Chapter 495 - 495: The God Tree

When Malrick opened two portals, Jigen carrying Ōtsutsuki Isshiki's Karma and Ōtsutsuki Urashiki from the future appeared before him. Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, cautiously observing from the side, nearly trembled in fear.

Before either could speak, Malrick froze them in midair. Only then did Kaguya exhale in relief, her reverence for him growing even stronger.

Malrick, absorbed in genetic research, activated his Super Vision, scanning left and right. After examining Urashiki and then Isshiki within Jigen's Karma, he concluded, "Although Isshiki is a level above Kaguya, their genes aren't significantly different. There's no need to study the other Ōtsutsuki."

He snapped his fingers, and Jigen and Urashiki disintegrated into ash.

Kaguya had been explaining the Ōtsutsuki Clan's history and their threat to the World of Shinobi to the Sage of Six Paths. Witnessing the scene, she weakened in the knees, falling to the ground. Her long hair sprawled as her white eyes locked on Malrick in terror, lips trembling. She wanted to shout, "Don't, they are allies!" but fear rendered her silent.

Thud!

Even the Sage of Six Paths knelt.

"Young man, no, Malrick? My lord Malrick! Misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding!"

He had heard Naruto call Malrick 'Big Brother' and recognized his name. Although he had sealed his mother for over a thousand years, he never intended to kill her. Kaguya's explanation made him realize her actions were out of necessity.

"What misunderstanding?" Malrick raised an eyebrow.

"My mother never sought to destroy the World. Everything she did was to resist the Ōtsutsuki Clan!" the Sage cried.

Malrick considered briefly, then opened another spatial portal, producing a pitch-black living mass, tossing it onto the ground. It lay motionless, seemingly playing dead.

Kaguya whispered cautiously, "Black Zetsu?"

At her recognition, the mass opened its eyes and mouth. "Mother? You've broken free? That's great! Now I won't need to gather the Ten-Tails to destroy the World....."

Slap!

Kaguya struck Black Zetsu down, pinning him with two black rods.

"I don't know this one," she said to Malrick, subtly covering her face.

Malrick's mouth twitched. This Black Zetsu was pitiful.

"Suit yourselves," he said casually. Killing Isshiki and Urashiki was incidental; he had learned enough about the Ōtsutsuki race.

Now, his attention shifted to the Ten-Tails, or the God Tree. Malrick opened eight portals, extracting Chakra from the jinchūriki of the One-Tails to the Eight-Tails. Naruto, quick-witted, demanded a contribution from the Nine-Tails, who, cautious, severed a tail and gave it to him.

With all nine Tailed Beasts' Chakra in hand, Malrick naturally performed Yin-Yang Release. Their energies coalesced, forming infantile full-bodied versions of the beasts.

Malrick glanced at Kaguya. The ancient Goddess shivered and hastily summoned the Gedo Statue. He stuffed the Tailed Beasts into it, using Yin-Yang Release to fuse them. Soon, the Gedo Statue's body shifted into the Ten-Tails.

"If I recall, an Ōtsutsuki sacrifice is required to transform the Ten-Tails into the God Tree, correct?" Malrick turned toward Kaguya, whose face went pale. She nodded quietly, the sole pure-blood Ōtsutsuki.

Satisfied, Malrick turned away. "Previously, I used the world's power to create life. This time, I'll employ Yin-Yang Release."

He combined Yin for form and Yang for creation, crafting a newborn Ōtsutsuki: wooden great horns, pale skin, pure Byakugan—a perfect specimen.

"Go!" Malrick commanded, tossing the creation to the Ten-Tails. Instinctively, it swallowed the Ōtsutsuki, its limbs and tail transforming into enormous roots that enveloped the Moon. The head grew into the tree crown, completing the towering, uniquely-shaped God Tree. Few branches adorned it; its main trunk reached skyward, roots dominating the lunar surface.

"Is this the original form of the God Tree?" everyone marveled, except Kaguya.

Naruto asked curiously, "Big Brother Malrick, are you going to use Infinite Tsukuyomi on it?"

"Of course not. I just want to study the Chakra Fruit," Malrick replied.

Kaguya hesitated, but seeing his enthusiasm, spoke reluctantly: "To bear a Chakra Fruit, the God Tree needs sufficient energy. This large rock that sealed it cannot provide enough."

"Of course the Moon's energy isn't enough," Malrick said, placing his hand on the trunk. Life energy surged, converting into Chakra.

Malrick's scale was unimaginable—his energy could crush stars and destroy galaxies. Powering the God Tree was trivial, like a few milliseconds of sunlight to him.
