"We need to save Vlad and Serbas," Adam said, seeing both men agonizing in pain.
"Dahlia, Amon, Lamia. I won't be able to live much longer. The knife is a permanent death, and I have very little time left. Cough... I want you to return to our old world and never let me become who I am today," Serbas whispered, his tears flowing.
The whole family hugged Serbas tightly.
"I'm sorry for letting you go through this life, suffering for us," Dahlia cried, knowing the terrible price her husband had paid.
"Dad, I love you!" Amon and Lamia wept.
"I love you all. I wouldn't change anything to see your faces here now. I'm happy to see my family alive again," Serbas choked out.
"Adam, you need to bring my family and Vlad back to our old world. Vlad can merge with his old body, since his heart still exists in that world. That would save him before his body gets destroyed here," Serbas instructed Adam. "Vlad, please. I am counting on you to put me on the right path. I entrust my other self and my family's safety to you."
Everyone watched as Serbas struggled to continue talking. "Adam, thank you. Maybe in another time we could be..." Serbas's voice faded as his life slipped away.
"Friends," Adam replied, holding Serbas's hand, honoring the man he knew he truly was.
As Serbas's body deteriorated, something trembled underground. His body turned into light particles that swirled around.
"Everyone get back!" Lyra shouted. Adam carried Serbas's family away and cast a barrier around everyone nearby.
The Great Reset
The particles transformed as the ground shook violently. The earth protruded upwards into the sky, shining brightly. Everything around them was pushed back as strong wind currents blew rubble and people away from the location. As the dust cleared, a massive Dungeon that stretched into the sky appeared. The first dungeon that had ever existed in that world appeared before their very eyes. Suddenly the inhabitants of the world was able to see a status window open in front of their own eyes. Before they could react further their ears ringing loudly feeling a sound vibrating from the sky.
A bright light shone down from the sky as celestial beings descended. They remained in the sky, broadcasting a command that instantly appeared on everyone's Status window.
The command read:
The lands are divided for the different species to coexist. Each species will be assigned a system of leveling up. 100 years of peace will be enacted until the Dungeon with 100 levels is conquered. Each species will decide how their civilization will thrive, as all are equal. The Reset of the world will begin.
As the last of the command was given, meteors rained down across the world, destroying every sign of the past civilization. The meteors emitted powerful mana, causing a rapid growth of new vegetation and terrain across the world. Everything was changed in an instant. The only location untouched was the spot where Adam, Lyra, and their allies were standing.
The celestial beings returned into the skies, having finished the reset of the world. The newly formed different species intuitively began moving to their assigned lands.
