After Rimuru was recognized as the new Demon Lord, the Demon Lords began discussing matters related to Clayman.
Based on the name Clayman had shouted before his death-Kazalim-Leon Cromwell provided new information. As one of the Demon Lords, Leon explained that Kazalim had once been a Deathman Demon Lord. He had been killed by Leon long ago and had disappeared from the world since then. Clayman had later inherited Kazalim's former territory.
Because of this, everyone came to the same conclusion.
The former Demon Lord Kazalim had not truly died. He had merely chosen to feign his death.
As the discussion continued, vigilance toward the former Demon Lord Kazalim steadily increased. Even after Clayman's fall, unease lingered. A quiet sense of alarm spread through everyone present.
Once the Demon Lords' discussion finally concluded, Frey suddenly made a request.
She announced that she would relinquish her status as a Demon Lord and swear allegiance to Milim.
Following her decision, Carrion made the same choice. He also gave up his seat as a Demon Lord and declared himself one of Milim's subordinates.
According to Carrion, his reason was simple.
During the battle between Rimuru and Clayman, he had come to understand something very clearly. His strength was far inferior to that of those who had awakened. Remaining among the Demon Lords no longer made sense.
And since Milim had been the one to destroy his kingdom, it was only natural for him to submit to her.
Milim strongly opposed the idea at first. However, after being persuaded by Emiya Shirou and Rimuru, she finally accepted both of their allegiances.
At that moment, the era of the Ten Great Demon Lords came to an end.
Through further discussion, a new alliance name was decided. It was proposed by Rimuru himself.
Octagram.
"With this, I no longer need to worry."
The thought came quietly to Emiya Shirou.
Rimuru's strength was no longer inferior to his own. He had powerful subordinates. He had reliable allies. His future was already clear.
Thinking that far, Emiya Shirou smiled faintly and lowered his gaze to the regular hexahedron resting in his hand.
This was a small space he had carved out from beneath the Jura Forest.
Although it was called small, its interior volume still exceeded a thousand cubic meters.
After returning from the Walpurgis Banquet, Emiya Shirou had devoted himself fully to creating it. Now, it was finally complete.
As for its name, he had followed Rimuru's example.
Just as Rimuru had named the city Emiya City, Emiya Shirou named this space Tempest.
Rimuru's family name.
The hexahedron itself was an item. One that could only be merged into Emiya Shirou's body. Inside it was a small, carefully arranged courtyard.
All of the decorations within had been handled by Shuna.
"It's finally finished, Lord Emiya. With this, the layout here is complete."
"It really is beautiful."
Emiya Shirou looked around, feeling unexpectedly refreshed.
The courtyard had been constructed with care. Flowers, green grass, and stone paths blended naturally together. Even the ceiling had been embedded with special crystals capable of simulating various skies and environments.
Within this space, Emiya Shirou had not left room for item storage. Other magic could handle that easily. Even so, the space itself could still be used for storage if needed.
As expected of something cut directly from the real world.
"As expected of you, Shuna. You're truly skilled with your hands."
Emiya Shirou praised her with a smile.
"Thank you for your praise, Lord Emiya."
Shuna lowered her head. Her face flushed slightly before she hesitated, then asked with quiet curiosity.
"Lord Emiya... did you create this item in preparation for leaving someday?"
"Yes."
Emiya Shirou nodded.
"I have friends in many different worlds. With this item, they'll be able to visit my world in the future as well."
His smile deepened slightly before he added,
"And my departure isn't something far off. It's very soon."
"Eh?"
Shuna stiffened, her voice rising instinctively.
"So soon?"
"That's right."
Emiya Shirou nodded again.
"Rimuru doesn't need my care anymore."
"Does Lord Rimuru know?"
"Rimuru..."
With a soft sigh, Emiya Shirou turned his gaze toward the window.
"I'm about to tell him."
On a cliff outside Emiya City, Emiya Shirou called Rimuru out.
They stood side by side, quietly gazing at the mountains stretching into the distance.
"Rimuru, do you remember the last time we looked at the scenery here together?"
"It really has been a long time."
Rimuru laughed softly.
"It was probably before Shion and the others joined us. Ever since then, we've been busy nonstop. We haven't come back here at all."
"It's been about two years, hasn't it?"
"Roughly."
Rimuru nodded while looking ahead. Memories surfaced naturally.
"Two years..."
Emiya Shirou spoke calmly.
"It's been a long time. I've been very happy during this period."
"...."
Rimuru fell silent.
He understood.
"Are you leaving?"
"Yes."
Emiya Shirou met Rimuru's gaze directly.
"It's been two years, after all."
"I knew this day would come."
Sadness filled Rimuru's eyes. He wanted to stop him. The words stayed stuck in his throat.
Emiya Shirou had family in other worlds. Rimuru knew that better than anyone.
"Will you come back?"
"Isn't that obvious?"
Emiya Shirou reached out and placed his hand on Rimuru's head.
"Of course I'll come back. Emiya City is our joint masterpiece. I'm not letting you have it all to yourself."
"I wasn't trying to!"
Rimuru protested loudly before breaking into laughter.
"Then let's do this. Before you leave, we'll hold a farewell banquet. We'll tell everyone properly."
"What do you think?"
"That sounds perfect."
Emiya Shirou smiled and rolled up his sleeves.
"I'll go all out and make the best dishes I can."
"Then I'm counting on you, Shirou."
"Don't worry."
When Emiya Shirou announced his departure, everyone was stunned.
Reluctance filled their expressions. No one hid it.
However, once they learned that he would return someday, no one tried to stop him.
They were monsters.
Powerful ones.
Their lifespans were long enough that the flow of time barely registered anymore.
Waiting was not a problem.
The mournful atmosphere lingered only briefly before fading away completely.
At the banquet that followed, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
After all, Emiya Shirou was one of their masters.
And he would return.
"Lord Emiya, please take me with you."
During the banquet, after drinking a little, Shuna spoke with a flushed face.
"With you?"
Emiya Shirou froze.
"Yes."
Her eyes were steady.
"I'm your secretary. How could I not follow you?"
"But I'm leaving this world. I might not return for a very long time."
"That's fine."
Shuna smiled gently.
"No matter how long it takes, I'll follow behind you."
"If Lord Rimuru were to leave on a long journey, Shion would follow him too, wouldn't she?"
"Of course."
Shion answered seriously.
She had completely forgotten the time Rimuru left her behind and went to the human world alone.
Emiya Shirou looked at Rimuru and Benimaru.
One was Shuna's true master.
The other was her older brother.
They had the final say.
At his gaze, both of them looked away at the same time.
They didn't meet his eyes.
Emiya Shirou understood immediately.
Shuna had already persuaded them.
"...I understand."
He turned back to her.
"Then please take care of me from now on."
"Yes, Lord Emiya."
Shuna's smile was gentle, and unwavering.
