Cherreads

Chapter 6 - Stolen Moments.

Just as I was about to turn to check who it was, in a flicker of seconds I was no longer there. I saw myself elsewhere. Deep in the woods.

"What in God's name is this?" I muttered under my breath.

"Show yourself!" I screamed, frustration simmering.

The figure appeared, looming. Tall, handsome, and a little masculine. Just average.

He let out a soft smile.

"Hello, dear."

Dismissing his greeting, I replied with a question.

"Who are you?" I asked, anger fueling Inside of me.

"I'm Oliver Quinn," he replied. His expression was gentle, calm.

"And why did you stop me, Oliver? Do you know who I am? Do you think I'm all that you see, because..." I suddenly paused, unsure whether to reveal the fact that I possessed the body of a teenager. But I wanted to be feared.

"You shouldn't have stopped me. I was about to start some entertainment. You ruined it!"

He was fast too. Who could he be? I wondered to myself.

I rushed toward him, fangs, claws, and eyes ready to attack. The transformation was quick, and in a blink, I reached him. I was about to attack when his lips started to move, saying words I couldn't hear, as if he was chanting.

Just then, I felt it.

I couldn't move.

Nothing.

My feet were stuck to the floor. I tried, but couldn't budge. It hurt instead.

"Easy, my dear. The more you try to break free from this, the more pain you'll experience," he said, now circling around me.

He's right.

I'm getting weaker. At this rate, Akira might take over.

I clenched my fists in frustration, anger, and pain brewing all over.

"What are you?" I managed to ask, hands trembling, body shaking, and exhaustion taking over. My eyes became normal, fangs changed back to normal human teeth, and claws became normal as well.

I let out a deep breath, still waiting for his response.

"Good. You are calm now," he said instead of responding to me. Even though I had become normal, he didn't undo the spell, saying it was dangerous. He explained that the spell would undo itself after he left.

I asked once more, and he finally answered me.

"I'm a hybrid," he said.

"A witch and a werewolf," he added.

"A witch?" The word slipped from my lips before I could stop it.

"Yes. This isn't my body, and—"

I interrupted before he could finish his sentence.

"So you cast a spell on me? Why?"

"Because if I hadn't, you would have attacked me. Not that you could do much, though.

You're weak as it is. But just to get things done quietly, while it's still you in control," Oliver replied.

"It's called a barrier spell," he added.

"Let me go. I have to rescue that man," I said, determined.

Oliver chuckled and muttered under his breath,

"As if you care."

"You only care about your revenge," he added, now speaking clearly.

"Wait, so you know?" I said, Realization dawned.

He said something about me being in control, and I didn't mind. I thought It was nothing.

I thought he was just saying.

"You know this wasn't my body?" I asked.

"Of course I do. I'm a witch."

"So you know what they did to me then. Why must I avenge every single one of them? They deserve it!"

"I didn't say anything about that." He clicked his tongue. Slow and deliberate.

"Poor Kira. It will be hard, though, since Akira is also fighting for her body. She will take over soon. And before she does, you have to listen to what I have to say."

"If what you said is true, then release me. I have to save that man first. He's in danger!"

"How funny that you suddenly have a soft side. It's human business. Let the humans deal with it," Oliver said.

"He could get killed. He doesn't deserve it."

"And did the one you killed last night deserve it? Just admit you want to kill those humans for your own purpose.

To get stronger, to get through this girl's inner fears, her family, making everyone stay away from her as they start suspecting her of being a murderer. Tell me this isn't your desire!"

As he said that, I couldn't answer. Not immediately, not when everything he said was true.

My silence meant I had admitted to all of it. He was right. My desire was to get stronger. Killing humans would help quicken that, giving me hope of gaining full control of this body. How could I wait until the full moon before killing anybody when I had the chance right now? Why not take it?

He ruined it by stopping me, bringing me here. It wasn't something to be proud of. Interfering in what wasn't his concern.. and yet here I was, under his spell. It was killing me that I couldn't even hurt him or break free. The worst part was being weak. It was what I had always hated, since I was always perfect and always wanted to be more than perfect in all my affairs. Lord Nakamura used my perfectionism against me, completely manipulating and betraying me because of it. But I wouldn't stop.

Everyone of the Nakamuras must get a taste of my wrath. I'm an alpha, and always will be.

"Alright then. Tell me whatever your story is. Make sure it's well-crafted so I won't get easily bored. Release me from this so-called spell, since I have more to do than chat here with a witch," I said in a voice filled with anger but composed.

"And know this, whatever your story is, half-breed, if it requires help or alliances, know that I would never help you," I said.

"See if you can get that through your thick canine skull," I added.

"Let's see if you can still say that after hearing the full story..." Oliver said.

"Kira Takeda," he completed.

The surprise on my face was evident. People knew my name as Kira of the Nakamura pack, but none had ever called me by my full name before.

Not because they didn't want to, but because they didn't know me well enough. I was always under the Nakamuras' control. The only people who knew my full name were those who knew the Takedas.

Our pack.
