The clock struck 17:00—about an hour before dusk in Indorosia.
The school bell rang sharply.
Students poured out—some heading to the cafeteria, others staying for evening classes, and of course, some celebrating the end of the day. Al included.
He picked up his pace, eager to leave and head home.
He didn't feel like sticking around to deal with his classmates—especially with the way they'd been staring at him all day for some reason.
It made him a little suspicious. Did they somehow find out he skimmed a few percent off those betting earnings?
Of course, that wasn't the case at all. They were just curious—Al had been acting different lately.
Still, leaving early today wasn't a bad idea. He needed to take care of Lira's training after all.
Without another thought, he headed straight for the nearest bus stop, turning down every ride his classmates offered.
