Chapter 155 - Secret measures and hidden ability of the doll

Johan went back to the same spot, and as he stepped, he bounced into the sky again and floated.

"Ah fuck, again!" Johan shouted.

Adam and Lyra looked back and realized the issue. Adam focused on the spot of the Codex mana modification and erased the code, returning it to normal. Johan began free-falling, then his invisible hands grabbed the ground, and finally, after getting thoroughly pissed, he got his rest.

"Lyra, I have something else to show you," Adam excitedly said. "Look at this!" Adam removed his hands.

His hands were severed from his body, yet he held them, moving the fingers. Adam threw them on the ground, and they attached back to his arms.

"Isn't that the doll's ability?" Lyra noted.

"Yeah, it's coded beautifully, and when it merged, my body also coded similarly as the doll," Adam stated.

Adam showed the doll as it emerged from his hands. "I don't even need to say the instruction now. The doll can follow my mind like one." Adam stated.

"I figured something interesting as well. I want you to do something once I'm done," Adam said.

As Adam coded his heart and brain, his whole body became coded.

"Okay, kill me. Stab my brain or heart," Adam told Lyra.

"I'm not going to do that," Lyra stated.

"I won't die, please trust me and stab me," Adam convinced Lyra.

Lyra took her spear and thrust it at Adam's heart. Suddenly, Lyra was looking at Johan.

"Your spear is missing!" Adam whispered in Lyra's ear.

Lyra looked around, realizing the spear that was supposed to be in her hands was gone.

"Wait, why am I looking at Johan? I just got a déjà vu of killing you, Adam. You showed me your severed hand, your doll, and asked me to stab you," Lyra stated, confused.

"That all happened; it isn't a déjà vu," Adam explained. "I coded my body so that when I die or receive fatal damage, my Time Control skill will rewind time 15 seconds before and stop time for the remaining 45 seconds. If my MP isn't enough to stop for 60 seconds, my special mana potion will be used to meet the requirement. I just used up one of my special mana potions."

"You coded yourself using your time manipulation skill?" Lyra was shocked by Adam's intelligence.

"Well, after having your AI mind connected, I'm able to figure out and piece things together like you, Lyra," Adam explained. "I have 99 chances now of death, so I can make full use of it for emergencies," Adam explained, as his special mana potions were left with 99 vials. Adam doubted he could get any more system coins after this, and the mana potions were a special type only made by the system shop.

Adam then opened his status and received notifications. As he opened them, four tickets appeared, opening to the menu of a special random box. "Lyra, what is this?" Adam asked.

"It's as stated: a special random box, from artifacts to legendary weapons, armor to special items. Each ticket represents 5 million system coins spent. This is very useful," Lyra informed him.

"Wait, I could have gotten five tickets. What happened to my 7 million system coins before?" Adam asked.

Lyra hacked into the system, searching, and realized the problem. "Your glitch erased the 7 million system coins after the connection with the above. It returned back to zero and recounted back to 20 million. So technically, the 7 million is included inside the 20 million, where for each 10th level, you receive 1 million system coins. However, if you had spent the 7 million before connecting to the above, you could have received five tickets. Since the 7 million was a glitch before connections, it would have been extra coins from the glitch," Lyra stated.

Adam's heart sank, knowing he should have spent it in the unknown lands before connecting to the "above." However, it might have been spent on useless random boxes giving trash items.

Nirik interrupted both of them. "The time is up. I will take my leave. Once you have received the artifact, call my name," Nirik said as he suddenly vanished in a bright light.

"Noooo! I haven't used the tickets!" Adam shouted, feeling a missed opportunity. Adam sat down in disbelief as the connection to the shop was gone.

"It's fine, Nirik came and helped us. We have all the things needed for the war," Lyra spoke, grabbing the spear from Adam. "It's easier now to deal with the special variants!" Lyra stated.
