The ordinary trial interface had refused to record the vault, yet the final evaluation recognized that he had completed something beneath the counted route.
It still did not name the fragments, the Obsidian Key, or the Hollow King. Whatever judged the finished floor knew more than the system messages guiding him through it.
He didn't try to solve that. It went onto the pile with every other question the uncounted path had handed him.
The grade itself, he understood. SSS, not the highest mark. He'd cleared all three mandatory trials, taken two optional treasures, beaten a Gatekeeper he'd enhanced twice, handled every adaptive trap the floor threw, and completed a hidden condition on top of it.
But he'd also walked past optional routes, left treasures unclaimed, skipped counted opportunities the floor had offered.
