Chapter 194 - The End of 1st Year at UA! (II)

The next day,

UA

A sullen atmosphere lingered in Class 1-A as they waited for Aizawa to come and declare the results.

Mina, Kaminari, Eijiro, and Sato, who had failed their Practical Exams, were standing with pale faces by the door, Midoriya and Tenya trying to cheer them up.

In the back, Luke stared up toward the roof, his mind brooding over many things.

All Might had already made him try Spirit Vision once more after they had woken up yesterday. But Midoriya had failed to meet the Vestige. It was clear that he had tired himself too much to even focus properly then.

All Might had been so excited to hear about Midoriya's first meeting with Nana Shimura that he had even forgotten to ask the most crucial question from Luke.

How did he help Midoriya reach that place — without Nyx by his side?!

But Luke knew this question was bound to be asked. If not now, then later. He had already thought of an excuse. Moreover, as no one other than All Might knew about this, there was no hidden threat of someone figuring out anything fishy with all this, too.

The mystery of Midoriya suddenly floating also helped his case, attracting many questioning eyes towards him. They still hadn't thought of a valid excuse for that case. With Midoriya not able to use Float whenever he wanted, he could keep feigning ignorance for some time, it seemed.

Also, to Luke's great relief, Sand had stood true to his word. All the surveillance on him had disappeared last night, even the most distant ones, keeping an eye on him using snipers.

To be on the safe side, Luke had decided not to visit Dr. Blessed's HQ and call upon his members last night.

Aizawa was going to mention the timetable related to the Training Camp. He could then plan the remaining days till then more precisely, as he had a few crucial things to take care of — involving an overseas trip.

Now that he was already an International Criminal, there was no point in remaining limited to Japan.

"Luke…"

It was Toru.

"I saw your match," Luke said, smiling. "You held yourself well, Toru… Ah… I mean, Hagakure."

Uraraka sniggered next to Luke as others smiled wryly. By now, they all knew Luke wasn't good with sticking to the traditional way of not using first names.

It still felt odd when he accidentally called girls by their first names, though.

As Toru blushed and pouted, Luke hurriedly apologized.

"Never mind…" She said. "… I… I heard you are helping Todoroki and Midoriya — in the Training Camp. Can you help me, too? Sand will not be there… And, I want to learn how to fight even better…"

Luke's brows rose. "How did you know about me and Todoroki and Midoriya?"

Todoroki, seated to Luke's left, also wanted to know that.

To Luke's right, Uraraka suddenly found something on the wall, trying her best not to show her face. It was she who had told Toru… after she had learned this from Midoriya.

"… You are helping Midoriya and Todoroki with training?" Shoji asked, approaching them. "I can need a helping hand, too… Of course, if you don't mind…"

"No!" Mina suddenly came crying. "I want Luke, too!!"

"…"

Then, realizing what she just said, Mina began crying even louder.

"Tch!" Bakugo, seated with his legs up on the desk, tsked. "What a bunch of losers! If you lost, the worst you can do is cry about it…"

A vein throbbed on Nyx, who was on Momo's desk, trying to get her to bring swimsuits with her.

"Deku!" Nyx mimicked Bakugo's voice perfectly. "Save me! Deku!!"

"You dare!" Bakugo threw himself up. He then looked around and found everyone laughing. "I… never… said… that!!"

"… Alright, alright," Luke said, seeing even Tenya coming towards him. He didn't know what gave the children the idea that he could help them train… Still. "We will be at the same place. Let's help each other."

Watching Luke from her desk, Momo let out a small smile.

When she looked away, she found Nyx staring oddly at her, a sly smile hanging on her beak.

"… Wh… What?!" Momo asked, blushing.

"Someone's in love…" Nyx cawed.

"… No!" Momo gasped, catching all eyes, making her go red.

Before she could hide her cheeks, though, the class's door opened with a loud BANG!

"Get back in your seats!" Erasure Head said.

In an instant, everyone was back in their seats, including Nyx.

Coming to the front, Erasure Head faced the students. "Good work in the Final Exams," he began. "Unfortunately, there are those who didn't pass the exams. Mina, Kaminari, Sato, Eijiro, and… Sero."

That raised many brows.

Sero had been a part of a team, the other two being Shoji and Mineta, and they had won their match.

"Points were distributed for individual contributions," Erasure Head explained. "Sero didn't make the cut."

Everyone looked at Sero with pity because…

"Accordingly, for the Training Camp," Erasure Head said, "… everyone's going!!"

Mina and Kaminari shot to their feet, crying tears of joy. Everyone else' faces also held shock, the last-minute twist taking them by surprise.

"… It's getting a little old," Nyx said out loud. "Keep lying about this, and they won't take you seriously next time."

Tenya, Momo, and Fumikage nodded at that.

"That's true." Erasure Head admitted. "I will consider that. Also, Luke…"

Luke sat straight. "Yes, Sir?"

"Submit a 10-page report on Discipline before leaving School on behalf of Nyx," Erasure Head ordered.

"What?!" Luke felt cheated. "She… She… Sigh! Yes, Sir."

"Alright," Erasure Head, seeing everyone holding back a laugh. "Now the main topic. Training Camp. Because of repeated attacks by Villains… UA has decided to take some extra measures for students' security this time. It will be a three-week-long camp at a confidential location next month. So, you will have this entire month to yourselves. Make sure you don't waste it. Make a plan for yourself. Decide on which part of your Quirks you would like to focus during the Camp."

As the students' faces gained a serious look, Erasure Head nodded to himself.

"Do not take this Training Camp lightly," he warned. "There's a reason we are arranging it during the Term Break."

Asui raised her hand. "Sir… What reason?"

Erasure Head grinned. "Provisional Hero License Exam," he said, making all eyes pop out. "The highlight of your third term at UA. If you want to step forward on the path of becoming a Pro, then Training Camp is the last opportunity you can afford to go to waste. OK. Dismiss."

As a nervous, but also excited, buzz rang within the students, Luke and Nyx's gazes met.

"A Hero, huh?!" They said together, smiling, saying goodbye to their first year at UA.

AN: This Volume has not ended, but I would still like to hear you guys out regarding the pacing of fic compared to original work. The anime only spanned a year, with the Characters never making it to the second year.

We are already looking at the second year, though. I have the first three years of UA planned out. Still, I would love to hear what you think of the upcoming years and what would you like to see. Turning one year of anime into three also gives me much space to include many concepts and focus on individual characters like Todoroki, Bakugo, Momo, and other original ones more.

The involvement of Tarot Club members, and other concepts from Lord of Mysteries, will be limited in these three years. In the upcoming chapters of this volume, you will realize how I am planning to incorporate LOTM more into the novel. Anyway, after three years, we will see a much deeper involvement.

Alright, that's it from me. Will look forward to you guys suggesting some cool things.

UA - 2nd Term Arc - Ends.

The next arc is centered around my Original Concepts, but Bakugo will be one of the main focus points in it.

Good Luck and enjoy!
