"They've already infiltrated the underground…" Luke's voice was tight with frustration.
"The underground?" Rain asked, blinking. "What's there?"
She'd never even heard of this place before… even in her past life.
"It's a vault," Luke said, frowning. "A place where the Empire stores artifacts too dangerous for the Royal Treasury. Only the Principal and a few others know about it."
Another voice came from the corner of the room.
"It's already too late," Torrent said.
Rain turned toward him and froze.
He wasn't a child anymore.
His body had grown and his features were sharper now, his once-boyish face maturing into something closer to her own age.
"It's usually guarded by a group of elite soldiers and mages," Torrent continued, his voice sounding grim. "But my guess? They're all dead and the Perpetrator has the cursed band."
Luke exhaled slowly. "You're growing again… that means your mana's returning."
