Thea received Bellwether's harassment notice before she received any institutional request to respond. The practical protection allowed her next decision to concern authorship instead of proving she felt unafraid.
The residence communications office proposed one sentence saying Bellwether supported artists' lawful private lives. Thea accepted the protection but declined allowing an institution to become the first voice attached toward her work.
