Chapter 496 - Chapter 493: If You Find One Cockroach...

"Is that... a Cargo Starskiff?"

They hadn't walked far when a moderately sized Cargo Starskiff came into view.

Yanqing scrutinized the Starskiff, but found nothing unusual—it was just a standard Cargo Starskiff.

"Hmm? Yanqing, look over there," Yunli said, also observing the Cargo Starskiff.

After a moment, Yunli pointed to a specific spot inside the Cargo Starskiff.

"Uh... is that... fur?" Following Yunli's gaze, Yanqing spotted a tuft of fur that stood out slightly against the interior.

"That's Borisin fur," Lumina said after a quick glance.

"Borisin fur? Borisin fur in a Cargo Starskiff's cargo hold..." Yanqing frowned, rested his chin in his hand, and pondered briefly before concluding:

"They... wouldn't be trying to smuggle the Borisin out of the Luofu territory, would they?"

This was the Luofu's exit, not its entrance. Any Cargo Starskiff here would only have one route: flying beyond the Luofu's borders.

"Huh? Not sending Borisin into the Luofu, but sending Borisin out of the Luofu?" March 7th felt goosebumps rise on her arms at these words.

Though the two sentences differed by only a single word, their implications were worlds apart.

The former suggested that Borisin had yet to infiltrate the Luofu, merely that some Luofu citizens had turned traitor. A minor issue, perhaps, but hardly a crisis.

The latter, however... meant the Luofu was already teeming with Borisin.

Meaning they could now move freely within the Luofu, right under its very nose...

"Th-this... th-this..." March 7th stammered, too shocked to speak.

Recalling the Borisin at the Starskiff Jetty and these three at the Stargazer Navalia, it seemed...

"Lady Lumina, may I examine their belongings?" Yanqing asked, his head bowed, lost in thought.

He raised his head, focusing his gaze on the three Borisin, and directed his question to Lumina.

"Hmm, by all means," Lumina nodded, ceasing the flow of energy.

Thud!

The moment the green light enveloping them dissipated, the three Borisin plummeted from the air, crashing heavily to the ground with a resounding thud.

Yanqing paid them no mind. He crouched down and began examining all the items on their bodies.

Before long, as his inspection concluded, his expression turned grim.

"These guys... they all have official identities."

"And..." Yanqing paused.

"Their identities are all genuine, right?" Yunli interjected, waving her hand.

Though not a Luofu native, Yunli understood the gravity of the situation.

For a Borisin to obtain official status on the Luofu, there were only two possibilities:

Either the Borisin had worked diligently and strived to join an official organization through legitimate means,

Or they had connections in high places...

The former was acceptable, but the latter would spell serious trouble...

"Correct." Yanqing picked up a Cloud Knight identity tag and examined it, his face etched with thought.

"Found anything?" Yunli asked.

"Lu Jun... this Cloud Knight's name is Lu Jun. He's a duty officer with the Patrol Guard?" Yanqing recalled briefly before remembering.

"I saw this Cloud Knight named Lu Jun after the unrest caused by the Borisin at the Starskiff Jetty."

"But..."

"It's not just one person..."

"To be able to freely enter and exit the Xianzhou so brazenly... This feeling is just terrible..."

"And what's worse is..." March 7th seemed to realize something, hesitated for a moment, then blurted out, "If I found a cockroach on the Train, it would mean..."

"It would mean Pom-Pom would immediately jump up, hand you the broom, and order you to clean it up, while also scolding you for not cleaning properly last time." Lumina cut in, answering with a smile before Yanqing or the others could reply.

"Uh... Sister Lumina, I was just using an analogy, not talking about anything on the Train," March 7th stammered, her small face drooping. This behavior of Sister Lumina's... doesn't it seem a bit familiar?

Hmm...

Ah, it's just like that girl!

A gray-haired girl who loved rummaging through trash cans flashed through March 7th's mind.

Why is Sister Lumina gradually becoming more like that girl?!

Once again, March 7th blamed Stelle, completely overlooking the fact that this was simply Sister Lumina's true personality.

"Of course I know you didn't mean it literally," Lumina replied, her smile unfading.

"I was just trying to lighten the mood since everyone seemed so tense."

"See? Aren't things much less tense and worried now?"

Lumina, well aware of what March 7th had been trying to convey earlier, offered an explanation.

"Oh, I see... As expected of Sister Lumina!" March 7th scratched the back of her head, pondered briefly, then nodded with genuine admiration, praising Lumina.

"We must report this to the General immediately."

"There are undoubtedly more Borisin infiltrating the Luofu."

"With such a large-scale invasion, their plot must be far more significant than mere information theft."

Despite Lumina's efforts to lighten the mood, Yanqing, as a Cloud Knight, had to maintain absolute focus when the safety of their nation was at stake.

"Don't worry, Yanqing," Lumina said, shaking her head at his appearance.

"Don't underestimate Jing Yuan, and certainly don't underestimate the people of the Luofu."

"It's entirely possible that every move these Borisin make is being watched by Jing Yuan himself."

"Ah... Lady Lumina speaks wisely." Yanqing nodded, realizing the truth in her words.

After all, if even he could detect their activities, there was no reason why his General wouldn't have discovered it.

"Besides," Lumina continued, "there are three Generals present on the Luofu right now. Do you really think these Borisin can cause any serious trouble?"

Unless she herself inexplicably sided with the Borisin and launched a 360-degree, no-blind-spot assault on the Luofu, Lumina couldn't imagine how such a small group of Borisin could pose any real threat to the Luofu.
