"Yay!" I jumped up, smiling in excitement.
"Are you this happy just because school has resumed?" Tina asked, clearly indifferent.
"Why would I be happy because school has resumed?" I said, frowning. This past holiday had been fun for me. I got to spend time with my mum again and, of course, with my extended family. The thought of that alone made me smile.
"I'm just happy that I'll be able to participate in extracurricular activities this year," I added with a smile.
"Gosh, I don't really understand you anymore," Tina said, amused.
"Well, you need to," I replied, smiling.
Lately, I've experienced a lot with the people I keep close, and sometimes doubts creep in. But in spite of everything, I'm not willing to let go of Tina. I'd rather stay with her, whether or not I end up getting hurt. I sincerely hope she cares for and cherishes me just as much as I care for and cherish her.
"Isn't that your phone ringing?" Tina asked, bringing me back to reality.
"Yes, it is," I said, laughing.
I picked up my phone—it was the person I had contacted about extracurricular activities.
"Well, Ms. Amelia, how are you doing? I called to inform you that you can join us by next Monday," he said.
"Thank you so much, sir," I replied, smiling widely. It's going to be a nice semester this time around… I hope.
