The interrogation room felt even tighter as a uniformed man took a seat across from Leo. The name tag on his chest was clearly visible, Bryan Carpenter. His face was flat, professional, but there was something in the way he looked that made the atmosphere more suffocating, as if he already held all the answers before asking a single question.
Sebastian stood at the side of the room, both hands tucked into his pockets, trying to hold himself back from interfering too quickly.
Bryan opened a brown folder on the table, then slid several photographs toward Leo.
"Let's start simple," he said calmly. "You know Thomas Kessler."
That wasn't a question.
Leo didn't answer immediately. His gaze dropped to the photos in front of him. The first image showed him standing a few meters away from a man. Thomas. In another, they were closer. As if they were talking. As if there was enough of a connection to raise suspicion.
