Her new friends are independent contractors who handed in their resignation letters. They said that they were not drawn to Callisto for a job. Now that their purpose had been fulfilled, they were leaving again.
Everyone had a hand in her escape even her friends mates, which is surprising but she accepted everything that frees her. Her escape was so clean you would doubt she ever existed. She remembers the look on her mothers face, so has no doubt her mother loves her in her own way. But her love also had neglect and negligence, this time it's her turn to just disappear. She remembers the embrace, emotions and the letter she left on the island before she turned to go to 'school'.
Mom,
This was surprisingly the hardest decision I had to make. No amount of space I have in my heart will ever be worth the suffering I endured in your care and that Godforsaken pack. I will be seventeen soon, there will be no made-up law that will force me set foot back here. So, I beg you… don't look for me.
If you ever cared about my health and safety, you would understand why I have to leave and why I don't want to be found. I love you but I have to choose myself, I deserve better. I will try to not let my past effect my future and what it has to offer. Take care.
Regardless of her mother's many faults and questionable parenting, her father did traumatise her. She barely knows the story, and she does not care to know, nothing can excuse him abandoning their family. Once upon a time, they were happy... She did not have to worry about the packs finances which were not good. With her basic knowledge in business, she helped her mother as much as she can. Juggling school and the survival of the pack was challenging but she and her mother did it, they worked. Her age was a hinderance that's why her mother was the face, and she worked behind the scenes helping where she can. They did not have money and the little they made was being invested back into the pack and their trading business. Her father was not there he just picked up and left, and her mother was emotionally unstable after that. The pressure got to her mother, and she began slowly distancing herself away from the business, the pack and her parental responsibilities. Her parents suck.
Now that she actually thinking about it there is not redemption in their actions, one is still gone and the other planned on marrying her off to the man that abused her. Wow, her family suck... how is she still level-headed? She's level-headed enough to survive, come to terms with her situation and make a decision that will benefit her. This might be the only chance she has to escape; she can't afford to hesitate. She rebooted her phone after logging off of everything which is easy since she makes use of an android. She left her mother the phone she bought her, she changed her name, she has her first card and she's finally going to be at the age where authority has to go through her first. She almost has everything figured out.
.
"Thank you all for the help."
Her gratitude was genuine, heavy with the knowledge that without them, she would still be trapped in the fire. These people, these beings had saved her life.
"You can stay with us in the fae realm until school starts. I swear, you'll love it." -Nay
She nods smiling, she did not think that far. Her birthday will pass before the new year's in about two months after school starts but she will be in Moon so she will be safe there. She will be safe in the fae realm since it is not connected to a physical world which is odd in a good way.
"Alex, you're one of us a healer. We want to show you what you can do. This gift, it's powerful. Especially in medicine." -Mitch
They keep pushing this 'healer' thing that she cannot keep her mind off the insanity of it all. She has abilities she cannot explain so learning the extent of her abilities will help her. Since he has only healed herself, the doctors want to show her more, she just does not truly understand their motives. Why are they going out of their way to help her? Mitch gently guided her toward the shimmering portal.
This will be the first time she has ever walked through a portal, she's excited and nervous at the same time. She stepped through it and her breath caught in her throat. At first, there's a sensation of weightlessness as if the world you've known is falling away behind you. In simple terms it felt like she is in an elevator that is going down, she's weightless but her feet are touching the ground. Then the is a weird light and nothingness it's light she is splashes with water, but she'd dry, the portal looks like water. The entire experience is odd as the portals space tightens wrapping around her. Thank God she's not claustrophobic or else this would be absolute hell.
The next thing she knows is that she is trust into a world with clean air, the air is cool but not cold. The only way she can describe the scent is that it's the lovely bridge between the anticipation of rain and sweet like strawberries or roses. She smiles at the relaxing scent of fresh, earthy paradise the sisters welcomed her into. The skies shimmer with shifting hues, painted in endless twilight. Forests glow with bioluminescent flora, trees whisper, and rivers hum lullabies as they wind through emerald valleys. Homes carved into cliffs or hidden beneath mossy hills, simple cabin houses that are really nothing to write home about. She's still amazed but this is the fae realm, she just expected to see more magic.
