The Angel Clan had always been responsible for subsidizing them.
If the Eight Major Legions were to be ranked in order, it would be: Central Army Corps, Sea God Army Corps, Western Army Corps, Northwestern Army Corps, East Sea Army Corps, North Sea Army Corps, Southern Army Corps, and finally, the Northern Army Corps.
The commander of the Northwestern Army Corps was named Yin Moshang, whose martial soul was the Silver Frost Halberd, a Super Douluo. Though not an Ultimate Douluo, the status of the Northwestern Army as one of the top three legions gave Yin Moshang considerable prestige.
In this massive war room, more than four Ultimate Douluo were present. Even for a top-level meeting of the Douluo Federation, this was an exceedingly rare occurrence.
Around the outer circle stood numerous high-ranking military officials and representatives from various organizations. Some had originally felt displeased at not being given seats—but upon sensing the pressure exuded by the top military figures, no one dared to utter a word.
Even the Ultimate Douluo were standing. Who would dare to complain?
"That's right. Our top priority must be to defend the Extreme North. We can't let the sacrifice of the Northern Army be in vain. We must find a way to develop weapons capable of countering abyssal creatures."
"The Federation's Science Institute reportedly has new breakthroughs, but it needs time. We must stall for as long as we can."
"Haha, enough talk. Let's lay out a concrete plan."
Yu Guanzhi waved his hand, and silence fell over the room.
He turned to the representatives from the major soul master organizations seated to his left. In a steady voice, he said, "First, on behalf of the military, I welcome all the representatives here. Thank you for joining the Federation at this critical hour to stand united against our common enemy."
Everyone nodded in acknowledgment.
Yu Guanzhi continued, "I believe you've all reviewed the information we have on the Abyssal Plane. Our enemy is far stronger than any of us imagined. To be honest, even in my lifetime, I have never faced an opponent of this magnitude. All our knowledge about the Abyssal Plane comes from the war six thousand years ago and from the centuries of defense by the Blood God Legion."
"Now, I must first express, on behalf of the military, our highest respect to the Northern Army Corps. In holding back the enemy at our borders, they have sacrificed more than eighty thousand soldiers. Commander Guo himself nearly fell in battle. Their spirit is what we must embrace. I say this to the entire Federation: The Northern Army lives on! The Northern Army lives on! Once the crisis has passed, the Northern Army will be reconstituted and honored as the First Legion of the Federation!"
Yes—Guo Zhenfeng had survived. When the inspection teams reached the battlefield in the Extreme North, they found that he still clung to life. Investigations revealed that it was his own battle armor that had saved him. Though his three-word armor had been completely destroyed, the sentient soul of the forged metal, Soul Extinguisher, had preserved him.
What's more, nearly twenty thousand soldiers of the Northern Army still remained.
Once Guo Zhenfeng regained consciousness, he would still be the commander of the Northern Army—and a great hero of the Federation.
Yu Guanzhi swept his gaze across the assembly. His voice deepened.
"Our forces are nearly gathered. The focus is the Extreme North. The Southern Army will arrive in several days. We can't delay any further—none of us knows how many abyssal powerhouses have infiltrated the Douluo Continent. We must end this in one decisive strike, just like our forebears did six thousand years ago! No matter the sacrifice, for the Douluo Continent, for our future generations, we must fight to the death!"
"Fight to the death!"
"Fight to the death!"
The atmosphere of the meeting surged with fervor and resolve.
"Wait!"
Yu Guanzhi's eyes narrowed as he turned toward a silver-haired figure. "What is it, representative of the Spirit Pagoda?"
The speaker said calmly, "The Spirit Pagoda possesses a divine weapon—capable of permanently annihilating abyssal creatures."
At that moment, the entire hall erupted in commotion.
Yu Guanzhi was stunned. He recalled a soldier from the Blood God Legion once mentioning that someone in their ranks wielded a weapon capable of devouring abyssal creatures. But that person's whereabouts were now unknown…
He hadn't expected the Spirit Pagoda to suddenly declare they had such a weapon.
How could he not be shocked?
"If what you say is true," Yu Guanzhi said, "then our odds of victory rise to sixty percent!" He turned to Gu Yuena. "Show us."
Gu Yuena raised her right hand, and a brilliant silver flash appeared, transforming into a long spear that rested in her grasp.
The moment the Silver Dragon Spear appeared, the natural elements in the air thickened drastically, even gaining a tangible viscosity.
This was clearly—a divine weapon!
"Can you prove your claim?"
Gu Yuena pulled out a small soul tool from her robe and placed it on the table. With a press, a holographic projection was cast into the air.
It showed a silver figure, immense wings spread wide behind her, a dazzling seven-colored radiance surrounding her body clad in a full suit of silver battle armor. Magnificent.
She streaked across the sky like a silver bolt of lightning—then veered sideways and slammed straight into the abyssal horde. Everywhere she passed, enemies fell. Thick black-gray energy rose from the corpses but was quickly devoured by the silver light.
The perspective shifted—to first person.
From her eyes, bursts of multicolored light exploded as she fought, and again it was clear—each time black-gray energy emerged from the slain abyssal beasts, the Silver Dragon Spear instantly absorbed it.
Suddenly, she let out a long roar and soared into the sky, flying higher and higher.
The view panned downward to reveal a gaping crater more than three thousand meters wide on the Extreme North's landscape. Around its edges, not a trace of snow remained—only a vast, creeping mass of black-gray energy.
Countless abyssal creatures swarmed below—impossible to count. Because of her arrival, many high-tier abyssal beings rushed toward her. The air was saturated with a dense gray-black mist.
The silver figure twisted in midair. A green flash burst from her back, propelling her forward at sonic speed in the blink of an eye. She vanished, pulling away from the Abyssal Passage.
The projection ended.
It had lasted only several dozen seconds—but it was more than enough to demonstrate Gu Yuena's point.
The one clad in three-word silver battle armor, without a doubt, was Gu Yuena herself.
She had gone to the Abyssal Passage alone, just to prove her weapon's power.
