Chapter 867 - Why Aren’t You Stopping Me?

And Yun Jin was an unexpected one.

Before, the Heavenly Dao had tried every possible way to entrust its daughter to Yun Jin, but back then, it never imagined she could accomplish so much.

The Heavenly Dao's daughter now seemed trivial in comparison. Yun Jin had elevated the entire small world's cultivators' strength, pushing the Heavenly Dao to the brink of advancement.

Although the Heavenly Dao lacked emotions, it still appreciated Yun Jin's help. Since that was the case, it was willing to pay some price to send Yun Jin away from this world destined for destruction. If one day, she could ascend to the God Realm, she could avenge the small world's cultivators.

This was also the only solution it could conceive.

"Send me away? So I can get revenge later?" Yun Jin smiled, her voice calm, "If the whole world is destroyed, revenge later won't bring anyone back. I've never accepted regrets."

She could leave.

But…

Her Masters.

Her senior brothers and sisters.

Her companions.

All the disciples of Wushuang Sect.

All of them would die.

Revenge later might be possible, but even after it, they wouldn't come back to life.

Yun Jin didn't accept such regrets. Her voice was calm. The Heavenly Dao remained silent. Then it finally said, "I understand."

Yun Jin nodded and turned back to her barbecue, not bothering with it anymore.

After a while, a voice echoed again. "Thank you."

Yun Jin raised an eyebrow, surprised. They said the Heavenly Dao had no emotions. And now it actually said thank you?

She smiled, "You're welcome."

Her rebirth owed something to the Heavenly Dao. And her ability to accomplish so much later also relied on the Heavenly Dao secretly opening backdoors. At most, their relationship was mutually beneficial.

The Heavenly Dao fell silent, completely still.

Above the void, in the boundless space, infinite rules quietly flowed, covering everything and forming a long river of laws.

A pure white soul floated slowly along this river of rules. It looked worriedly toward the direction of the Sky City.

The five Immortal Emperors…

It knew what they were scheming. But it would rather die than submit. Yet after being plotted against by such beings for so many years, how could it avoid them?

When that day finally came, it hoped Yun Jin would grow fast. It would rather be Yun Jin than let any of those Immortal Emperors succeed.

The pure white soul thought this and then hid back into the river of rules, leaving no trace.

Yun Jin waited several days.

The demon soul was finally arriving.

The Heavenly Dao's voice sounded again: "It's coming. I can't intervene directly with the cultivators."

Yun Jin nodded, "Don't worry."

The Heavenly Dao wasn't concerned either. It knew Yun Jin's current strength was more than enough to handle a demon soul.

"I can help you hide your traces," it added.

Yun Jin probably had her own way, but the Heavenly Dao still wanted to lend some help.

"Alright, thanks a lot," Yun Jin said with a smile.

The power of rules descended.

Yun Jin vanished in an instant.

After a while, an excited voice rang out.

"This is it!" the demon soul shouted.

It had sensed this place long ago. This was where the small world's spatial power was weakest. With its current strength, it could break the spatial barrier and send this world's coordinates to the Outer-Realm Demon God!

If its plan succeeded, once the consuming demon descended here, Yun Jin would be just an ant under its finger.

Thinking of all the times Yun Jin had defeated it, the demon soul seethed with rage.

Fortunately…

Revenge wasn't far off.

Soon, it broke into the entire space.

It sensed a faint trace of the Heavenly Dao's will and sneered.

Of course, the Heavenly Dao wanted to stop it.

Too bad.

The Heavenly Dao couldn't directly interfere with a cultivator's actions. This faint trace of will could be forcibly broken.

Still…

Recalling previous encounters, it instinctively looked around. This time, Yun Jin wouldn't suddenly appear again, would she?

The space was small, and there was no one in sight. The demon soul chuckled.

"Yun Jin, right? You're supposed to be everywhere. Come on, show yourself this time!"

The space remained silent.

The demon soul laughed again.

It had arrived at the fastest speed possible. Could Yun Jin really be faster?

Besides, no one else in this world knew this was the weakest spot for spatial power.

No matter how it thought about it, Yun Jin couldn't appear here.

Yet… somehow…

Why did it feel like…

A smell of barbecue?

The demon soul sniffed again but caught nothing.

"Probably just an illusion," it muttered.

It stopped thinking about it and ordered Yang Yun, "Quick, stand there and use your power to weaken the spatial force!"

Once the spatial barrier opened, it would transmit the coordinates to the Demon God!

Yang Yun clenched his teeth, powerless to resist. He stepped forward, diligently weakening the spatial force.

The demon soul nodded in satisfaction. Though there had been some hiccups, the last step was finally at hand.

That damn Yun Jin wasn't here.

The damn Yang Yun couldn't resist anymore.

The Demon God's glory was about to shine upon this world!

Bored, the demon soul began taunting endlessly.

"So, Yun Jin, weren't you all that? Why aren't you stopping me now? Don't want to?

You're just king of a third-rank small world. Once the Demon God arrives, you'll be nothing but an ant, got it?

Ha! She really thought she won! A frog in a well, how could she know the world's vastness?"

The demon soul enjoyed its own words, cursing with delight.

Hidden nearby, Yun Jin frowned silently. This demon soul was poisonous. She didn't even do much, just beat it up a few times and ruined a few of its schemes. Was that enough to hold such grudge?!

She sighed. She was kind, so let it enjoy its last bit of happiness.

Even though this was the weakest spot, weakening the spatial force wasn't easy.

Under the demon soul's constant urging, Yang Yun spent ten days and nights using the small world's peak strength to finally breach the spatial force.

A tiny gap appeared in the spatial barrier, but it would vanish in an instant. The demon soul needed to seize it immediately to transmit the coordinates.

Yang Yun's eyes flickered. He was about to act when suddenly all the demon runes bound him. His face changed slightly.

"You've betrayed me several times. Do you think I'd still trust you?" the demon soul sneered. "Stay put, obediently!"

It emerged from Yang Yun's body, pure demonic energy dispersing from its soul.

The demon soul silently recited this world's coordinates, waiting for the instant the gap appeared.
