Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Brawl in the jungle

"I have to take full vengeance for my fallen dad!," said Chiko, the dead old man's son.

"Don't waste my time! I have a lot of things to do!," Minteh called out, stretching slightly.

As he looked away, Chiko removed his belt. He held it in his left hand and it harden like a sword. The deputy sheriff looked on in awe.

"Minteh, you may be more skilled than us in fighting with a few martial arts moves and training, but you can't kill us like bugs!," the deputy sheriff spoke out timidly.

Minteh's face stiffened and he made an angry roar, scaring the two men. He then turned to them and said, "people like you deserve to die with no burial place prepared for you! And you deputy sheriff, you don't deserve that title! You're a disgrace to the police! Prepare to die!"

He then leaped up like a kangaroo and launched into action, catching the two men by surprise, yet not both but one.

Chiko stepped aside swiftly, dodging the deadly blow Minteh had thrown. The deputy however was a bit slow though he managed to dodge the full force of the blow.

He was pushed back a few steps staggering, before regaining his footing.

The two then launched into action against one, Minteh, and threw punches in quick succession. Minteh blocked the two men and pushed them away using their force on them by an Eastern move of 'overcoming hardness with softness'.

As they stopped moving backwards, Minteh taunted, "is that the best you can do?"

He then moved with such speed that no one seemed to see him coming, determined to end the two men. He shaped his hands into a knife shape and his hands moved in a blur. But to his surprise, Chiko seemed to have seen it coming; in fact, he managed to block him with ease, and also shield the deputy sheriff.

Minteh was taken aback and stared at the man in surprise.

"How is it possible?! How could he manage to block it?! He is a worthy opponent; I must tread carefully!," he thought.

"Are you surprised that you didn't know if there was a worthy opponent?," Chiko asked, sneering. "You haven't seen a thing!," he continued.

Minteh mustered his composure again and asked, "simply because you have a few moves, does that make you my equal? Alright lemme see if you will be able to stop this and to hold your ground while protecting your fellow maniac!"

He then stretched his arm and the space seemed to open up and he reached for a long blood-red sword. "This is called 'the bloody sword'; it only comes out to drink blood!," Minteh said, seemingly massaging the face of the sword.

The sheriff wanted to run but mustered the courage to stay by what he heard Chiko say, "oh, okay, lemme see what will win, between your bloody blade and my dragon slayer." He then revealed his belt that had turned to a sword.

It then seemed to increase in length and slightly in breadth. He then stood tall and the two men faced off.

Minteh then let out a loud angry roar, and then sliced the air before him with such force that cut the nearby trees down though the blade didn't touch them.

Chiko braced himself and met the challenge. He flew in the air and descended face down legs up, pointing the dragon slayer right where the bloody sword's impact is expected to be greatest.

The two forces collided and there was a deep pit where the two swords met. The effect threw the men to different directions. Chiko and Minteh managed to stay standing, yet the deputy sheriff, fell like a pack of cud.

He coughed violently and trickle of blood escaped his mouth.

Minteh received another surprise of the day. The blade blow he had thrown was strong enough to put down an entire three kilometer radius forest of big trees. Yet Chiko has stopped and seemed unfazed.

"Is Chiko already a golden soul warrior? Only them can stop this bloody sword!," Minteh thought, wondering. Yet again, he had underestimated his opponent.

"But I must end this fight today!," he said.

"Deputy sheriff, it's time to die!," he called out. The deputy sheriff panicked and looked for a refuge but could find none.

Minteh cast a spell the bloody sword now transformed into many shimmering daggers.

"A thousand swords as one, go!," he commanded.

The many daggers made rotations around Minteh before moving in the directions of the two men.

The deputy sheriff panicked and cried out but there was no help. "Chiko, help me!," he pleaded. But Chiko seemed to be busy casting spells that could shield himself.

The daggers transformed again into beams of light and one by one, they penetrated the deputy's body and for a moment, they seemed to have no impact. The deputy sheriff smiled and called out, "is this what you threatened to kill me with?"

He then looked at Minteh's expression and realized something was off. He then started feeling warm and gradually, his body temperature increased, and before he knew it, his whole body was hot.

"That's what we call the 'soul searing tribulation'," Minteh said. "It attacks you from your spirit and burns your soul, before your body burns to ashes," he explained.

The deputy sheriff felt unease as the temperature of his body was now increasing rapidly. "Please, Minteh, we can talk about it. Please, be merciful," he pleaded but it was a bit too late.

His whole body started to redden as though being cooked in the oven.

He then exploded like a cannon with a booming sound.

The deputy sheriff was dead!!

Minteh had killed him with such ease that he couldn't resist the blow at all.

As for Chiko, he gave out yet another surprise to Minteh.

He had formed a talisman that counter attacked the daggers, and to Minteh's surprise, his daggers were all consumed except them that attacked the deputy sheriff. In fact none of them even came near him.

They didn't even transform to beams of light as the case was with the deputy sheriff.

"Is this the best you've got?," Chiko challenged him. "Why do you even rely on those useless artifacts? Meet me face to face of you're a man enough!," he continued.

Minteh was so surprised at this man's boldness. "I think it's time for you to learn a lesson!," he said.

He then chanted a spell and revealed his true figure.

This also terrified Chiko and he panicked, losing his composure.

"Is he a celestial yet?!!," Chiko thought aloud.
