin Fan had disappeared in. A cold, twisted smile formed at the corner of his lips.
"Fine, let him walk away for now. But Blood Python City doesn't let people off so easily. He'll regret this soon enough."
…
Far from Little Wild City, in the forest, a small campfire crackled. Lin Fan and Lin Dong sat in calm meditation, while the three girls huddled together nearby, whispering softly to one another.
"Brother Lin Fan, earlier you made a point of revealing your name and acting high-profile. Is there some deeper reason behind it?" Lin Dong asked in a low voice after a slight hesitation.
Lin Fan smiled. "Simple—making a name for myself."
"Making a name?" Lin Dong blinked, thoughtful.
"That's right," Lin Fan nodded. "We're outsiders in the Demon Domain, unfamiliar with everything. Trying to find Xiao Diao and Xiao Yan in a place like this isn't going to be easy."
"So, you're using this as a way to spread our names—once word gets out, they might come looking for us!" Lin Dong's eyes lit up as he caught on.
"Exactly," Lin Fan confirmed with a smile.
While they talked, the two exhausted Nine-Tails girls finally fell asleep, leaning on each other for comfort.
Xinqing, after tucking them in with a soft blanket, came quietly over to Lin Fan's side. She knelt beside him, cheeks slightly flushed, her eyes filled with gratitude.
"Thank you, Lord Lin Fan."
From her eyes, Lin Fan could see the genuine, heartfelt thanks. Whereas before her attitude was a mix of fear and respect, now it had transformed into pure admiration.
"It was nothing. You don't need to thank me," Lin Fan said gently. "Get some rest—we've got more travel ahead tomorrow."
…
The night passed quickly.
The next day, Lin Fan and Lin Dong set off again under Xinqing's lead, continuing their journey toward the Nine-Tails Clan.
But under Lin Fan's instruction, they deliberately slowed their pace.
Xinqing was a bit confused by this but didn't question it, simply doing as she was told.
At the same time, news of what had happened began to spread across the region.
In a place as chaotic as the Beast Battle Region, a human daring to provoke a beast faction was nearly unheard of.
When word spread of what had happened with Blood Python City, curiosity surged.
Some thrill-seekers and spies began following behind Blood Python City's men, all heading toward Lin Fan and his group.
Blood Python City didn't stop them. In fact, they welcomed it. They wanted to use this opportunity to send a message—those who crossed Blood Python City would pay dearly.
…
"Hehe!"
The cheerful voice of a young girl added some liveliness to the otherwise monotonous journey.
Xinqing had jogged ahead up a small hill, waving excitedly to the group below. But just as she was about to call out, her expression froze.
She looked up—and her face instantly went pale.
On the plains beyond the hill stood a vast army, densely packed. Blood Python banners fluttered in the wind, and murderous intent surged like a storm.
At the center of the formation sat a massive throne adorned with a blood python insignia. On it lounged a man in crimson robes, expressionless as he stared toward the hilltop. A cruel smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
The black tide of soldiers stretched across the plains. The swaying banners carried a vicious, devouring aura.
It was as if even the skies responded—thick, oppressive clouds gathered overhead. A storm was coming.
Xinqing and the other two girls' faces turned ashen. The joy that had just filled them vanished, replaced by horror.
They recognized those flags. Blood Python City had come in full force.
And their target… was them.
Lin Fan calmly walked to the hilltop, looking down at the army below with a serene face. Despite the overwhelming numbers, he showed no fear at all.
"Lord Lin Fan… I'm sorry…"
Xinqing bit her lip, tears brimming in her large eyes. She knew all of this had happened because Lin Fan had saved her fellow clanswomen.
The two Nine-Tails girls turned pale and dropped to their knees in guilt, but Lin Fan waved his hand, gently lifting them up with a surge of energy.
"I lured them here on purpose. You three were just the bait. So there's no need to feel guilty," Lin Fan said with a smile.
The girls stared at him in confusion, not understanding what he meant.
"That's the human who challenged Blood Python City? Looks young…"
"I heard he's really strong—even Young Lord Cao Mang admitted he wasn't a match."
"But this time, even Cao Ying showed up! He's half a step into Full Completion of the Death Profound Realm. That kid's done for."
Whispers rippled through the army. All eyes turned toward the figure standing tall on the hill.
Stories of Lin Fan had already begun circulating wildly. It had been a long time since a human had stirred such trouble in the Beast Battle Region.
"So, you're the one who snatched people from my Blood Python City? Lin Fan, was it?"
From the front lines, the man on the blood python throne slowly raised his head. His snake-like triangular pupils locked onto Lin Fan, his tone cold.
"You're the city lord of Blood Python City, I take it? Heh, not too slow," Lin Fan smiled in reply.
"Oh?" The crimson-robed man's eyes narrowed, then his lips curled into a mocking grin. "You knew we'd come?"
Lin Fan smiled calmly and reached out toward the two Nine-Tails girls. A suction force pulled at them, and they trembled as two streams of blood-red light surged out from their bodies.
They condensed in midair into two tiny, fingertip-sized blood serpents.
"You implanted these in them, didn't you? And you thought I wouldn't notice such a cheap trick?" Lin Fan said as he toyed with the snakes.
Then—crackle!—arcs of lightning sparked in his palm.
Crack!
The two blood serpents were instantly obliterated by the thunderbolts.
The two Nine-Tails girls turned even paler, horrified by what had just been extracted from within them.
The city lord's smile faded. He leaned forward, his snake-like eyes now gleaming with venomous rage.
"You're saying… you lured me here on purpose?"
"You're not as dumb as you look," Lin Fan smiled.
"Then die!"
The crimson-robed man's eyes turned savage. With a cold shout, a massive surge of yuan power erupted from his body like a raging flood.
