Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: A Double Blessing Once Again

Chapter 362: A Double Blessing Once Again

In the afternoon, Yang Wendong took Su Yiyi to a coastal bay in the Causeway Bay area, where a 25-meter yacht was moored. Naturally, this was Yang Wendong's own boat.

"Come on up." After boarding, Yang Wendong reached back and helped Su Yiyi onto the yacht as well.

There were small waves today, and the boat rocked slightly. As soon as Su Yiyi stepped aboard, she struggled to steady herself and soon found a couch near the edge of the deck to sit down.

Yang Wendong sat beside her and said, "This boat feels a bit small. When we get the chance, let's go to Europe and order a bigger one."

"This boat is small?" Su Yiyi asked in surprise. "I thought this was considered large for a private yacht in Hong Kong."

Yang Wendong shook his head and said, "It is by Hong Kong standards, but not in the West. In Europe or the US, this wouldn't even get noticed. Actually, as long as you're willing to spend the money, you can custom-build one as big as you want."

In this era, most private yachts were still relatively small. Typically, they were just used for a bit of leisure around the harbor. A 20-meter yacht was already quite decent. It wasn't like in Yang Wendong's previous life during the internet boom, when tycoons were all buying yachts over 100 meters.

Of course, there might be some technical limitations too. Yang Wendong wasn't entirely clear on the specifics, but in general, superyachts weren't yet a thing.

Su Yiyi chuckled and asked, "So how big are you thinking?"

"Something around 100 feet or so," Yang Wendong mused. "As long as it can sail safely near the coast, that's big enough—and luxurious enough, too."

In an age where satellite communication hadn't fully matured, taking a private yacht out into deep sea was risky.

In his past life, modern yachts could travel the world because of advanced communication systems and weather satellites that made it easy to avoid dangerous situations. That wasn't the case in this era—if you sailed blindly into a typhoon, it could be fatal.

So a medium-sized yacht for near-coastal use would be just fine. Even a 40 to 50-meter yacht could offer plenty of luxury.

"Hmm, not bad," Su Yiyi nodded.

Suddenly, a strong wave hit the hull, rocking the boat even harder. Su Yiyi immediately frowned, looking increasingly uncomfortable.

Yang Wendong quickly asked, "Are you alright?"

"I'm okay," Su Yiyi responded after a moment, trying to regain her composure.

Yang Wendong looked at her and asked, "You didn't used to get like this. Are you feeling unwell, or… is there a chance you might be pregnant again?"

The Yang family had indeed been "working hard" on making a baby recently. With his businesses thriving across so many industries, Yang Wendong felt it was time to focus on legacy—he needed heirs to pass things down to.

While having too many children could lead to family conflict in the future, that was more about poor planning from the older generation. And honestly, even with family legacy in mind, thinking two or three generations ahead was more than enough. Anything beyond that was overthinking. Even Zhu Yuanzhang couldn't manage the descendants of the Ming Dynasty's military gods—and it wasn't his responsibility to do so.

"There's a good chance," Su Yiyi nodded. "Lately I've noticed my appetite has changed. I get nauseous at greasy smells, I feel sleepy all the time, and I've got no energy."

"Then let's go to the hospital and get you checked out," Yang Wendong said. "If you're pregnant, that's great. If not, then at least a full-body check-up will give us peace of mind."

"Okay," Su Yiyi agreed.

Naturally, the yacht outing was canceled. They got back in the convoy and soon arrived at Canwell Hospital, a private hospital in Admiralty.

This hospital had been built with investment from Yang Wendong himself. It specialized in medical check-ups and obstetrics, equipped with the most advanced medical equipment available globally. Many of the doctors here had been recruited from Hong Kong and overseas—mainly Chinese doctors from abroad.

At present, the hospital only offered premium services for Hong Kong's wealthy and upper-middle class.

Inside, it also housed the first B-ultrasound machine in Hong Kong, which Yang Wendong had personally insisted on importing.

Su Yiyi quickly went in for the check-up, while Yang Wendong waited outside. After a short while, a Western doctor emerged with a smile and said in English, "Mr. Yang, congratulations! Your wife is about one month pregnant."

"Really?" Yang Wendong was overjoyed. He genuinely loved babies. He then asked, "Can the ultrasound tell if it's a boy or a girl?"

He wasn't biased—son or daughter, he would love them equally. But if he could know in advance, he could prepare accordingly, with clothes, toys, and such.

The doctor replied, "Sorry, Mr. Yang. The baby is still too small. The ultrasound can't show that yet. You'll probably have to wait until the third or fourth month."

"Three to four months? Alright, thank you, doctor," Yang Wendong replied politely.

In his past life, equipment could reveal gender quite early. But in this era, even with the ultrasound machine, the resolution likely wasn't advanced enough yet.

Afterward, Yang Wendong brought Su Yiyi home and shared the news with the family.

Aunt Guo was thrilled. She laughed and said, "This time, you must have a girl! I've always wanted a granddaughter."

"Me too," Su Yiyi said with a smile.

"I'd love to have a daughter as well," Yang Wendong chimed in. "But I'm fine with a son, too."

Maybe it's human nature to want what you don't have—if you have a son, you hope for a daughter next, and vice versa.

In his past life, one of Yang Wendong's friends had a son first, then hoped for a daughter for the second. But he ended up with twin sons instead—tragic and hilarious at the same time.

"I'll go make something nice to eat so we can celebrate tonight," Aunt Guo said happily.

"Great." Yang Wendong nodded. "I'll go arrange to upgrade all the medical care and safety measures."

When Su Yiyi and Bai Yushan had been pregnant previously, they each had teams of caregivers. Even a dedicated gynecologist was assigned, and they had a simplified emergency vehicle ready for outings.

After the children were born, enhanced care continued, but care for pregnant women and newborns wasn't exactly the same. So they needed to make new preparations.

"Alright." Su Yiyi naturally had no objections. While rubbing her son Yang Zhiwen's head, she began explaining gently.

Little Yang Zhiwen was very curious. He kept staring at his mother's belly and asked innocently, "Is there really a baby inside? But babies are so big! How can they be in there?"

"Hahahaha!" Everyone burst out laughing. Su Yiyi patiently explained that the baby was still very, very tiny.

Just as Yang Wendong was about to head upstairs, Bai Yushan stopped him.

"What's up?" Yang Wendong asked.

"There's something I need to tell you too," Bai Yushan said. "I'm three days late."

"You too…" Yang Wendong was shocked. Sure, he had wanted more children—but both of them at once? Really?

Bai Yushan added, "It's only been three days, so I'm not sure yet. I was going to wait a bit longer before saying anything. But since Yiyi is pregnant, I figured I should let you know early."

"Fair enough. Whether you are or not, we should go to the hospital and get you checked as well," Yang Wendong said, nodding. He decided to hold off on assigning the new medical team until they confirmed everything—if both were pregnant, then the comprehensive plan could kick in.

After explaining the situation to the rest of the household, another round of lively celebration followed. Then, apart from Su Yiyi and the people looking after her and the child, the rest of the group headed back to the hospital.

So, once again, the Western doctor who had seen Yang Wendong earlier that morning saw him return—with another woman this time—and was so shocked that his glasses nearly fell off.

Yang Wendong smiled and said in English, "Doctor, could you please help check whether my wife here is also pregnant?"

This Western doctor had been recruited when Yang Wendong bought the ultrasound equipment from the US. At the time, most Hong Kong doctors were unfamiliar with electronic medical devices, especially expensive ones like ultrasound machines. Hiring a Western doctor to operate it had been cost-effective compared to the device itself.

Plus, the patients using this level of equipment were all wealthy or upper-class—just like Yang Wendong. For them, safety and health came first, and they were willing to pay extra for it. After all, this was the only place in Hong Kong offering such a service.

"Alright," the Western doctor nodded. Then, lowering his voice, he asked, "So the woman from this morning…?"

"She's also my wife," Yang Wendong smiled. "In Hong Kong, men can legally have multiple wives. You've been here over a month now, right? Didn't you know?"

"Oh my God," the doctor exclaimed, shaking his head. "I had no idea! No one told me. My translator is a woman—maybe she deliberately avoided that topic."

"Oh? Well, you should look into it," Yang Wendong chuckled.

The doctor nodded. "This is amazing. A modern life, but with laws like this?"

"Haha, indeed," Yang Wendong said. "Life in Hong Kong isn't worse than in your average American city."

"Yes, just fewer cars," the doctor replied, then added with a sigh, "What a shame. If I'd come to Hong Kong ten years earlier, maybe I could've ended up like you. But now I'm too old. Ah well…"

"Mhm, we've just got to enjoy life while we can," Yang Wendong nodded.

Time was humanity's eternal enemy. Without immortality, not even a U.S. President could resist aging.

Soon, the ultrasound machine was ready, and the doctor went in to do the scan.

Just then, word reached the Bai family, and they hurried over. Meanwhile, Yang Wendong had someone buy a few bottles of soda to celebrate.

After a while, the doctor came back out. Before he even saw Yang Wendong, he spotted Bai Yujie and froze. "Huh?"

Yang Wendong walked over and said, "They're twins. Doctor, how's the result?"

"Oh, twins? They really do look alike." The doctor turned to Yang Wendong and said, "Mr. Yang, your wife inside is also pregnant. About a month along as well. Still too early to determine the gender."

"Is it a single or multiple pregnancy?" Yang Wendong asked.

"Just one. Why, were you expecting twins again?"

"No, just asking," Yang Wendong said with a smile.

If they ended up with another set of twins, things at home would get even livelier.

Still, with both of them pregnant at the same time—this was definitely a double blessing, but it also meant a lot more work for him.
