Chapter 459 - DSMW [459]

A spatial tunnel-

Parting ways with Kaiba in ancient Egypt three thousand years ago, Miles and the others were surrounded once more by a pure white dimensional corridor.

It was identical to the scene they passed through before entering the obelisk tower.

Dark Aisha, dissolving first into golden particles and merging into the Millennium Puzzle, had likely already returned to the Soul Room.

Following that logic, unless something went terribly wrong, Miles and Kaima were currently traversing back.

"No! Not now! We absolutely can't go back like this!"

Kaima suddenly shouted in protest.

Of course, dimensional travel doesn't stop just because someone yells at it.

Nonetheless, as a child, currently in loli form, she could at least express her displeasure to Miles.

"If we go back like this…"

Growing unease filled Kaima's gaze as she looked down at her still-loli body.

"Wouldn't I be completely ruined?!"

Kaima Seth—current head of the prestigious Seth family—was usually cold, proud, and decisive. Other noble houses didn't even dare treat her as a woman during political negotiations.

But if this strong and imposing family head were to suddenly return… in loli form…

Good grief. Kaima didn't even want to imagine that scene.

Their painstakingly maintained authority over the years might collapse instantly.

"Would it?"

Cherishing what might be the last chance, Miles gently patted Kaima's head.

"I don't think there's anything to worry about."

Since their journey into the obelisk tower was purely spiritual, Miles assumed Kaima's adult body was still safely waiting for her soul's return.

"And even if you did return as a loli, there won't be any outsiders there."

By 'no outsiders,' he meant that outside the obelisk tower, only academy acquaintances were present.

Besides the Despia fanatics, who didn't count as people, there were only Irena and the others.

With their level of acceptance, not only would they not reject loli Kaima, they'd probably welcome her enthusiastically.

Especially Irena. Miles could already imagine her wearing that look: three parts subtle, three parts mocking, three parts unhinged.

"That's exactly why I refuse!"

Kaima shuddered uncontrollably—she had imagined the same thing crystal clear.

Rather than be mocked and teased by Irena, she'd rather dig her own grave.

Yet, dimensional travel does not wait for childish tantrums.

"Guess there's no helping it."

Miles scratched his head, then extended a hand.

"M-Miles?"

The sudden gentleness made Kaima's loli cheeks flush red.

"If you're scared, then take my hand."

"Y-you… you…!"

Kaima stammered, unsure whether she was embarrassed or angry.

"You're treating me like a child, Miles!"

'But… you are a child right now.'

Miles didn't say it aloud.

Instead, he spoke earnestly: "Take my hand. I'll lend you courage."

"C-Courage?"

Her trembling eyes showed clear hesitation.

Children were far too easy to persuade.

"Don't lie to me!"

Fortunately, with Dark Aisha already gone into the Puzzle, Kaima finally built up enough 'courage' to accept what Miles was offering.

Her small fingers brushed against his palm—soft, warm—and her cheeks flared like fire.

Then Kaima noticed something hard pressed between their palms.

"This is the card of courage," Miles said, passing it to her.

"The… card of courage?" Kaima looked down at the blue card face—and her pupils shrank in shock.

"This is… Obelisk the Tormentor!"

The God Card symbolizing both the greatest destructive power and the obelisk tower itself.

"Nothing inspires courage more than an Egyptian God."

Miles grinned as if to say, See? I wasn't lying.

"I'm lending you Obelisk for now. Once we get out—cause a little chaos, Kaima!"

"I feel like… you just tricked me into holding your hand." For once, the loli spoke with clarity.

"No, I meant it. The card of courage is just your own courage, Kaima. If you hadn't insisted on coming with me from the start, I never would've obtained Obelisk or AA-ZEUS."

Originally, after receiving the Key from the Saint, Miles had planned to enter the obelisk tower alone.

However, unexpectedly, Kaima had forced her way in alongside him.

Facing unknown dangers ahead, Kaima Seth chose to fight at Miles's side.

And the truth was clear—without Kaima's Blue-Eyes supporting him early on, Miles probably would've died at the first Gate.

"So let me say it properly. Thank you, Kaima. Because of you, I made it to the end."

"Miles, you…!"

The light radiating from the 'courage' card washed over her, and Kaima's resolve shifted for the final time.

"So since we fought to the very end, let's return in triumph, Miles!"

Miles reached out again to pat her head before the traversal ended, but this time, her delicate hand slapped his own away.

"No headpats! Not now, Miles!"

Clutching Obelisk's card tightly—the symbol of her growth—Kaima Seth's petite form burst into brilliant light.

And she returned to her tall, elegant adult body.

"But there's one thing I absolutely agree with, Miles. At the end of this battle, let's make a spectacular entrance!"

"You get it, Kaima!"

Miles held the AA-ZEUS card; Kaima held Obelisk.

Together, they threw their hands toward the radiance ahead.

"Let's go!" ×2

In that instant, the sky split open with returning light.

Before the stunned, trembling gazes of the Despia cultists, two colossal beings descended—a steel god-slayer of impossible scale, and a giant god of overwhelming destruction.

Even in vast numbers, the cultists looked utterly small, utterly powerless.

Standing upon AA-ZEUS's shoulder, Miles raised his fist.

Standing upon Obelisk's shoulder, Kaima did the same.

Miles: "God-Erasing Thunderfire!!"

Kaima: "Divine Fist Shattering Impact!!"

A god… and a weapon built to slay gods swept across the battlefield like cutting grass.

And in a blink, the war ended.
