Chapter 200 - Chapter 217 Invasion

Royce, the deputy leader of the Angel Sect, led over a hundred men into the central courtyard. After walking for a while, they finally discovered that the courtyard was equipped with anti-tomb-raiding mechanisms. Bows, crossbows, and other defensive weapons were strategically placed…

Even if they entered, lifelike statues continued to appear. These statues all resembled guards, weapons in hand, lined up on both sides of the passage. Even their vigilant expressions were carved with astonishing realism.

The statues were sculpted from an unknown metal. They looked like bronze on the surface, but a light tap revealed the material's incredible hardness—far beyond ordinary bronze.

What caught them completely off guard was that one seemingly inanimate statue suddenly sprang into action in the center of the crowd, launching a full attack, attempting to kill the audacious tomb raiders.

Their speed was extreme, and the instantaneous force they unleashed exceeded the peak of even the most concentrated mirror techniques, rivaling warriors of Qi-cultivation level.

"Swiss, swoosh, swoosh!" In an instant, all the statues reached the guards and raised their massive swords, swinging at each of the intruders.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The raiders led by Royce were far beyond the strength of ordinary focused-mind mirror users; even the lowest-level cultivators could instantly release bursts of power.

Noticing the statues' attack, Royce and his men quickly retreated, and a series of violent crashes followed. Every bronze statue charging at them was blasted apart. When they encountered stronger ones, they simply reduced them to fragments.

The statues came fast and left even faster. Anyone charging at them was thrown around, unable to stand, and eventually pulverized.

Within minutes, these incredibly strong humans had leveled all the statues in the tomb corridor.

"Move out!" Royce's expression remained calm as he gestured for everyone to leave.

The others nodded silently and followed.

They weren't surprised by the statues' sudden attacks, but they became more cautious.

The Divine Emperor's Tomb was extraordinary. They hadn't discovered anything unusual inside—yet if it weren't for the statues, they might have proceeded calmly. But soon, they sensed something wrong, wondering if they had gone the wrong way.

Risk meant reward. The greater the risk, the greater the reward.

For truly valuable treasures inside the Divine Emperor's Tomb, Ahmed would never allow tomb raiders to seize his lifetime's efforts without precautions.

For experts of their level, merely intercepting a few statues was too insignificant to pose any real threat.

The weaker the defenses, the further from the tomb's true core, and the harder it would be to reach Ahmed's legendary treasure vault quickly.

"Damn it, what is that!"

After killing the bronze statues, Royce and his team advanced a few hundred meters when someone in the crowd screamed.

Fifty meters ahead, a monstrous figure appeared—a creature with the head of a wolf and the body of a bull.

This creature resembled the previous statue-guards, though the special materials used in its construction were unknown.

The wolf-headed bull measured five meters long, two and a half meters wide, with a head about as large as a waist—ferocious and powerful.

Soon, several more wolf-headed bull statues emerged, each lifelike, as if they had come to life. They bared sharp teeth and claws, stalking Royce and his men, ready to strike.

"Damn!" Royce cursed under his breath, his face dark. "These things are strong—at least Qi-cultivators of level three to five. Their power is comparable to the weakest in our team."

He paused, adding: "I've only walked a short distance and haven't even seen any of the core treasures. Just along the way, I've encountered so many powerful guardians. If I venture further, I'll be in for a real shock. What if someone who escaped from here comes after us?"

"Yes," said a member from the Brown family in America, pressing his lips together. "If no true experts are sent from the rear, we could easily be caught wandering around. This is dangerous—you might never get out."

"Damn, we've been here over two hours. Other than some simple hidden weapons and defensive setups, we haven't seen any gold, silver, jewels, or precious porcelain. If those treasures lie in the core area, things could get even more dangerous," another teammate said anxiously.

Royce didn't dwell on it. He readied himself for battle. "Everyone, focus! Eliminate these things as quickly as possible!"

"Kill them!" shouted a knight angrily, thrusting his spear at one of the monsters.

"Roar!" The beast-statue roared like a real animal, planted its feet, and charged the knight like lightning.

"Block!" The knight slammed his spear against the creature's back, producing a loud metallic clash.

Yet the strike didn't topple the monster. It didn't even slow down, continuing its rapid charge.

Though the spear hit its back, the surface remained smooth and black, with no scratches.

Bang, bang, bang!

The knight couldn't retract his spear in time, and the monster struck with its claw, slamming him with full force.

The knight, propelled by momentum, could only stumble backward, taking a painful blow.

The creature seemed alive. After hitting, it charged again, aiming to crush the knight before he could react.

Bang! The monster was repelled by Royce, the Angel Sect's deputy. He slammed his massive palm on the ground, protecting the knight.

"Hahaha!" The remaining monsters behind surged forward, screeching, each attacking the tomb raiders like their companion.

"Kill them!"

"Take this seriously! These monsters aren't weak. We can't let our guard down and let them kill us."

Of course, the strong humans didn't stand idle. The moment the monsters threatened them, they rushed forward, determined to destroy these nuisances.

"Careful!" Royce warned. "The strongest of these monsters is comparable to our weakest. Their bodies are made of special, extremely tough material. Ordinary humans can't handle them."

"They'll be blown away!" he added, glancing at the rescued knight. "Ramsey underestimated them, thinking both sides were even. He assumed the monsters were mindless corpses with little support. I was cautious, but didn't expect their bodies to withstand a blow—they nearly killed me!"

"Yes!"

The short-haired men shouted as they charged. No joking, no hesitation—just full force against the wolf-headed bull monsters.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The humans' fists collided with the monsters' hard metal shells, sending reverberations through the enclosed corridors. The sound echoed violently, making the clashes even more deafening.

Though the monsters' combat level was only that of a third-tier Qi-cultivator, their metal shells were nearly impervious. Strikes from equals barely left scratches, while their attacks caused serious harm to humans.

Without nearby strong men for backup, humans could easily be defeated if caught off guard.

Eventually, the wolf-headed bull monsters were destroyed, shattered by the humans' overwhelming force.

Though strong, the monsters were too few to withstand over a hundred powerful humans' indiscriminate assault. Even one punch could reduce them to rubble.

"Move!"

After killing the monsters, Royce didn't say another word, simply signaling everyone to advance.

After driving forward a while, his expression grew serious. "We haven't reached the important area yet. The tomb guards are strong, but as we go deeper, it won't be as terrifying."

"Then this must be the Emperor's true tomb. Otherwise, why deploy such powerful guards so early?" one man said.

Royce nodded. "Before entering, our homeland sent word that more experts would arrive. We must slow down and wait for them. Otherwise, they'll likely all be killed."

The others nodded, slowing their pace.

Other sections had similar scenarios. Different battle environments and guard appearances caused heavy losses to the vanguard.

Everyone entering here understood the danger. Once inside, the risks only increased.
