Chapter 418 - 418 Totto Land Travel Guide

With the speed of the Dodo Sky Comet Dragon, Sherwin and the others almost blinked and went from Cake Island to Liquor Island.

This was a small island located to the southwest of Cake Island, with buildings shaped like various wine bottles and wine glasses.

However, what disappointed Suika Meow a little was that Liquor Island was not like the Juice Island they had seen before.

The surrounding seawater was just ordinary seawater and had not turned into alcohol.

The main reason was that the BIG MOM Pirates had not obtained the Liquor-Liquor Fruit. Without the help of an unscientific power like a Devil Fruit, turning the sea itself into alcohol was still extremely difficult.

"So… so fast!"

It was only after the Dodo Advance descended back onto the sea surface and switched back to its normal form that Pudding and the others recovered from their shock.

Although Sherwin had held back, using only Klee Meow flame propulsion and not even letting the little Palico go all out, the speed of the Dodo Sky Comet Dragon was still far beyond that of the vast majority of pirate ships.

The arrival of the Dodo Advance also alarmed the administrator of Liquor Island, Totto Land Minister of Liquor—Charlotte Zuquete.

He happened to be on the island, and for a moment he almost thought an enemy attack had arrived.

Fortunately, the Dodo quickly reverted to its basic form, dispelling the misunderstanding.

Zuquete was a short, middle-aged man. Among the many bizarre figures of the Charlotte Family, aside from his height being rather short, he was overall fairly normal…

If not for the raccoon tail behind him.

Sherwin guessed that the other party might truly have Mink blood. After all, Charlotte Linlin choice of partners was extremely broad. Not to mention Minks, she even had descendants of the Tontatta Tribe.

Emmmm… actually, Sherwin was quite curious about how Big Mom body size even made that possible.

After briefly explaining their purpose, Zuquete—who had already been alerted by Perospero—naturally welcomed Sherwin and the others with great enthusiasm.

Although aside from Suika Meow, there was only Seijuro Meow on their ship who truly enjoyed drinking, Liquor Island was never short of heavy drinkers.

As a result, in just a few short minutes, Suika Meow was already holding her wine gourd and that enormous wine dish high in the air, completely mingling with the island residents.

However…

The town on Liquor Island was actually called Gin Town?

"Why are you looking at me like that, meow?!" Haibara Meow, who was squatting on Sherwin shoulder, saw him suddenly turn his head with a very strange look in his eyes and instantly bristled.

"Are you thinking up some bad idea again, meow?!"

(=`Д=)

"I just think this town has a lot of fate with you."

Sherwin explained honestly.

However, the suspicious little kitten did not believe a single word from the Hunter, whose credibility had long since vanished. Yet she could not guess what Sherwin was really planning either…

So, Haibara Meow first took a bite out of Sherwin ear as preemptive revenge, then decisively ran off with Shirley on her head.

The Hunter, both wronged and not entirely wronged at the same time: "..."

"Mr. Sherwin," the little spy Pudding came over again at this moment, "since your ship can fly so fast, why were you still caught up to by Brother Katakuri and the others back then?"

"Hahaha… that was naturally because I originally planned to find a place to wipe out all the pursuers, to scare off the other pirates who were coveting Robin."

There was nothing worth hiding about this, so Sherwin simply left out the part about wanting to trick Vergo, then shrugged and continued, "I just didn't expect Kaido to suddenly show up later. I almost played myself into disaster."

"How could that be? Mr. Sherwin is so strong. Didn't he later escape from Kaido hands without relying on the Dodo Advance?"

She blinked her eyes brightly, wearing a look of pure admiration for Sherwin.

Even though he knew perfectly well that she was putting on an act, Sherwin still felt a tiny bit secretly pleased…

After all, what she said was the truth, wasn't it?

However, Sherwin quickly snapped himself out of that floating feeling. Escaping from Kaido did sound impressive, but in reality it was just that he couldn't beat the guy. Thinking about it carefully, there really wasn't much to be proud of.

What depressed Sherwin the most was that promised "first strike flowing haki, second strike advanced coating, third strike awakening."

Back then, he had already taken several hits from Kaido, yet forget about advanced coating—he didn't even awaken Conqueror Haki!

Or was it that blocking the blow with a weapon didn't count, and he had to take it head-on with his body for it to work?

The gloomy Hunter kept letting his thoughts wander while continuing to deal with all of Charlotte probing and roundabout questions, that little spy.

They only stayed on Liquor Island for about two hours before leaving, mainly because the other cats weren't particularly interested in alcohol.

As for leaving Suika Meow behind by herself…

Even though the two sides seemed to be cooperating quite happily for now, there was no way Sherwin would completely let down his guard.

Besides, if no one kept an eye on Suika Meow, she could knock out every single drunk in Gin Town.

Even in just those two short hours, Suika Meow had already drunk under the table more than a hundred people.

So Sherwin decisively dragged this still wildly enthusiastic little drunk cat away from Liquor Island.

"Noooo—! I still want to compete in drinking with them, meow—! There still so much alcohol I haven't tasted yet… hic!"

(●`Д●)

Normally quite well-behaved, Suika Meow flailed her arms and legs in protest.

In the end, she only calmed down after Sherwin promised that he would bring her back later to continue drinking competitions with others.

Over the next few days, Sherwin kept leading the cats as they traveled back and forth among the other islands of Totto Land.

Even though he was already using the Dodo Sky Comet Dragon to get around, he still couldn't manage to visit all of the remaining thirty-four islands.

Although the other islands weren't very large, they were filled either with desserts or with drinks.

Their appeal to the cats—especially the little kitten cats—was simply too great.

Until they had played to their heart content, there was no way they were willing to leave.

On top of that, Sherwin had to periodically take Sanji Meow back to Cake Island to study cooking and prepare food for Charlotte Linlin,

as well as take Suika Meow to Liquor Island to complete her achievement of "knocking down everyone in Gin Town."

During this time, Sherwin "blind date partners" changed several times. One after another,

he met quite a few characters he either remembered or didn't remember, among whom there was even Charlotte Chiffon…

So seriously, just what kind of impression do you Charlotte Family people have of my sense of aesthetics, hey?!

That said, the fact that Chiffon was actually only in her early twenties still genuinely surprised Sherwin.

He had always thought she was around the same age as Capone Bege.

And yet, despite all these "blind date partners" being swapped in and out, the only one who stayed with them the entire time was Charlotte pudding, that little spy.

At first, Sherwin thought she was looking for an opportunity to use her Devil Fruit ability to alter his memories, but after several days passed, pudding made no move in that regard at all…

It was unclear whether she simply hadn't eaten that memory fruit yet, or whether she didn't dare to do so because of Sherwin and the other strength.

In addition, that Road Poneglyph history text was successfully brought back by Shermie Meow.

Her process of reading Zeus memories went very smoothly, with no signs of loss despite the long passage of time.

At first, Sherwin and the others only speculated that the stones recording the history text could not interpret the words engraved on themselves. In reality, Charlotte Linlin couldn't even turn them into Homies.

The Homie Shermie Meow had sensed earlier was actually Big Mom casually testing her ability on a table after failing, to see whether something had gone wrong.

After confirming that her ability itself was fine, Big Mom once again tried to use it on the history text and failed.

In a fit of rage, she vented her frustration on it instead, which was why Shermie Meow sensed a Homie being born and then disappearing not long after.

As for why Big Mom ability didn't work on the history text, Jinx and Haibara Meow proposed two possibilities.

One was that the stone used for the history text was similar to Seastone, containing some substance that could nullify Devil Fruit abilities.

However, it was probably not Pyrobroin, since the properties it displayed were different from Seastone.

The other possibility was that these stones themselves were creations of some Devil Fruit ability.

In the manga, Big Mom possesses one Road Poneglyph and two ordinary ones, a total of three history texts.

However, one of them was found for her by Jinbe, and the cover story explains that stone origin, which happened after Whitebeard death. So at present, she only has two history texts in her possession.
