A crimson-gold hue painted the horizon as the sun began its slow ascent.
Shaurya stood atop a cliff overlooking the Sanatan Flame Sect, the wind gently brushing against his white robes. He watched the sunrise in silence, his hands clasped behind his back, a peaceful smile gracing his face.
"Peace is great," he whispered to himself. "But this peace will only last for a short time. After this calm, a great war awaits."
He bowed respectfully toward the rising sun, his voice firm and reverent.
"Jai Surya Dev."
With that, he turned and descended the cliff, his mind already focused on the preparations ahead.
Unbeknownst to him, Lin Shu stood behind a tree, watching him with a curious expression.
"What is he doing… bowing to the sun?" she murmured in confusion.
Then she shook her head, her cheeks tinting pink.
"Why am I even thinking about him?"
She turned away, though not before a faint smile tugged at her lips.
Later That Morning
Lin Shu arrived at the female disciple training grounds, where Elder Liya was overseeing practice.
She stepped forward to help, guiding some of the younger recruits with precise movements and gentle corrections. Her natural talent and calm demeanor quickly caught Elder Liya's attention.
"You learn fast, Lin Shu," Elder Liya said with a warm smile. "Your guidance is graceful, yet firm."
Lin Shu bowed slightly.
"Thank you, Elder. I'm simply doing my part."
Meanwhile — A Secluded Area of the Sect
The spies gathered secretly for a meeting.
Unaware that Lin Shu was no longer bound by the curse—or under their control—they welcomed her presence, believing her to still be their ally.
A glowing transmitting formation activated at the center of the room, and the image of Gu Yang appeared.
"We are attacking with full force," Gu Yang announced, his voice cold and commanding. "The Lin Family will join us. First, we will crush the Sanatan Flame Sect. Then, we will seize the entire city."
The spies nodded obediently.
"If possible, kill a few of their disciples before we arrive. Weaken their inner defenses. Spread fear."
The transmission ended.
One of the spies, Gu Wen, smirked.
"Perfect. Let's start with those naive outer disciples… and maybe a few handyman weaklings."
The group chuckled darkly as they began planning their first strike.
Lin Shu silently stood up.
"Where are you going?" one of them asked suspiciously.
She shot him a cold, piercing glare.
His bravado vanished instantly, and he stepped back in fear.
Another spy nudged him.
"Let her go. She's probably handling her part."
Outside, Lin Shu walked calmly toward the inner hall, her face neutral, though her thoughts raced.
Her message had already reached Shaurya.
Central Hall of the Sect
Shaurya sat on his throne in full authority, one hand resting under his chin while his fingers tapped rhythmically against the armrest.
"So… they're bringing their full force," he murmured with a devilish smile. "Then let's show them what true power looks like."
Xiao Lian entered swiftly, determination blazing in her eyes.
"Master, leave the spies to me. I will deal with them."
Shaurya stood and walked over to her, gently placing a hand on her head.
"Xiao Lian, you're still a child. Violence isn't for you unless it's absolutely necessary."
He turned toward two disciples.
"Lee Bie. Xiao Rui. Handle the spies."
"Yes, Master!" they replied in unison before vanishing into action.
Meanwhile — Enemy War Fleet
Far away, aboard a massive warship, Gu Yang stood clad in fearsome black samurai-style armor, a greatsword strapped across his back.
Beside him stood Lin Ru, wearing deep blue armor and wielding a massive axe.
Behind them, nearly five hundred cultivators filled seven airships, ready for bloodshed.
"Today, we end the Sanatan Flame Sect," Gu Yang said darkly.
"And tomorrow," Lin Ru added coldly, "we claim the entire city."
Their fleet surged forward through the skies, heading directly toward their target.
Sanatan Flame Sect
Shaurya stood in the courtyard, surrounded by 470 disciples and four elders.
His presence was calm, yet commanding.
Soon, Xiao Rui and Lee Bie returned, their swords stained crimson.
"Master," Xiao Rui said, bowing. "The task is complete."
Shaurya nodded approvingly and gave a confident thumbs-up.
"Excellent."
"No more pretending. No more hiding."
"Release your true auras."
A golden burst of spiritual energy erupted across the sect.
The very ground trembled beneath the immense power of their collective cultivation.
Shaurya grinned.
"Go. Hide. Let them come."
"Let them see."
The disciples vanished into hidden formations, waiting silently for the moment to strike.
The Enemy Arrives
Soon, the seven enemy ships appeared above the Sanatan Flame Sect.
The sky darkened.
Thunder rumbled—not from the heavens, but from the war cries echoing within the fleet.
Three ships carried the twisted flag of the Gu Family, and three bore the banner of the Lin Family.
Gu Yang and Lin Ru stepped onto the front deck, staring down at the apparently empty sect.
"Empty?" Lin Ru muttered. "Where are they?"
"They're probably celebrating somewhere… drunk with fear," Gu Yang scoffed.
"Let's turn their celebration into carnage."
"They're chilling… and we'll turn it into killing."
They sent one ship forward with one hundred soldiers and a leading elder to begin the assault.
The squad descended confidently onto the sect grounds.
"Kill them all," the elder ordered.
But before a single step could be taken—
A radiant purple array ignited beneath their feet, freezing every attacker in place.
"What?!" the elder shouted.
Suddenly—
Shaurya descended before them in a dramatic superhero landing, wind swirling around him.
A devilish smile curved across his lips.
"You thought you could march into my sect and kill my people?" he asked, his voice like thunder.
"Dream on."
He snapped his fingers.
A surge of purple flames erupted from the array.
The screams of the hundred invaders echoed for only a few seconds before they were reduced to ash.
Above, Gu Yang and Lin Ru watched in horror.
Shaurya slowly looked up at them, pointed a finger toward the sky, and smirked.
"Next turn… is yours."
As the ashes of the fallen invaders scattered in the wind, a chilling silence descended across the battlefield.
Shaurya stood tall within the fading purple glow of the soul-crushing array, his robes fluttering in the wind.
From above, a furious roar shattered the silence.
"You unfaithful daughter! Where are you?! Kill him!!" Lin Ru thundered from one of the ships.
Shaurya did not move.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"So predictable."
From the thick branches of an ancient tree, a figure leapt gracefully into the air.
Lin Shu descended with elegance and power, landing on one leg with her arms stretched outward in perfect balance.
Her robes rippled as she landed beside Shaurya, her aura calm, but her gaze icy and fierce.
Lin Ru's voice trembled with disbelief.
"You… you stupid girl! What are you waiting for?! Kill him!!"
Lin Shu turned toward her so-called father.
Her voice sliced through the silence like a blade.
"Why should I?"
The air froze.
Even the wind seemed to stop.
Lin Ru staggered in confusion.
"What… what do you mean by this?"
Shaurya stepped forward casually, hands behind his back, a smirk playing across his lips.
"What happened, Lin Ru?"
"Did the world crumble beneath your feet?"
He chuckled darkly.
"Did you really believe you could send spies into my sect… and I wouldn't know?"
Lin Ru's face twisted with shock.
"I knew about your little plan from the very beginning," Shaurya continued.
"And the moment Lin Shu stepped into my sect…"
"I severed the curse you placed on her."
"She is no longer your puppet."
Lin Ru, pale with rage, pulled a crimson soul crystal from his robe and activated it.
Nothing happened.
He tried again.
Still nothing.
"No use," Shaurya said coldly.
"The chains you placed on her soul are gone."
"I burned them away."
Lin Shu's face remained calm, though a storm of emotions swirled in her eyes.
"You… you…" Lin Ru stammered, trembling with fury.
"You will pay," Shaurya said coldly, stepping forward as his spiritual pressure slowly rose.
"For everything you did to her."
"For killing her mother."
"For torturing her."
"For trying to sell her off like property to marry some filthy trash."
Lin Ru roared in rage.
The air around him crackled as he released his full aura.
[System Alert: Name: Lin Ru | Level: Core Formation – Level 8]
Shaurya narrowed his eyes.
"So… this owl does have some fangs."
Suddenly, Gu Yang descended from his ship, resting his blade on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, Lin Ru," he said with a bloodthirsty grin. "We'll crush this arrogant brat together."
Shaurya glanced upward.
[System Alert: Name: Gu Yang | Level: Core Formation – Level 6]
Two Core Formation enemies.
Both powerful.
Shaurya rolled his shoulders and cracked his knuckles.
Lin Shu glanced at him.
"Are you… nervous?"
Shaurya exhaled slowly.
"No."
"Just warming up."
He suddenly raised his voice.
"Come out, all of you!"
In an instant, hundreds of figures emerged from behind rocks, trees, and hidden formations.
Shaurya's disciples.
His army.
One by one, they released their suppressed cultivation.
A brilliant golden light flooded the sect grounds.
The pressure was immense.
Lin Ru and Gu Yang staggered backward in disbelief.
"This… this isn't possible…" Gu Yang whispered. "They're… this strong?!"
Shaurya grinned.
"You really are fools."
"Everything you saw… was exactly what I wanted you to see."
"You thought we were weak?"
He laughed darkly.
"You walked straight into my trap."
With a sharp snap of his fingers, he pointed toward the ships.
Lin Ru and Gu Yang, now completely enraged, roared in unison.
"ATTACK!!"
Four hundred cultivators—disciples, elders, and elite warriors from the Gu and Lin Families—leapt from the ships, descending with murderous intent.
Shaurya stood firm and raised his hand.
"Disciples of the Sanatan Flame Sect…"
"Let the show begin."
A thunderous war cry erupted.
"YEAHHHHHHH!!"
Four hundred enemy cultivators clashed against 470 disciples and three elders of the Sanatan Flame Sect.
They charged toward one another.
The earth trembled.
The skies roared.
Spiritual energies collided in violent explosions.
Sword against sword.
Fist against fist.
A massive collision.
Shaurya and Lin Shu stood on the ground.
Across from them, Gu Yang and Lin Ru floated above their troops, releasing killing intent like thunder.
Their gazes locked.
Shaurya's eyes burned with fire.
Lin Ru's eyes burned with rage.
Gu Yang's eyes burned with bloodlust.
Lin Shu stood silently beside Shaurya, her resolve hardening.
The real battle…
Had begun.
To be continued…
