The island Rael chose for their temporary stop was quiet—too quiet. A stretch of pale sand curled around a deep-green forest, and the sky burned orange as the sun dipped toward evening. The kind of place the world forgot.

Perfect for training.

Rael stood with his arms crossed, watching Robin, Vivi, and Kaya from a distance. The three of them were drenched in sweat as they practiced the drills he had given earlier.

Robin's arms bloomed like dark flowers across the training field as she repeated one move after another.Vivi was soaked through, panting, forcing her body through footwork that Rael insisted she "absolutely needed unless she wanted to get folded like paper by someone fast."Kaya… Kaya looked like she wanted to die, but she kept going, clutching the wooden practice weapon Rael had carved for her.

Rael watched them all with a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

They're improving. Slowly… but definitely improving.

He stepped forward."All right, that's enough. Break."

The three collapsed at once, like puppets with their strings cut.

Robin wiped her forehead and stood up calmly, though he could see the fatigue behind her eyes. "You're pushing us harder than usual."

"Because you need it," Rael replied without hesitation. "Your enemies won't hold back."

Vivi looked up at him, chest rising and falling fast. "We… we are getting stronger, right?"

"Yeah," Rael said, crouching down to her eye level. "You are. But strength isn't just power. It's knowing what you can do best and sharpening it."

He stood up and looked at each of them in turn.

"Which is why starting today, I'm tailoring what you learn."

Kaya blinked. "Tailoring?"

Rael smirked. "Teaching you skills that suit you. Not generic fighting stuff."

The three women straightened, suddenly more attentive.

Robin

Rael walked toward her first.

"Robin. Your Hana-Hana no Mi is already deadly. But your biggest weakness is direct confrontation. Your arms are strong—your body isn't."

Robin nodded, already expecting the critique.

"So," Rael continued, "I'm giving you a technique that'll let you immobilize and counter without relying on raw strength."

He raised his hand.Shadow-like energy swirled at his fingertips.

"This is called Shadow Bind Flow. It links your sprouted limbs together like chains. Makes them reinforce each other. You can hold down people you normally couldn't."

Robin's eyes widened slightly."That… is possible?"

"With your fruit?" Rael grinned. "Very."

He guided her through the motion—slow, deliberate.Robin tried it… and her limbs manifested in a lattice of arms, each reinforcing the next.

Her eyes lit up.

"This changes a lot," she murmured.

Rael shrugged. "Good. Then keep doing it till it's muscle memory."

Vivi

Vivi was next, already stretching out her legs.

Rael chuckled. "Still stubborn. Good."

She flushed slightly. "I just don't want to fall behind."

"You won't," Rael said. "Your strength isn't raw power—it's precision and speed. So I'm giving you something simple but ridiculously effective."

He picked up a small pebble and flicked it.

It shot forward and embedded itself in a tree trunk like a bullet.

Vivi's jaw dropped."K-king Rael, what was that!?"

"Snap Shot," Rael said casually. "You store tension in your fingers and release it all at once. Works with pebbles, knives, bullets, whatever you can throw."

Vivi's eyes sparkled."I can do that?!"

"With practice. A lot of practice. Your hand strength needs to increase, but you have good control."

She clenched her fist, determination burning.

"I'll master it."

"I know."

Kaya

Finally, Rael approached Kaya.

She held her wooden practice weapon like it was the world's heaviest object.

Rael gently placed a hand on her shoulder."You're doing well."

She looked away, embarrassed. "I'm… slow. And weaker than Robin and Vivi…"

"Of course you are," Rael said bluntly.

Kaya froze.

"But that's fine," he continued. "You're not trying to be a fighter. You're trying to survive. And for that, you need something reliable."

He handed her a weighted cane—sleek, balanced, and sturdy.

"This is yours now. And the skill I'm teaching you is called 'Redirect Step.' It lets you avoid attacks with minimal movement. It's about putting your weight in the right place."

Kaya gripped the cane tightly."Will this really… help?"

"It kept a princess alive through three assassination attempts," Rael said. "So yes. Learn it."

Kaya nodded, swallowing her nerves.

Later That Evening

The moon rose. The night breeze cooled the sweat on their skin.

Robin practiced the interconnected limb technique, each motion smoother than before.

Vivi flicked pebble after pebble, slowly getting the angle right.

Kaya focused on shifting her weight—not fast, but precise, deliberate.

Rael watched them from a boulder, arms resting on his knees.

A warmth spread through his chest.

They're really trying…

Robin glanced at him."You look satisfied."

"I am," Rael replied.

Vivi smiled shyly. "Then we'll work harder."

Kaya nodded, cane resting against her shoulder. "We don't want to slow you down."

Rael shook his head.

"You won't. Because you're not just following me…"His voice softened."…you're walking with me."

The three women paused, visibly touched—even Robin.

Rael stood, stretching.

"Tomorrow, we go again. Harder. Stronger. Smarter."

Vivi groaned. "Of course…"

Robin laughed softly.

Kaya whispered, "I'll do my best."

Rael smirked.

"I know you will."

As the waves crashed softly in the distance and the stars shimmered overhead, Rael couldn't shake the feeling that they were on the edge of something new. Something big.

And when it came…they would be ready.
