"Who is it?!"
The sudden voice made Lucrezia spin around instantly, her senses flaring as she scanned her surroundings. Then she saw her.
A pink-haired girl dressed in ancient-style robes slowly stepped out from the nearby jungle, her figure emerging calmly from the shadows of the trees.
It was Shuna.
After Shirou Emiya had taken little Rimuru to the battlefield, Shuna had moved into the surrounding jungle. Her role was clear. She had already deployed familiars and set up a surveillance perimeter, monitoring the situation to ensure that no one interfered with Shirou Emiya's battle.
"My name is Shuna," she said gently, her expression warm. "I am Lord Shirou's secretary."
As she spoke, she smiled at the witch before her.
Unlike the outfits she wore after arriving in this world, Shuna was currently dressed in the clothes she used back in Emiya City. These were not chosen for appearance alone. They were auxiliary tools, garments designed to enhance her strength.
"Lord Shirou?" Lucrezia frowned. "You mean the person fighting the Heretic Gods inside?"
She leaned against a tree trunk and spoke without mercy.
"To fight a Heretic God in human form... what a foolish choice."
In Lucrezia's eyes, only a Godslayer could stand against a Heretic God. How could an ordinary human possibly reach the realm of the gods?
"So what if they are Heretic Gods?" Shuna replied calmly. "Lord Shirou will not be defeated. He will surely slay them and become the legendary Godslayer."
"He's insane."
Hearing Shuna's unwavering confidence, Lucrezia's expression twisted.
If a Heretic God descended, it was still manageable. There would be losses, yes, but as long as they delayed until a Godslayer arrived, the situation could be resolved.
But provoking them?
Driving a Heretic God into a berserk state?
That was courting disaster.
The thought of the residents of Sardinia being completely wiped out by divine wrath made Lucrezia grit her teeth. She turned around, no longer interested in continuing the conversation.
In her eyes, this girl had clearly been brainwashed.
But before she could take another step, Shuna appeared in front of her once more.
"Stop," she said plainly. "No entry beyond this point."
"Why?!" Lucrezia demanded, her voice tight with frustration.
"Because ahead is the battlefield," Shuna replied. "Lord Shirou is performing the great feat of deicide."
"He does not wish for anyone to disturb him."
Her smile faded.
"Therefore, I will stop anyone who tries to proceed."
As she spoke, Shuna released her aura without restraint.
"This...?!"
Lucrezia's pupils shrank instantly.
The moment she sensed the pressure emanating from Shuna, she retreated without hesitation. The presence before her was overwhelmingly dangerous. Even if Lucrezia were uninjured and at her peak, she knew with certainty-
She would not be an opponent.
In that instant, Lucrezia understood.
She could no longer interfere. She could no longer approach the battlefield, let alone attempt to persuade the Heretic Gods.
But if persuasion was impossible, then she would change her goal.
After all, she had come all this way. Returning empty-handed was unacceptable.
"Since I cannot go forward," Lucrezia said slowly, "may I observe from a distance?"
"Naturally."
Shirou Emiya had no intention of concealing himself. Shuna had not been instructed to prevent people from watching.
After a brief pause, Shuna nodded.
"Come with me," she said earnestly. "I'll take you to witness Lord Shirou's glory."
She turned and led Lucrezia deeper into the forest.
They passed through dense foliage, branches brushing past them as they climbed to a high slope. From there, the battlefield finally came into view.
Lucrezia froze.
She saw the figures of the Heretic Gods.
No-
Figures.
Plural.
"How is this possible...?" she whispered. "Two Heretic Gods appeared at the same time."
Before the shock could settle, Shuna pointed toward the sky, where blazing flames illuminated the clouds.
"That," she said quietly, "is Lord Shirou."
The battle had truly begun with Mekal's divine lightning bombardment.
When Shirou Emiya's "Only for that, the Oath Under the Snow" collided head-on with Verethragna's "White Horse," the air itself seemed to scream.
The moment of impact had not yet faded when Shirou Emiya shifted positions instantly.
In the sky, countless Noble Phantasms were projected one after another around him. Under his control, they launched simultaneously, streaking toward Mekal and Verethragna like a storm of steel.
At the same time, Shirou Emiya stepped onto a flying sword.
He drew his bow.
Released.
Again.
And again.
Arrows tore through the air as he unleashed relentless firepower on both gods. Even as he attacked, he never stopped moving. The sky was Mekal's domain, and lingering for even a moment was fatal.
Gales howled.
Rain poured down.
Lightning split the heavens.
Thunder roared.
Under Mekal's interference, countless elemental attacks descended from the sky, converging to erase Shirou Emiya and Verethragna mid-air. From another angle, Verethragna joined in, wielding lightning of his own to strike Shirou Emiya from the side.
It was a three-way melee.
And both gods were his enemies.
Shirou Emiya's attention never wavered.
"Excellent. Excellent. Excellent!"
Verethragna's voice rang out as he transformed into a phoenix. His divine speed surpassed visual perception as he slipped through Shirou Emiya's sword array and arrows, weaving effortlessly between Mekal's lightning and gales.
Then-
He charged straight at Shirou Emiya.
"Why do you always pick on me?" Shirou Emiya muttered. "The easy target."
He instantly layered multiple strengthening spells over his body.
Then he met Verethragna head-on.
The collision shattered the air.
Shirou Emiya was sent plummeting from the sky, crashing violently into the ground and carving out a massive crater. Even with the Sun Wheel Armor-enhanced to provide ninety-nine percent damage reduction-his gauntlets shattered piece by piece under the direct impact amplified by divine speed.
"Excellent! Excellent!" Verethragna roared. "I am very satisfied!"
At the center of the crater, Shirou Emiya gripped Verethragna's wrists tightly. The two locked in a brutal contest of strength.
Shirou could feel it.
The bull-like power was increasing.
Verethragna intended to crush him completely.
"Ugh!"
Blood covered Shirou Emiya's hands and feet as he dug into the ground. Above him, Verethragna maintained his downward posture, continuously applying pressure with the strength of his bull avatar.
"Do you think this will kill me?" Shirou Emiya said, his lips curling into a ferocious smile.
"Don't make me laugh."
In the next instant, he shifted his stance.
Using the Pankration techniques taught to him by Chiron, Shirou Emiya twisted his body and slammed Verethragna down from mid-air, smashing him violently into the ground.
He didn't stop.
He pressed the advantage.
While Verethragna was momentarily unable to defend from the throw, Shirou Emiya attacked bare-handed.
Left hook.
Right hook.
Uppercut.
Downward hook.
Straight punch.
Blow after blow rained down without pause. Kicks followed, precise and brutal. In a single instant, Verethragna took hundreds of strikes, his body riddled with injuries.
Yet he endured.
As expected of the invincible God of War.
Even as he was battered, Verethragna adjusted his posture little by little, regaining his defenses.
Shirou Emiya felt it immediately.
A hidden killing move.
Super Instinct warned him without hesitation.
He didn't linger.
His final side kick landed cleanly, sending Verethragna flying and smashing into the ground once more.
Shirou Emiya exhaled slowly.
Then he spoke calmly.
"Thank you for the fight."
"This is Pankration."
