Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The narrator recounted, "That night, Joseph began transforming into a werewolf, and Megan heard eerie howling coming from his room. She gently opened the door, stunned by the sight of a werewolf inside." Megan called out, "Joseph?" Upon seeing her at the doorway, Joseph, still furious over Megan ruining his date with Angelica, suddenly pursued Megan as she ran away, screaming down the stairs. When Megan tried to escape through the front door, Joseph blocked her path, causing her to fall. He approached, snarling menacingly. Trembling, Megan pleaded, "Please, no." Joseph grabbed her with his mouth and lifted her, but when their eyes met, he hesitated. After a brief internal struggle, Joseph released Megan, then leapt through the window, shattering the glass. The narrator continued, "Megan was baffled as to why the werewolf spared her. Looking outside, she saw it sprinting away through the rain. At dawn, Megan found herself lying on the living room floor, while Joseph awoke outdoors, his clothes ripped." Rubbing his eyes, Joseph muttered, "That was the strangest dream," then glanced around and added, "How did I end up outside? Oh well."

The narrator recounted, "Joseph entered the house, noticed Megan waking up, and helped her off the floor. They sat down together to have breakfast. Midway through their meal, someone knocked on the door. Joseph answered it and found Angelica outside."

Angelica greeted him, "Hi, Joseph."

He replied, "Hi, Angelica. Would you like to come in?"

"I'd love to," Angelica responded, stepping inside and taking a seat on the sofa next to Joseph.

With a hint of regret, Angelica said, "Listen, I'm sorry about how things went last night. I actually came over to ask you something."

Joseph answered, "I have a question too. Would you like to go out with me tonight? Maybe we can give last night another shot. Also, there's something important I want to tell you."

"Oh, sure," Angelica agreed enthusiastically. "And I know exactly where we should meet. Let's get together at the town square at 7:00. I have something I want to share as well."

After that, Angelica departed, and Joseph's necklace began to glow pink. Suddenly, he heard a swishing sound coming from the sofa—looking back, he saw his tail was wagging again. Focusing intently, Joseph caused his crystal to shine purple, making his tail disappear once more.

The narrator concluded, "Noticing Joseph invite Angelica out, Megan began to feel suspicious of them, which led her to decide to spy on their date."

The narrator explained, "Joseph and Angelica went out on their date that evening while Megan secretly watched them." Megan trailed behind as they walked to the park, where they noticed several dogs. At one point, Joseph took Angelica's hands and revealed, "I have something to tell you—I'm a werewolf, watch." Dropping onto all fours, he ran off to join the pack of dogs. The narrator added, "Angelica appreciated Joseph's honesty but felt uncertain about his being a werewolf due to her own hidden secret. Observing Joseph with the dogs, Megan grew increasingly curious about his behavior." Soon after, Angelica whistled to call Joseph back, and when she said, "Two legs, please," he stood up. His crystal glowed pink, causing his tail to wag, as he hoped Angelica was fond of him.

The narrator continued, "Megan found both of them suspicious." She kept following and saw Angelica lead Joseph into a vampire-themed restaurant called 'The Blood Bank.' Peering through the window, Megan spotted them at their table, where Joseph sniffed around enthusiastically. When placing their orders, Joseph chose a hamburger and root beer, while Angelica decided on fish and, after winking at the waiter, requested, "Punch."

After their waiter delivered the food, Joseph couldn't help but drool as he devoured his burger without using his hands and sipped his root beer with his tongue. He noticed Angelica was in quite a state. Taking a napkin between his teeth, Joseph handed it to her and asked, "Napkin?" "Thanks," Angelica replied, cleaning herself with the napkin he'd given her. Then she said, "Joseph, I have something to tell you." "What?" Joseph responded. As Angelica drank her punch, her skin smoothed out, and her hair grew longer. "I'm a vampire," she revealed. The narrator described how Megan witnessed everything, heard Angelica's confession, gasped dramatically, and ducked below the window. Angelica glanced outside but didn't spot anyone there.

The narrator said, "Believing no one was watching, Angelica held Joseph's hand and continued their date. Joseph didn't mind that Angelica was a vampire, nor did she care that he was a werewolf." Megan whispered, "Kayla and Kendal were right; they're both monsters. What should I do? I can't go to the police—they'd destroy them. But I can't let them know I found out; they might kill me." At that moment, a vampire said, "Oh, you won't have to worry." Megan spun around to see five vampires behind her. Startled, Megan screamed, catching Joseph's attention. He glanced out the window and spotted Megan yelling at the figures pursuing her. Fleeing for her life, Megan took off as the vampires morphed into bats and gave chase. Quickly thinking, Megan dashed past the police station. The narrator continued, "When Chief Jade and her team saw vampire bats chasing Megan, they realized what was happening. The officers jumped into their vehicles and sped after the vampires. Megan ran into a garlic shop, and seeing the garlic displayed in the window, the vampires panicked and flew away."

The narrator explained, "Megan escaped from the vampires, left the garlic shop, and Angelica and Joseph quickly joined her. Noticing Joseph's ears suddenly pointing, Angelica quickly pulled up his hood to conceal the change from his sister." She quietly warned, "Joseph, your ears." Observing further, Angelica remarked, "Now your eyes are turning blue, and you're getting fangs." In distress, Joseph pleaded, "No, not now. Please, not now."

As the clock tower chimed at midnight, Joseph dropped to all fours, clothes ripping as he transformed into a werewolf with a resounding howl. The narrator continued, "The moment the vampires heard Joseph's howl, they rushed back in search of him." Angelica urged, "Leash him. We need to get out of here." But Megan countered, "I've got a better idea."

Megan picked up a stick and called out, "Hey, Joseph." She threw it toward their house and said, "Fetch." Joseph chased after it. When the police arrived, Megan and Angelica acted as if nothing unusual was happening. Chief Jade asked, "OK, we saw you running from vampires. Where are they?" Megan replied, "I scared them off with the garlic store behind us." The smell of garlic overwhelmed Angelica, and she dropped to her knees. Alexis noticed and asked, "What's wrong with her?" Angelica explained, "Oh. I can't leave while you're here, but I'm allergic to garlic." Megan whispered, "I know what you are." Karly responded, "OK, you can go." Shontae pointed to Megan and added, "But she has to stay." Angelica then quickly left to get away from the garlic and ran after Joseph.

The narrator stated, "After Angelica traveled a sufficient distance, she transformed into a bat and surveyed the town in search of Joseph. Upon locating him, she observed Joseph entering his house through a window. Angelica attempted to follow but was unable to access the premises. Despite her ability to speak in any animal form, including as a bat, Joseph, while in his werewolf state, was incapable of speech." Angelica remarked, "I neglected to consider that vampires require an invitation to enter private residences.

Additionally, given Joseph's condition as a werewolf, he is unable to invite me inside." Consequently, Angelica knocked on the window to attract Joseph's attention. When Joseph noticed, he saw Angelica hovering nearby. She urged, "Joseph, you need to leave." In response, Joseph broke through the glass door and joined Angelica outside. Angelica reverted to her human form and tried to calm Joseph. The narrator continued, "Noticing her vampire acquaintances approaching in bat form, Angelica discreetly got Joseph back in his house without entering herself, repaired the damaged door using her abilities, and ensured the curtains were closed for privacy." Angelica concluded, "Apologies, I will speak with you later."

The narrator explained, "When Angelica's vampire friends arrived, they shifted back into human form and started asking her questions." Matthew asked, "OK, where is he?" Angelica responded, "Who do you mean? Everyone's here." Megan, who had just come home, overheard their conversation. Carolyn said, "You know—the werewolf. We're dying to take him out." The narrator continued, "Megan was shocked by what she heard, and as the sun began to rise, she expected the vampires to leave and Joseph to revert forms." Maddy remarked, "The sun's up. Let's go—we'll talk about the werewolf later." As Angelica stayed in the shade, Matthew transformed into a wolf and dashed away; Carolyn turned into an owl and flew off; Maddy became a bat and fluttered away; Raven changed into a moth and took flight; and Chris morphed into a fox and ran off.

The narrator added, "With her friends gone, Angelica applied sunblock so the sunlight wouldn't harm her. She then stepped into the sun, leaving Megan puzzled." Megan approached Angelica and said, "Wait—I thought vampires couldn't be out in the sun." Angelica replied, "That's true, but now I use sunblock." When Angelica showed Megan her SPF 50,000 sunscreen, she said, "This stuff makes me glitter in the sunlight." Angelica sparkled, and Megan noticed her shimmering appearance. Angelica concluded, "Now that we've sorted out the vampire thing, let's go check on our werewolf."
