"I have told you that I don't trust him, that's more than enough reason," Dalton replied, he turned his head toward the window, as though he could see the sky behind it.
Meera wanted to retort that, but found herself unable to find the right word and moreover, she didn't want to argue with him when he just recovered.
She closed her eyes and calmed herself down, she didn't want to make things difficult for both of them for such trivial matter.
"Thank you," Meera said to thaw the tension. "For coming and saving me."
"You are my mate, there is no need to thank me." Dalton gritted his teeth and then questioned her. "Did he do something to you?" he asked.
