In the capital, at a cheap inn,
Yu Xiaogang collapsed onto the floor, staring at the ceiling in despair.
After being disowned by his father, Yu Yuanzhen, the furious clan members still refrained from beating him directly out of respect for the Clan Leader's face. However, they threw shoes, eggs, trash, and whatever else they could find at him while cursing him relentlessly.
With Flender's help, he managed to escape from the clan and return to Lanba Academy.
However, before they could enter the academy, the guards stopped them.
"Stop. You are not allowed to enter."
Both Flender and Yu Xiaogang were stunned upon hearing this. Then they realized that they were covered in trash thrown by the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan members and looked no different from beggars.
Thinking of this, Flender quickly took out some water, washed his face, and said,
"Now can we enter?"
"Senior, you may go inside. Sorry, we did not recognize you earlier and offended you," the two guards apologized hurriedly.
"No worries. You were just doing your job," Flender replied calmly, not getting angry at all.
"Thank you, Senior."
After speaking, the guards looked toward Yu Xiaogang, who looked even worse than a beggar and smelled worse than a trash can.
Even the guards struggled hard to suppress their urge to vomit and instinctively took a step back in disgust.
Yu Xiaogang noticed their reactions, and his face darkened immediately.
Seeing this, Flender spoke up.
"This is Master. You should know him."
"So he is Master." The guards looked at Yu Xiaogang with surprised expressions.
Even though Yu Xiaogang was covered in trash, he still tried to clasp his hands behind his back, lift his chin proudly, and put on a profound expression. However, just as he was about to complete the act, a piece of rotten eggshell slid down his nose, making him look extremely ridiculous.
Yu Xiaogang's face instantly turned red with embarrassment.
"Get lost," the guards said coldly as they looked at the clown before them.
Yu Xiaogang's body trembled with anger.
"How dare lowly guards like you speak to me like that!" Yu Xiaogang roared furiously.
For the past few days, everyone had been insulting him, yet he had no way to retaliate, causing endless frustration to build inside him. Now that someone had insulted him and he finally had someone he could scold back, Yu Xiaogang immediately began venting all his accumulated anger on the guards.
However, before he could continue,
"We may only be guards, but who are you to question us?" one guard retorted coldly.
"Brother, how can you speak to him like that? He is a great teacher with over thirty years of experience in donkey riding. He is also the famous teacher of the great Donkey Rider. Don't you recognize him?" the other guard lightly scolded his companion while speaking with a playful smile.
"What? Thirty years? Donkey riding? What are you talking about?" Yu Xiaogang was initially pleased upon hearing the praise, but the moment he heard the words 'donkey riding,' his face turned pale instantly. Forgetting everything else, he anxiously questioned them.
"Oh, this matter was posted by you. How could anyone in the capital not know about it after seeing this?" The guards looked puzzled as to why Yu Xiaogang was asking such a question, but they did not care much and simply handed him a poster.
Yu Xiaogang took the poster and looked at it.
The next second, he spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Xiaogang! What happened?" Seeing Yu Xiaogang's condition, Flender hurriedly rushed to support him.
After helping him up, Flender looked at the poster as well. His eyes widened instantly.
"Donkey Riding Course available by Yu Xiaogang, the teacher of Donkey Rider.
Want to ride donkeys but don't know how? Don't fear, because I am here. I have over thirty years of donkey riding experience. I will make you feel like you're flying while riding donkeys."
There was even a painting on the poster showing Yu Xiaogang's face beside a donkey's face. Both were laughing like brothers and almost looked alike.
What made it even worse was that the registration location listed on the poster was the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.
Flender knew Yu Xiaogang was knowledgeable, but even he had not expected him to "understand" this subject as well.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something to comfort him, but in the end, he simply did not know what to say in such a situation.
Seeing Yu Xiaogang like this, the guards no longer bothered holding back and burst into loud laughter.
"Master, please tell us how much your 'professional' course costs!" the guards continued mocking him, each word stabbing directly into Yu Xiaogang's heart.
All of his already nonexistent reputation was completely destroyed.
"NOOOOOOO!"
With that, Yu Xiaogang covered his face and ran away without caring about anything, just like he always did.
Seeing Yu Xiaogang flee like this, Flender almost gave up. However, remembering Liu Erlong, he was just about to chase after Yu Xiaogang when he suddenly heard a voice.
"Boss Fu."
Liu Erlong, who had just returned from the clan, saw Yu Xiaogang running away while screaming like an idiot. Seeing this scene reminded her of how he had once run away from her life as well.
Just remembering it made the disgust in her heart grow even stronger.
Seeing Flender about to chase after Yu Xiaogang, she called out to him.
"Erlong!" Flender gasped. The moment he heard her voice, Yu Xiaogang was wiped entirely from his memory.
"Boss Fu, where are you going?" she asked knowingly. She wanted Yu Xiaogang to suffer even more.
"Erlong, Xiaogang is in trouble. Do you want to come with me to help him?" Flender asked carefully, wanting to know her current attitude toward Yu Xiaogang. He had already noticed the disgust in her expression whenever Xiaogang was mentioned, so he wanted to confirm whether she still had feelings for him or not.
"No. And you don't need to help that scum either."
Liu Erlong did not hesitate for even a second. Her expression was filled with disgust the moment she heard Yu Xiaogang's name. Without even looking back, she walked directly into the academy.
Seeing this, Flender was not sad at all. On the contrary, he was overjoyed.
'I don't know what happened, but now Liu Erlong hates Xiaogang. This is a heaven-sent opportunity for me. Brother, don't worry. I will help you after I win over Erlong.'
If Yu Xiaogang heard these thoughts, he would probably cough up another mouthful of blood and curse, 'You really are a good brother.'
Without wasting any more time, Flender immediately chased after Liu Erlong.
"Dean!" the guards greeted respectfully.
"From now on, that scum is not allowed to enter the academy," Liu Erlong ordered coldly.
"Consider it done, Dean! My son is a student here. I won't allow a 'Donkey Riding Expert' to poison his education. I already sent that beggar packing!" one of the guards said proudly while patting his chest.
"Well done. You did a good job. I will increase your pay starting this month," Liu Erlong praised him.
With that, Liu Erlong headed toward her office while Flender followed behind her like a devoted simp.
Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang, who had been running around like a stray dog, was panting heavily. He finally stopped in a small alley in front of a shabby little inn.
Seeing that the inn was hidden deep within the alley, he felt that it would make a good hiding place.
After taking a room, he began waiting for his best friend and his woman to come comfort him like an idiot.
