For a few minutes after the free kick, the Etihad behaved as if the game was finished. City were two up against ten men, the replay was still going round on people's phones, and every time Lukas drifted towards the right touchline, the South Stand started up his name again.
Then, with ten minutes left in the half, City switched off.
Foden picked the ball up just inside Napoli's half in the right half-space. He had time, maybe too much. Bernardo was showing behind him, Rodri was free in the middle, and Lukas was wide on the right. Foden went to turn into the pocket without checking his shoulder first.
Lobotka was right there, and Foden took one touch too many. Lobotka nipped in and took it off his toe.
"Oh, Foden's been caught," said Rob Green. "Napoli can go here."
