Chapter 350 - Chapter 350: Wanna Play A Game? Part 5: Hide And Seek!

(Maybe) Nox's POV:

*Swoosh*

*BOOM**BOOM**BOOM*

"Hm?"

Oh, why hello brain worms. I didn't see you there. Now you may be wondering why I've turned back into a half-dragon mutant again, oh and also running through this steamy old forest, dodging giant dark-matter energy balls.

"Well, you see-!"

*BOOM*

"Phew! Close one!" I said as I just barely managed to jump out of the way from that last energy ball.

Now where was I? Oh yeah! So, you see, I'm currently at war with the three old goats and the delegation of the lizard puppet alliance. Sounds exciting, right? Well not for me. Not to brag, but I've seen so many wars that the bloodshed, the death, and horrors, I've experienced it so many times the prospect of fighting a regular old war nearly bores me to tears. So, I decided to spice things up a little and created this scavenger hunt minigame for everyone to play. Of course, my main targets for this game of kill and plunder were the three old goats, but because I felt a little awkward being the only girl in this sausage fest, and because I kind of felt bad for her after hearing the oblivious old man recount his tale of publicly dumping his ex, I decided to invite miss puppet to play as well. And just to spice things up even more, I added some prizes to incentivize participation, and the grand prize of the dumbass-ring, really got her engines revving, so much so, I had to cool her down a bit with a little playboy-repelling coolant, which turned out to be a little more effective than I thought it would be.

Now just to clarify, I have had the playboy repellent bacteria for a while now, and obviously, I have done a number of tests and experiments so I have a decent idea of what it can't and can do. Like it can't infect you through the skin, but it can clog a cultivator's qi canals if it enters their body, however, there are still some things I haven't tried yet. So, I got curious and decided to see what happens when I introduce this omnivorous energy parasite to the energy lifeform that was an earth immortal. The result was pretty predictable for the most part. The energy bacteria started gnawing away at miss puppet's head as they colonized her scalp, but the speed at which their population grew was a little faster than I predicted. I assumed the willpower from the soul aspect of her spirit body would have slowed down the process a little, but nope. A visible mass of bacteria started forming on her head in no time, and it even seemed to mess with her sense of balance somewhat too. So, with miss puppet discombobulated, I kind of just created some mental illusions for her to play with while I observed how the bacteria progressed from the sidelines.

However, just as I was starting to worry if miss puppet might need to call in sick and bow out from the war, she suddenly compressed her spirit body into a black energy ball and darted away from the miss puppet-shaped mass of mould which collapsed in on itself soon thereafter.

Yeah, I forgot she could do that too.

Anyways, when she got tired of being a ball, she quickly saw through my illusion trick and, well, I managed to lose her in the aura fog I created to mess with her spirit sense, but now she's just randomly raining down black balls of death over the entire forest.

"Oh crap!" I said as a multitude of energy balls appeared right over my head.

*Boom**Boom**Boom*

"Well, that's not good!" I said after losing my left arm and right leg.

As of currently, the me that is here doesn't have my spirit core to transform pure energy into my flesh-limbs. A shame, I know, but even with the formula, Nox multiplied by x, I didn't have enough time or resources to outfit all of me with their very own spriggan core in time for this war. Of course, it's not a problem that I lost a limb or two since my body's current regeneration factor has me covered. In fact, I'm already back on my feet, and just in time too, cuz I can see another black ball heading my way.

*Boom*

But not having a spriggan core on hand makes dealing with elemental attacks like this a pain in my wriggly butt-rope. I can't use spirit magic to redirect the attacks, nine of my ten magic energy senses are no longer accessible which is a bit of an adjustment, and, courtesy of my crappy physique, spellcasting is off the table.

"THERE YOU ARE!" My enhanced ears heard miss puppet shout from above, probably spotting me through one of the slowly closing holes in my Swiss cheese outdoor sauna.

Not having time to think it over given how much faster my opponent is compared to the current me, I swung around and threw a punch.

*BANG*

*Spurt*

Low and behold, the incredibly predictable miss puppet has done it again. Ladies and gentlemen, if I could please kinetically redirect your attention away from the ketchup gushing out of my every orifice, to the incredible miss puppet who has done exactly what I predicted once again as we are now bumping fists like a couple of bros trying to murder each other.

"Hey, guess what!" I said to miss puppet.

"Whatever trick you are using, it won't work!" Miss puppet said as her fist was beginning to leak some anti-everything-else darkness for a point-blank energy attack.

"Water gun!" I said, using my free hand to pull a water gun full of playboy repellent from my new spatial ring and pointing it at her face.

*Swoosh*

*Splash*

Rather than following through on her intent to paint me black, the moment I pulled the trigger and the playboy repellent shot out, she immediately jumped backwards at full speed, barely avoiding being hit as she disappeared into the fog.

"Aw! Is miss puppet feeling shy?" I said as I turned around, stomping a few steps to leave my footprint in the ground before backflipping up into a tree to hide.

*Rustling leaves*

*Swoosh*

Moments after, miss puppet returned looking for me, took one glance at my decoy footprints and shouted.

"Damn it! Not again! COME BACK HERE YOU COWARD!"

Before bolting in the direction of my footprints, and just like that, she's lost track of me again. In not too long, she'll probably realize I've duped her, and she'll make it rain again.

*Rustling leaves*

Jumping down from the tree, I began to stretch my now fully recovered body.

"Okay! I think it's about time to finish this!" I said, mostly because this forest is running out of trees and bushes for me to hide in.

I then took a deep breath as I pulled out the big guns.

*Snapping sounds*

"Hm? Oh sweet! Miss puppet is doing the same! Oh man, I forgot to pack my camera golems! I bet this is gonna look so awesome too!"
