Chapter 708: A World Beyond the Map
"Where did you come in?" Leon asked.
The gray-haired woman looked up at him from the stone. She had been sitting apart from her people since the seizure, her hands resting empty on her knees. Leon set the confiscated book on a crate between them.
"Through our gate," she said.
"Which is where?" Leon asked.
"Two days' travel from here, to the west and down. A cleft between two standing stones." She regarded him with open curiosity now, which was an improvement on contempt. "It is how everyone from Tessaryn enters."
"Tessaryn?" Leon repeated.
"My home." She said it as if the word should mean something. When it did not, she tilted her head. "You do not know it."
"No."
"The Vaeloran coast? The Hundred Ports?" She studied his face. "The Salt Crown?"
Leon shook his head to each.
